Does anyone know if gt5 gamesaves can be used on different ps3s? My last ps3 got ylod so I used the hair dryer trick on it to retrieve my gamesaves but when I put it on my new ps3 it wont let me use it even though im using the same psn account. I have nearly 400 cars on it and had even just grinded for a 787b I only drove once :ouch:.Sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread.

I think it depends on how old your saved game is, I'm not sure which but one of the recent updates unlocked it. I just had the same problem my 60GB YLOD for the second time... luckily I was backing up the save to the Plus online place and to a USB Hard Drive every night after I finished playing after the first YLOD and I just loaded the game straight up on the new PS3. I did lose my in game Photographs, Replays and the image I used for the in game Avatar as apparently things like Photo's and Replays have to be exported to the XMB, or are stored in some file other than your save game that I forgot to copy. So I guess for those people that did that killer lap that you want to keep the replay of, don't forget to export to the XMB and back it up on USB Drive.

My gamesaves fairly old maybe around 3 mounths and I saved it onto a usb. It wont let me use it at all, its so annoying because Ive got the save but it wont let me use it.

Be sure to use the same PS3 username along with the same email and other PSN account info from your 1st PS3.

I have 2 PS3's that use/swap the same gamesave, so it is possible.

With all this talk about western video games and how the east has lost touch I will navigate you to this article. Does this sound a little like Kaz? I think so.

"Based on my experiences, Japanese development tends to be characterized by a creative overwhelming chaos, where productions are often driven by a tyrannical single creative mind and development practices tend to be quite old-fashioned and, at times, extremely inefficient. On the other hand, Western development is generally characterized by an efficient, well organized, risk-averse sort of democracy; actual creativity and strong vision get diluted, if not sometimes completely lost, in endless brainstorming sessions driven mainly by market analysis rather than creators."

Very true statement. They create masterpieces like Metal Gear and they mostly bring you a finished product. PD just failed with planning and finishing GT5. GT5 could be better, way better, with straight planning.

Finished games are a thing of the past. Game companies like PD make more money by giving you a good decent game with room to expand, and downloadable content.

I'm not sure what your point is. Three of those games have DLC, and at least one was pretty buggy on release...

You can finish them! DLC content doesn't generally (with the exception of Red Dead's Zombie stuff) expand the single player game, just adds to the multiplayer elements.

So when did PD release some DLC? I would like to have what you have. If they were going to make money from DLC they would have let me buy some from them already.

Except they haven't done this, so your point is pointless!

👍

PD worked at least a half year further on GT5 to improve things and kill bugs. In thise period they have to pay their staff to do the work, so they still pay for work on a game that is already released and should be finished.

I would say they lose money by it. But they have massive income from previous GTs and GT5:P and also GT5. So they dont care about productions costs. They care about the game, but it is not finished.

Other developers release an unfinished game and leave it. They dont invest further, because they want to keep the money in their pockets.

And if you take GT5 V1.00 against V1.10 then it is a shame what they have released in the first place.

I think the original point was that the games themselves, when released, were "unfinished" - i.e. buggy, "missing" features etc. Not that they couldn't be finished / "beaten", although that can be the case with certain bugs, especially on PC.

Certain versions of GT2 couldn't be "finished", according to the in-game complete-o-meter, but that was just a bug due to content (drag racing) being canceled at the last minute. That's what I tell myself, anyway. I definitely did everything in the game - stupid stats.

For your information, Ben gave GT5 a 9.9. :)

re. the "planning". I think the flawed products come from working to very open, far-reaching deadlines, with an epic vision that is fantastic but unviable. PD have the freedom to do this, and it as much their curse as their gift.

It would be a very different story if Kaz were forced to release a full GT game every couple of years. If he was told "This game is going on sale whether you're "finished" or not", he would crap his pants and think "we have to get the physics sorted and we cannot spend 6 months making each car." A lot of the other minute detail that is brilliant yet totally stupid (for better, for worse) would be cut out, and the team's talents would be poured into building a racing game they were "satisfied" with, under pressure. They would feel unsatisfied with the result, but I am sure the results would still be special, but much more playable and with stronger core content.

For this post, I realized that the Ferrari F1 Seasonal was still active. So I decided to borrow the F10 from a friend and do a race. I chose to do Tokyo R246. With the triple payout thing, a victory went for about 500K something. I was fairly lethargic early on. Halfway through the ten lap race, I was actually getting up with the lead pack. I managed to get up to about 4th until one of the bonehead AI drivers spun me out in the little loop. So all I could manage was 4th when I could have clearly stolen the race away. Of course, I've never done well in F1-style driving. Not sure if it's the level of competition F1 requires, or just that it isn't as easy to win an F1 race compared to a touring car or sportscar race. It was still interesting racing F1 cars. I kind of saw it as a tune-up for when I do Formula Gran Turismo. I still haven't started the Dream Car Championship. I wanted to do that before trying FGT.

I recently bought my 250th car- a 2008 Nissan 370Z. I'm nearing that 1K "Car Collector" goal. Of course, that still means I have 750 cars to go. Never thought the "We Love Cars" deal would be THIS serious!

I know, maybe Ben should have reviewed it a little more in depth.

I thought your name looked familiar. I generally dont post there.

Oh, Ben did absolutely fine with his review.:) He is one of the few who actually looked at all the positive things GT5 does. Not everything things to be so negative.

Yes. That's me. I use the same name everywhere I go. No need to hide who I am.:)

Oh I'm not saying he didn't give it a fair review, because I know he always does, I'm there everyday and read all his reviews. I'm just saying Ben didn't play it for a couple of months and then give the review, because I bet if he did it wouldn't have gotten such a high score.

 Buddy! Oh you may have seen my screen name *Veritas Vincit*, but I doubt it.

I would like to recommend you post there since you read it daily. The community there is rock solid. I'll be looking for you.👍

Oh, I believe Ben put plenty of time in GT5. He is around level 25-30, and Arnold is as well.

One of the reasons I go to that site nearly exclusively is because the reviews there. I may not agree with everything, but the reviews there never have an agenda, and never feel rushed.
