So will we get DLC content or are they focusing on GT6 only now, if yes, when is that supposed to come?

Who knows. I don't think it makes much sense to add new content to GT5 anymore. It just feels too late and awkward with the Platinum version hitting stores soon etc.

Maybe we will see a few GT6 appetizers patched in but at the moment I don't expect much more than that. I'd rather they focus on fixing all the weird stuff in GT5 and making GT6 a much more consistent and complete experience from day one. I hope we can look back on GT5 as some kind of experiment which let the consumers highlight the good and bad. The last things the world needs is GT6 Prologue.

I wonder if we will see a "GT6 Prologue" or "GT5 Spec II" expansion pack/DLC/GT5 repack.
I think that even if "vanilla" GT5 is now Platinum, Sony can still release a "Spec II" version at full price later on (I suppose around when Forza4 comes out).

I wonder too...
The online changed the rules. GT5 improved month by month adding new features. It changed, maybe not hugely, but significantly.
I think that sooner or later we'll see the online Time Trials come up in GT5. It's absurd, IMO, they are not in. Maybe in September when GT5p online service will be discontinued.

Hopefully the GamesCom will give us some news

It wasn't my first race online, but it was my first racing against a friend online. I put a few of my cars to work, including a the Wedsport car gifted to me from a good friend. We did about three races. I lost the first one at Autumn Ring Mini, but would win the next two. It is a lot different when you race against other human opponents online. When you go online, your skills are put to test against other human opponents. It's there where you see how your skills stack up against somebody else. I was sensible in all of my races, picking cars I wouldn't win by 10 or more seconds with if I raced against AI opponents. The racer even liked how I was a good racer even though I've only played Gran Turismo 5 for about a month. I still think I'm a bit rusty after having played other GTs just to add to my "John's Gran Turismo Space" blog.

I've been satisfied with online races for the most part. Only one race or so did I feel like I was at a serious disadvantage, including one race where some guy was INTENTIONALLY driving the wrong way and hit me head-on with his X2010.

Think of the leap in content from GT1 to GT2.

Exactly, most people don't seem to get this. GT5 is the first game on the PS3 console, just like GT1 was to PS1, and GT3 was to PS2. Once PD had the core foundation in place, then they went all out (in their minds) for the next game on each console. Hence, GT6 should be a masterpiece.

I havent touched GT5 since before the Tsunami and i dont miss it at all. What a let down that game is.

I don't expect any DLC at all to tell you the truth. And if you haven't touched GT5 since then, you're missing out on some great online racing.

It would be great, BUT... you forgot one very important thing. GT3 came out just 1,5 year after GT2. GT5 came out almost 6 (!!) years after GT4
:ouch:

And...? So did another game, which took even longer. Regardless of when it came out, Point still stands.

Is this a sign that Porsche is going to be in the next GT series. :sly:

I'm not sure where you got that idea from?
It has nothing at all to do with GT5, it seems it's just a guy messing around photoshopping some promo pics of a concept car...

The point was, that first GT game on "new" system is always smaller, and second one is huge. Ok.. that's right. But again, GT3 was much smaller than GT2 because it was made in just ~1,5-2 years. Why then GT5 is so much smaller than GT4? It took them ~5 years to make it... so there's no excuse.

RACECAR
Please tell me you are joking with that question and that you know that car isn't even real.

You know GT has always featured prototype cars don't you? But your right, just wishful thinking.

According to what? Again, I seem to recall GT5 wasn't the only one that took more then two years to make but no one makes a big deal out of that like they do this one.

Also, how is GT5 "smaller" then GT4?

Nothing really new but good to see some more tidbits. Gran Turismo 5 was always a bit rough around the edges, but I feel we'll see GT6 on PS3 and it will be like a fine, delicious red wine.

I also enjoy putting my decent French skillz to work :D

Yeah it is in development for sure I just hope they keep informing us about the progress :grumpy:

He means events, number of premiums and stuff like that not size as I'm pretty sure GT5 filled up the disk

So what´s up? Are they alive? Chilling in Hawaii? Playing golf? Working on another update? Working on GT6?

I bet PD will do it the same way forever... No news, no infos, dissapointments... Marketing like in the good old 60´s...

GT5 has Advanced, in that Extreme detail of premiums and physics have advanced, but overall the game has less content than GT4. Content meaning things to do, like events and tracks.

GT5 traded Quantity for Quality.

Some people may argue that they compromised quality for quantity with respect to including a load of standard cars.

I believe GT5 has loads of content and quality - yes, there are less A-Spec events than in GT4, but GT5 has many different things to do such as online racing, remote B-spec, seasonal events, special events, course maker, watch GT TV, drifting... also, there are a lot of nice features and touches such as dynamic day / night, weather, skidmarks (!), reverse lights, damage, rollover, dynamically created tracks, pit crews, cockpits...

Just look at my Sig. to see why I think GT5 is WAY smaller than GT4. Then again they had to build a completely new "operating system" as they put it... So I think that is why they didn't put in as many A-Spec races, but to me there is still no excuse for the comparatively tiny A-Spec in GT5.

Quite correct ...but then add special events, seasonals & online which gt4 didn't have & is it still smaller?

Not sure. It evens it out some though. But... GT4 had other stuff to do too, so then you'd have to add those up. I have a PS2 (not hooked up), and GT4. Maybe sometime I'll fire it up and start counting.

To some people on-line racing negates my sig., but for those of us who really enjoy an epic, expansive, and well rounded single player A-Spec campaign; it just doesn't make up for it. I definitely see both sides though for sure.

Well said! I would like to add that repeating events with different cars and setups certainly is a refreshing experience even though it seems dull on paper. I don't do that to compensate for the amount of events. I do it because it's fun to approach each event in several ways. So I don't really care if PD added another 200 events with different scenarios. Afterall it would be the same tracks over and over again. Just look at the Seasonal Events. They are without doubt cool additions but how much do they add that we haven't done a billion times already? In fact I still need to complete 24 events spread across A-Spec and B-Spec and I have played the game consistently since November. There's plenty to do.
