i asume they didn't want to hype it too much. We all remember when pre relase trailers drove us insane and when game hit market a lot of people were confused because game didn't play as good as trailers....

They have learned ! đź’ˇ
 I think we have learned too .But of course People are going to gt hyped if you give PD 5 years to make a game :sly:
Because they are PD who don't care to inform us what will be, everything that PD does is hidden in stealth. Only when it comes out is when we find out.

Well that is just wrong in my opinion .Could easily have released an Epic trailer that might even make people hold off Forza 4.

I know it is wrong. In my eyes they are making GT for them not for us. If it was truly made for us there would be a whole lot of things different. This is essentially what has been going on. They hardly give us any info of the game except trailers and screen shots with letting the hype build without giving any real info out (why? I ask) and it lets people assume to much if we had a better understanding what GT5 was during development there would be less of a let down.

Spec II will probably be more of what Kaz wants than what we want.

I dont think there is any pleasing you since you hate everything PD does in the first place.

I never said I hate what PD does.

I'm only stating the way I see it and have seen it since the first news came out about GT5. Limited news, tons of hype and fans let down because of the hype and no news. I am pleased with this game but I want more just like most of us here. I play daily as well.

Since it took so long for GT5 to be released, let's assume another 3 years at the soonest for GT6, that's 36 months, if I can spare 2 bucks every 3 months for a new DLC item, I would probably do so.
But then again, not everybody loves playing GT series like some or most of us here do.
My 10 cents :)

Maybe these people are inherently confused since trailers as far as I'm concerned are always unplayable ;)

They declared an online service failure on the GT japanese site. Already solved.
I supposed this may confirm that there is some link between the retirement of GT5 Prologue online services (today) and GT5 servers...
Hopefully they are enforcing the GT5 online service moving resources from the old system to the new one. Just my thought.

Hehe! :dunce: Does GT5 Prologue count? or the hundreds of GT5 trailers? POLYPHONY DIGITAL ARE THE PRE-LAUNCH HYPE MASTERS. If anything they've cut back on the hype generators in the past few months, which might be for their own good if Spec 2 turns out to be good. ...or their "early 2012 project".

Also know as marketing a product. Since Polyphony Digital is Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) first party developer along with Guerilla Games (Killzone), Media Molecule (Little Big Planet) and Naughty Dogs (Uncharted series), Sony who's the publisher of these games, will obviously provide a huge marketing/advertising budget.

Sure all of that counts.

I am fealing that Spec II stands for free roam like it was teased on the games home scream. They showed that for some reason.

I would love for a free roam that included some back country or mountain roads where we could drive any car we want just for the joy and freedom of it. Roads kind of like this:

Call me insane (or insanity wolf if you like) but its probably best if you had no expectations, period. Its not necessarily expecting nothing, just waiting and seeing what happens with no predictions, Positive or negative.

My prediction-belief-hope for Spec2 is that it will be whatever GT5 was designed to be in first place and PD hadn't the time to make. KY has said about the pressure from Sony to launch GT5 even half-ready. So, spec2 will show what ready=final means, alongside with some added features which community proposed. I am positive nevertheless.

I don't think major things will come from Spec 2.0... but who knows PD might have something up their sleeve. All I want is at least 20 new cars and 3+ new tracks, I really hope they will actually add content because if they don't then the GT community will continue to consider Kaz a double faced lying @$$hole...

Found this when I loaded up GT5:

"The Online Serivce of Gran Turismo 5 will undergo maintenance during the following hours:

Start: 10/05/2011 02:00 EDT
Finish: 10/05/2011 03:00 EDT

During the Maintance, you will not be able to connect to any of the online services.

*Please note that the exact time of time Maintanance may slightly vary"

Pretty sure everyone has gotten this, but I just thought I'd share that.

Yep. It should be just maintenance or a bug fixing update.. in any event we never know..
I can't wait to know about Spec 2.0 content. If they want to disturb Forza 4 release they should declare something before October 11th.

Nice! Now my expectations are higher than before. That means no rewind, no blurring of the cockpit view to simulate speed for the ADD crowd, no giant text messages telling me that I did a 50 meter drift, no widening of roads and no hidden assists that I can't turn off ;)

In Kaz we trust
