Anyone else thinks that the new GT-R feels absolutely brutal???

We've come a long way from the '09 GT-R. And I know haters are gonna hate but...my god this GT-R does indeed feel like a totally new one!!!

Hey guys! Firstly, merry Christmas to all who believe. Secondly, does anyone remember when the save replay option added to GT5 when exiting watching a replay after a 2P race in arcade?

Is a bright-orange Formula Gran Turismo normal? I don't think I've seen this colour before.

Yes.

Didn't Want to start a new Thread for this But Something I have been thinking about is the 200 Premium Cars Did Kaz really Choose them??

I think That Ferrari for Instance really wanted the 458 Italia to be in the game (Probably told PD to release the Tribute Trailer aswell). Also Most of the 200 cars are Super cars (very un GT like)and most aren't Japanese (same deal) so Finally My question is Did Sony and/or the Car Manufactures them selves Pushed for what cars Go the Premium Treatment ..

Thoughts?

Kazunori mentioned 3 factors that decide which cars make it into his games.

1. What KY and PD would like.

2. What the fans would like.

3. What the manufacturers want.

With Ferrari, they definitely wanted their newer cars to be in the game, just like any smart manufacturer. I just pray some of the older cars and newer race cars get attention from GT6. Ferrari F50, F360 Modena, FXX, 599 XX Evo, Testarossa, 512TR, and some classics.

I am with you on that .Good Point by the way but it seems in my opinion that the Priorities were your Orders that you stated but reversed.I think If PD had Complete Freedom we would have been Seeing a different list.

I got told off for using text speak when I first joined. It's against this forums policy. Please refrain from doing so.

PD got rid of it mid summer and then brought back with 2.0.

Just wondering you know how many people go on and on and ON! about standard cars being upped to Premium? While we all know its foolish to get an update tomorrow from PD and Boom all 800 cars are suddenly works of computer generated art. So with this grounded knowledge we point and mock these people for being dreamers.

But... heres where I stick my neck out... what if theyre right? but instead of one update to change the cars PD are doing it slowly?

The Standard cars got a bit of a revamp, and some look stunning now I will say. Then of course the big one, changing the wheels now they look even better. (Btw I think being able to put carbon bonnets/hoods on them will be next)

But while some standard cars have almost clear windows allowing you to see BOB enjoying the view from windows that were once so black ever rapper envied him. While its nice to see BOB wrestling with the wheel some of you might have noticed he seems to sit chest deep in tar.. A black block that obscures the interior (or lack of) of the car... That is until I was driving the R30 Nissan Skyline RS turbo... when in photo mode I noticed I could see BOBs little legs... No black box... not only that thought the tinted glass I could see the shape of a unique shaped dash (even complete with a little shading and shadow) no visible detail obviously, but you could see the makings of an interior that would be only for a R30 skyline... then came a little bit more, Instead of the blocky standard seats you get in those cars these were chunky, 3D...red... Yes RED they matched the car... While I might seem all overly excited (I pretty sure I am) it was a pleasant surprise to see a standard car with interior detail... Which now has turned me into one of 'those' people that believe the standards will become, or become close to premium models oneday. Be it bit by bit!

**Sorry for the long post... Ive had sugar**

Ah have they been improved or is it our perception having seen them now for over a year. Got to be honest though it hasnt really bothered me a great deal that they are standard.
Ok some do have to odd jaggy wheel arch but I dont notice it to much and I use a lot of them for online racing. I must thank PD for consantly updating and improving the game. Unlike most others who give up after the 1st patch.

I've said that in another thread. Wheel arches, license plates, borders of taillights or license plates bays are not that hart to upgrade. Bigger problem is with racing liveries, but it's also doable with some good photos.

Here is example how it could look just with upgraded textures, no 3d smoothing involved.

I saw this too and I was quite excited myself! I think it was a little after Spec II that I saw it. Or was it a little before the update? Hmm....

Oh I've never ragged on the standard cars, they turned out better than I expect what with people moaning before the games release. But now theyve added the change wheel feature the standard cars do look even better. Its the little changes that make the difference.

I think the real feather in the standard cars cap came when I was showing my friends who refused to play GT5, being the owner of an Xbox and in his mind forza is the ONLY game that exists. Needless to say after showing him and talking him through about 30 photos of both Premium and Standard cars, some close up, static and in motion pics.

He then said 'Yeah it looks cool but what about those standard car models I bet they ruin the game for you... you should take some pictures of them and show me'

The awkward moment came when I told him that a good percentage of those 30 photos were Standard cars and its only after her studied them like Columbo he found hints that they wasnt as high res models as the premiums, but needless to say, he didnt find all the standard cars.

Job done I say, when the most critical eye has trouble spotting the flaws, are the flaws really there to begin with or are we just spoiled by how good the Premiums are!

We're just spoiled by how good premiums are. I would rather PD didn't invest huge resources in upgrading standards to premium. Touch-ups would be appreciated where window pillars and arches are pixelated, but I don't see a reason to remodel when each one takes an artist 6 months.

I went back a little bit back to the A-Spec races as I did some of the races I haven't won. Last year, I did the Grand Valley round of the NASCAR Series and could only manage 4th. In my run around Grand Valley yesterday, I ended up winning that event when I could have easily lost. Part of my adjustment to this track was in careful throttle control and earlier braking than usual. It's too easy to floor the throttle in these stock cars and induce a spin.

Sadly, my Daytona adventure in NASCAR in GT5 remains sad for me. I didn't complete the race the first time because I already know I was going to lose. I still ended up winning the championship in my first run. In my attempt to actually finish the Daytona round of the NASCAR Series, I would end up getting tapped from behind and spin out. People... Superspeedway-Daytona is the oval racing equivalent of the NĂĽrburgring, in the respect of tracks I've been terrible at. Just couldn't find the winning magic often times at the Daytona oval. Considering this is NASCAR we're talking about, I'd feel guilty overpowering a stock car in a series known for close racing. But if even I gave my B-Spec drivers a Lancia Delts S4 rally car to win a round of the European Hot Hatch series, it may come to a point where I get desperate to try to win a race I am not good at by finding any loophole or gray area to try to win.
