I bet GT5 wouldn't look half as good if PD was independant from Sony, because there would have been no need to go over the top with the graphics.

I wouldn't say half- it's more like 80% but probably because it has to be made multi-platform. And it won't run at 60fps. While I won't dismiss the fact that PD is Sony's first party developer, benefitted and clearly indebted, but your statement has clearly fallen into the "chicken or the egg" classification :)

I won't buy it. And not because of the graphics.
Any questions?

Thats a shame, you are missing out on one of the great driving franchises. I played the PC version of TDU, apart from the online club error, it was great. And those screens are not a full representation of the game, TDU looked better than them, plus those a pre beta shots that weren't supposed to be released.

It's just missing the straight cut gearbox whine of the real thing, and yeah the animations don't look finished - looks like he's reaching for paddles, but that car has a sequential gear stick :)

^The stick is the handbrake... That rally car actually just uses one paddle on the right side to shift! In that way, they got it right! :)

I think nobody posted this video yet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKzlulEMpsw
1:01-1:04 is a replay sequence. Looks superb, and similar to the SLS AMG/GT5 ad

First thing that slapped into my face was that another awful sound of V8 engine in SLS. They probably never learn how to make an engine sound properly. It's sad, because some crap companies can do proper sounds already for years.

The same for the video on the top of this page. OMG, that WRC Subaru sounds awfully dead.

He is reaching and pressing the paddle, WRC cars have both paddles and stick (stick for backup).

Jay is spot on for most rally cars. Not sure Subaru have a backup stick though (see end of video), so it looks to be the handbrake.

Look at the Nascar interior!! This trailer is brand new for me at least.
I hope this is not trailer in gow3!! IT seems like PSN store trailer cuz Playstation brand was seemed in the end.

Texas motor speedway! KY was taking pics HIMSELF of the track! Do you think that may mean it is in?

EDIT: at 2:20 that car is from TRG motorsports. Their HQ is right next door to my church! :-D

Does look a bit empty with 16(?) cars
I wonder, since the cars are all the same basic model anyway, if Nascar races might be able to increase the car count in races a bit

Other than it looks jaw dropping!

Doesn't work that way I'm afraid. If you can manage to display, say, half a million polys per car (as has been reported/claimed by PD) then showing 16 cars is a cool 8million polys + track. Doesn't matter if all the cars are all identical, the engine still has to draw and colour them in, in situ.

The only hope you have is if they reduce the polys on the cars to about 250k - that might let you double the amount of cars, provided your netcode and AI processes will play ball.

actually there was only 10 cars or so on screen, another 6 will it fill out that much better
But, yeah I figure the Nascar cars, don't have real lights and such, so the models should be a lot less dense

16 is enough of SuperGT, since the GT500 class has something like 15 cars

Also those interior shadows are a lot smoother than we've seen before
And the sky is no longer burnt out!

Keep in mind that the 500K poly figure might be because of interior rendering, when damage removes body panels and reveals the guts. I doubt the poly count went up because the team increased the exterior detail.

Nice, even if it's NASCAR, something new is something new. Who knows, I myself might like NASCAR a little more because of GT5.....

Before anyone states the obvious - I know Nascar motors are racecars and the dashboard is meant to look repulsive. Just wondering if the hideous interiors will persuade any of the die-hard cockpit-view junkies to switch to the far superior bumper cam?

there will be a bonnet cam in the full GT5, which is what'll use myself. This was shown in one of the European expo demos
