It's only 10x higher for Japan.

That has to be a photoshop if it isn't an official PD image.

that's neither 10x nor 20x higher.

20,000,000 X 10 = 200,000,000

20,000,000 X 20 = 400,000,000

the total amount shown in the photo is 545,386,800

If the currency unit in-game (Cr) for a US-English version is based on US$ in real life, then the multiplier for Japan would have to be around 80x - 90x.

So conclusion is that someone used Photoshop.

That's why that photo is wrong. It's not possible in the Japan version of GT5 to get more than 200,000,000. There's blatant manipulation going on there, whether it's photoshop or something else.

FYI, Credits aren't US dollars. Credits are a simple representation of the price of cars in real life, still not the exact same. I've seen people that expect credits to be the exact same, and they weren't exactly new members to GTP or the GT series.

Definitely aren't 100% representative of actual car prices. It's within the range, and credits certainly don't represent any real world currencies.

Hmmm... But many of the prices seem somewhat realistic to me. Mazda RX-8's price (28.980 Cr.) for example is close to the RL price in €.

Especially the 50 cr car was and 250cr oil change. That's what they charge my at my local dealership.

I'm just curious (and at times, annoyed :banghead:). Do any of you guys know why PD had to make different physics for offline and online play?

I have all these tunes which work great for offline play and seasonal events, but when I get to drive in an open lobby, the game just ruins everything I worked hard for. All those hours of play, making the car drive just the way you want, wasted... :ouch::ouch::banghead::banghead:

Only PD knows. Maybe it is a Hardware or Network Problem i dont know. But i can't understand why they did this. That's stupid.

You need a slightly different engine to be able to handle the possibility of lag.

You need a slightly different engine to be able to handle the possibility of lag.

Have you got anything to base this statement on or have you just pulled it out of your behind? What does 'slightly different' mean and why does the offline engine not handle lag?

It makes no sense to me because no other game has two sets of physics offline and online.

To counter lag it's likely PD are running scripts in the main engine to (almost) predict what the other players are doing and represent this on screen reducing the appearance of glitchy driving behaviour. This probably takes a fair amount of grunt so the remaining resources are running a lighter version of the physics model found elsewhere in the game.

Just speculating.

EDIT: It's likely no other game uses all the resources the PS3 has to offer like GT5 does.

Until bandwidth levels reach zero latency, some kind of evaluation by software on each client machine is required to figure out who is doing what and represent it as accurately as possible.

But I don't work for PD, so this is purely my best guess.

But some people say the online physics are MORE realistic than offline, so that doesn't make sense.

Hadn't considered that - maybe the AI are extremely resource hungry then?

All we can do is speculate. I would have thought the offline physics would be most accurate so I'm surprised.

Okay now is ready in Spain too. (10 minutes after i checked lol)

@Moontalico it is ready to download here go and check again.

Still servers seems to be collapsed by now. It is working very bad the PSN EU. lol I can´t download it yet.

Nop, still nothing.
Still getting a black screen and after a while a maintenance notice.
But I guess it won't be like that for much more time, so I'll just keep checking..

Downloading right now. 3021MB 70 minutes left. Still the PS Store is working badly. Be patient. I tried more than 6 times before i could start to download it. (it gave me "service is under maintenance" a couple of times too)

Hope it's ok to ask in this thread, but do we know if anymore DLC is scheduled to come to GT5?

Nobody knows but with GT Academy we are going to get some prices that we can "port" to GT5.

It is not the same but by now to keep us busy and even having "new" and free cars as prices (of course being Nissans with a GT Academy logo "only")is good.

Maybe they are going to use this GT Academy period to work more in future DLC´s and the last big update for GT5. (all this is pure speculation, about Spec 3.0 and upcoming DLC tracks and cars...still nobody knows anything)
