Haha, I want the BRZ more than anything. I hope we will hear something upon the release of the Academy Edition.

Toyota FT-86 '11, Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ. So hard to tell the difference.

I dont get it, whats the big deal about this "new" subaru, we already have the toyota ft86 (or whatever) I think PD should model new cars instead of making the same one over and over again. If PD keeps this up then maybe we will not only have 100s of skylines, miatas etc. but also Brz, gt86, ft86 and so on until GT6 is released.

If I owned a BRZ in real life, I certainly wouldn't be wasting my time driving it in a video game.

Doesn't matter if he is speculating or not. He shouldn't be posting anything like that unless he has a source backing it up.

If he is just speculating why would he need a source based on a guess?

He shouldn't go around shouting dates which he has no claims to back it up because thats how rumors and confusion start. Simple as that. Somebody will inevitability come along and quote that as fact and the next thing you know we have chaos here on the forums when it don't happen. If you don't have evidence to back up such claims, best off to just keep your thoughts to yourself.

It wouldn't be the first time that it did either. The "progressive damage" myth for GT5 that was reported across the internet originally came from a GTP forum thread a week or so after the game came out.

What should we expect from TGS? More on the evolution of GT5 or an official GT6 announcement? We saw the "for_event_00" name for the supposedly secret content containing the Subaru BRZ but what should we make of it? In my opinion it would be a bad move to announce GT6 just as they release GT5 Academy Edition but neither can I see them announcing new GT5 content unless it's something radically big worthy of TGS. Another possibility is a demonstration of the future of Gran Turismo but without a specific reference to GT6.

whats the problem with them releasing an updated game, and then announcing one that wouldnt even come out for another year? in my opinion its a win-win, they get more development money to aid gt6 and people who already havent bought gt5 can have it and a little more for a very cheap price.

Fair enough.

Because people might have second thoughts about buying GT5 if Sony announces that something better is coming, even if it takes more than a year to come out. GT5 Academy Edition will most likely benefit from being the one and only as it is about to hit the shelves. GT6 could steal that spotlight.

i doubt it, gt5 academy edition was made by PD so they can get a little extra revenue out of gt5, and for people who wanted gt5 later or got their disk broken/stolen. its kinda like how COD is still releasing DLC for MW3 and yet black ops 2 is set to hit shelves in 2 months.

Not just a little extra out of GT5, they are releasing this to ensure that DLC sales maintain momentum. The Academy Edition ensures that the previously released DLC will be milked empty. After all, people who buy the platinum version of GT5 might not buy the DLC but this fully patched version gets the job done. Furthermore, it also ensures that new players are prepared to buy any forthcoming DLC. In other words, they figured that vanilla GT5 had turned into an incomprehensible mess of updates which could harm the full potential of DLC sales. Why would they want to spoil the party with a GT6 announcement?

No, I think your fear may be right. And I am glad that you replied to my original post.

Just looking through this site's news page gives you a great idea of where GT is at:

1. Nissan GT Academy

2. Nissan GT Academy drivers

3. Lucas Ordoñez

4. Lucas Ordoñez

5. Nissan GT Academy

6. Kaz racing

7. Kaz wins class

8. 500-600pp boring seasonal.

9. DLC soon! Not.

10. Buy GT XL!!

I feel like we're a test subject. Kaz is so distracted, it appears. Is he ever back in the studio? Is GT slowly...dying? Sales say otherwise (then again, GT5 is the worst selling full-numbered title, but the tone on many forums says yes.)

GT is being used as advertising for so many projects other than itself. Kinda sad really, next thing you know we are going to see little advertisments for Nissan or Toyota pop up on the screen right before the race starts.

Oh at least they won't have up worry about wiping the leader boards when they update the physics.

I've gone through some LB wipes and there not pretty.

If GT is ever going to introduce LB.
They'd better get there engine right first time.
Be happy and confident with it and stick it through.

Spec 1,2,3 etc is all well and good if there's no LB. otherwise it's a case of resetting, LB and tunes which is poo.
