Well, probably. I don't think SCEA actually understands how the new PS Store works themselves yet. Worst case scenario, we have to wait a week.

Waiting till Tuesday wouldn't be that bad.

You don't have to wait. I doubt I'm the first to find it, but, I just found it and pulled it down. Fixin' to take a peek at it.

I'll just let you in on a little something... I've slowly worked my way back into shape for Gran Turismo 5. Yeah, I was disappointed about various aspects of Gran Turismo 5, but I seem to slowly get back into playing this again. I realized just how many races I've missed from the Seasonal Events since I let my brother borrow GT5 back in March last year. It makes you wonder how you get back into the flow of GT once you stop playing it for a while. I am mostly playing GT5 now just to get more cars and even think of more stuff to blog about in regards to GT.

Great to be back in the loop of Gran Turismo (let alone GT5).

This is exactly what happened to me a while ago. GT5 was a little disappointing but it's definitely possible to make it fun, especially if you give yourself a goal or some rules to follow.

I haven't completed many of the A-Spec races on my current save, but every time I do one of those races, I try to make sure I'm driving something competitive, and I'm actually going to have a challenge.

Joining an online league really got me into the game as well during the summer. School gets in the way sometimes but I always have something to look forward to when I come home.

GT5 is pretty good once the collecting is done (several days wasted) and there's always something new to do, which is very rare on a console game released 2 years ago.

One of the things I hate about myself playing Gran Turismo 5 is the fact that I'm getting cars in GT5 that I was NEVER able to get in Gran Turismo 4. You name them, I got them: Bentley EXP GT, Toyota GT-One Race Car, Nissan R89CP (recently), and more. I think having these cars in GT5 after not ever getting them in GT4 is surely a good thing about these Standard cars.

One of a few good reasons really. Outside of what you said (I never had these cars in GT4 either) the standard cars represent a history of Gran Turismo and in some case, automotive history.

Sure, they are not as polished as the premium models, but if you stop and think about it, you can literally access an encyclopedia's worth of automotive history.

Yes, I understand that the game is Japanese heavy but if we take the Chevrolet Corvette for example we have access to just about every significant Corvette made. To me, that is awesome!

I don't want to create a new thread just for that.. so i will post it right here.

It's a small video that shows only some (of many) of GT5's physics engine flaws (it that's how it says.. ;) ) which unfortunately is very poor :/
Driving itself is ok.. well in fact it's great but only in relatively fast cars with low and hard suspension. But... the whole physics engine is just... eh..

edit: I just hope that this time (for GT6) they will REALLY make a new physics engine.. and not another probably heavely modified GT4 engine...

You see, I personally don't care about that type of stuff. I don't sit there and find flaws with GT5 or any other video game for that matter. There is a thread here that discusses the physics in GT5 and FM4 that might be right up your alley.

I just don't see the need to park the car in the middle of the track and examine the vehicles response to detect how accurate/inaccurate it is. I also do not see the point in starting the car from 5th and 6th gear because there is no game modes in GT5 that force the player to park anywhere.

Anyways, I do not want PDI to focus on addressing things like that when there are more pressing needs. For example, making sure every car can Race Modified and every track have a weather and time options should be well ahead of that.

You are discussing flaws in gt5 in the news section?

I am on my mobile otherwise I would post a link to a thread where this would take place.

That looks like it's all the same flaw: the low-speed tyre model. Sure, it's inexcusable, but it's weird to focus on that and not mention some of the actually important consequences.

The body roll one was fun, though - but how can we be sure it's not the caster angle doing that?

In a racing game for high speed driving, is the tire model at low speeds really an important aspect? maybe in the pits :ouch: aha!

This isn't an arcade game where you plant the throttle and take every corner without slowing down.

There are plenty of low speed corners in the game...

Dont get your hopes up :(

After the last interview I saw with Kaz, I don't expect anything from GT6 but complete fail in all areas.

Kaz simply doesn't car or give a **** about GT anymore, and it shows with every GT that comes out. Worse and worse and worse games.

That's a pretty strong statement. Especially when the interview in question was regarding sounds and a few days after he said that they were too real the sound of the HSV was greatly improved. I understand questioning design decisions and execution but you have to be one a very small number of people who thinks Kazunori doesn't give a 🤬 about GT.👎

As strong a statement as it is (more so since its not based on any interacting with Kaz himself), I don't see him changing his stance on it anytime soon. If thats what he really believes based solely on an interview and questionable decisions, thats it. In the end, none of us really actually knows what Kaz thinks at present so its just speculation.

I'm talking about the interview with GTP a couple months ago (or whenever it was).. Kaz made it clear that he doesn't give very much thought to the design and execution of GT anymore. Go read it.

The stuff he says made it all completely crystal clear for me- the reason GT5 has so many huge problems with GT-Life, A-Spec, AI, game flow, grinding, XP BS, useless license tests that mean nothing anymore, etc, etc, etc, etc. Unless he changes, there's no hope for GT6.

I don't care really, I'm over it. I've been a GT fan since day one of PS1 GT1. I have loved all of them, probably playing more than most on this forum, before the internet was even consequential. but GT5 was a big fat let-down, and I know why. You all just wait.

It's pretty bad when Codemasters makes better Ai and a more fun single player race experience than PD. And the Ai is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the things that are broken in GT5 that used to be the best in any race sim/ game. If you want on-line racing, GT is not the answer either, so that excuse or defense or whatever doesn't hold up. B-Spec.. what a waste of time. Bahhh. who cares. There's way better stuff on PC to get my racing fix in. All the naysayers can suck eggs.

edit-
Example.. I really wanted to fire up GT5 with my new firmware on my CSR, and do some of the seasonals that I haven't done in months.. Well, I know they'll be a waste of time- Follow the rabbit BS AI. Rolling freaking roadblocks until the first place AI. They all slam on the brakes in corners to block you if you're too close, then the stop in the middle of the road and slam on the brakes when you pass like 1980 AI would (but the ai in 1980 was better). It's ridiculous. It isn't fun. Kaz won't fix it. Kaz doesn't care about it.

Sounds like you managed to find a solution pc sims.
