F1 2010 due out September for anyone interested. Should keep people busy until GT 5 arrives.

Good news. Can you provide a link to the 2010 release news?

There seems to be a specific thread on F1 2010:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=126189

It seems this thread is the only way to follow what is going on, when you google GT5 release, it is unbelievable how much things you get that are completely outdated.

So really nice if people keep posting real news here, thanks for the past posters and thanks up front for the people that get the real news.

Sony seems to be a bit behind lately.
Panasonic and Samsung are selling 3D TV's already.

Sony, what's up, another fumble??

It looks as though Sony has all it's eggs in the same basket (PS3, 3D TV and GT5) and I hope this basket doesn't break.
If they think people are going to buy all these items because Sony wants to sell them, good luck.
Sure the same people that need the latest goodies will buy them but all the people I know personally already have the HDTV('s) and PS3('s), all we need is the games.

Sony, just release GT5 and those who can buy your products, will.
Don't wait to bundle it with PS3's and 3D TV's.
I'm sure Christmas time would be a good time for bundles, but that's 3/4 of the year (March/ December) without GT sales, which Sony needs.

Anyway..........thoughts?

If that is the reason for the delay, i can't seem to find any logic to it.
Either people are gonna buy those TV's anyway ( or already have them ), some might do in anticipation of GT5, but a lot are probably not and have to wait for a game they want to buy.
If those people ( myself included ) are finally playing GT5 they might realise their crappy TV's are not up to the job, and will therefor invest in a new TV after GT is released.
If i find out this is the reason for delaying GT5, i will still buy GT but think twice about buying a Sony badget TV.........

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synergy#Corporate_synergy

A synergy is where different entities cooperate advantageously for a final outcome. If used in a business application it means that teamwork will produce an overall better result than if each person was working toward the same goal individually.

And

Synergy in terms of management and in relation to team working refers to the combined effort of individuals as participants of the team. Positive or negative synergy can exist. The condition that exists when the organization's parts interact to produce a joint effect that is greater than the sum of the parts acting alone.

You didn't think electronics stores had displays with big HDTVs connected to surround sound systems and a PS3 showing off Blu-Ray and video games because people would just buy each part individually if they saw them sitting on the shelf in a box, did you? It is a common business practice that is well known to create a significant increase in sales of all parts.

I don't need to be fed marketing dribble about synergy, i am perfectly aware what synergy implies but what a company comes up with in marketing terms doesn't always translate very realistically from boardroom to showroom.
All these so called clever marketing tactics and strategies seem to withhold me and the rest of us from playing our beloved game apparantly.
So yes, there might be a concieved logic somewhere within those headquarters, but it's not a logic i share or even wish to understand, as i don't buy it, and certainly not going to buy their freakin 3D TV's.

Sony would prefer it if people buying a 3D TV to play GT5 were to buy a Sony 3D TV rather than a Panasonic or Samsung 3D TV, if GT5 is released before Sony are selling their 3D TVs then anyone wanting to buy a 3D TV to play GT5 will have no choice but to go for a Panasonic or Samsung (or any other Sony competitor, Philips?) then when Sony get round to selling their 3D TVs all the potential customers with GT5 already have a 3D TV from someone else.

No idea if anything like that's the case at all but it's sound logic to me.

It isn't apparently withholding anything from you as the 3D TV thing is pure speculation. The fact that there has been a lot of speculation around that tells me the logic is sound, whether you wish to understand it or not.

I am not sold on the 3D TV idea myself and would hate to think that Sony is tying GT5 to them in a way that holds it up. But as long as you and I are still going to buy GT5 when it comes out, we are telling them that we accept their reasoning (even if some exec at Sony is just doing it to satisfy some narcissistic urge). We might not accept it happily, but we accept it enough to still hand them our money.

Makes perfect sense i hate so say, maybe the whole production issues which reportedly caused the delay of GT hasn't anything to do with PD but with those d#mned 3D tellies being problematic to produce/develop.

I wasn't going to buy one anyway, and yes Foolkiller, i guess you're right, it's just speculating so sorry for sounding as i was not willing to understand the arguments you put forward.

But we have a choice if we en masse decided not to buy into the whole 3D concept by simply not purchasing it, we don't have a choice not buying GT5, that's just asking too much but i see what you mean.

I just realized something possibly in the GT5 E3 trailer...

One trend I notice in the GT5 trailers is that they are advancing time from previous points in trailers... (i.e. Jeff Gordon actually hitting the wall in the official NASCAR trailer as opposed to the E3 trailer). Maybe we coulda seen the foreboding if we looked closer... 💡

Some time (a year or two) ago I was thinking of getting a new TV, atm I have an HD ready samsung (720p/1080i) which is pretty good but I'm wanting full HD. When I realised that 3D TV was on the way I decided to hold back and wait to see what happens, over that time I've saved a bit more cash and when the time comes I'll look to see what's available and make a decision what to buy then, I'm not going to go 'I'm not buying Sony 'cos they delayed GT5 for it' but I don't know what I'm going to buy as I can't see what's on offer yet or compare.

Looks more like the starship enterprise to me.

I reacted saying i would think twice about buying a Sony TV was because i was p#ssed off frankly for what appeared to be holding back software due to a hardware problem, but it is purely speculative as i should have known.
I feel the same way like you about full HD, as i'm saving for it too, but i don't see any real advantage with 3D right now as it's still a technology that doesn't appear to be fully developed, by which i mean i doubt it really is the next big thing like HD.
But maybe i'm totally wrong, just found it frustrating that i apparantly have to wait for something i didn't realise i was waiting for.;)

Couple of years the 3D tv's will be cheaper, better and supported more. So it's better to hold off buying one.

,,Thanks to our close relationship with the manufacturers"..
yeah i know, but they're just not sharing it with their end customers:P
no form of relationship with the customers:P

OT-> I would still date Michelle, she is like one of those chicks that are easy to please. And that, turns me on! :D

BT-> Unfortunately, theres nothing new. :indiff:

=Gran Turismo 4-Ever?=

UK, March 10, 2010 - Sony's PlayStation 3 could be 3D ready as soon as this June, with reports suggesting a firmware update coinciding with the release of Sony's first 3D TV will enable the console to output in 3D.

PlayStation 3's capacity to support 3D gaming has already been touted with playable versions of Gran Turismo and Super Stardust on show at this year's CES. Now as Sony prepares to seriously enter the 3D space with the launch of its first 3D TV in Japan on June 10 it looks as if the PlayStation 3 will be following suit.

Imagine a June GT5 release date in accordance with the first 3D Sony tvs?
