I have a feeling a release date is going to be announced before E3. Why?
1) Sony is releasing their new 3D Bravias in June and GT5 would be a wonderful game to show ps3's 3D capabilities....
2)Move is also comming this summer and since gt5 can be played with move....
3)The SLS AMG is also coming this summer and will be the cover car of gt5....
I think , however, that gt5 is such big news that only an event as huge as E3 could feature the game.
Nevertheless, I think its gonna be this summer

Certainly makes sense, everyone is coupling the release date to the 3D tv technology blast and they have reasons to think so, we can only wait.

Summer makes no sense to me...

I´ve bought God of War III on monday, we´ve got an fantastic weather here since friday and I only played 1 hour...

I don't believe that the weather has much to do with a release date, actually I'm starting to believe in a worldwide release, so no matter what's the date the game will be available everywhere, and the sales are guaranteed no matter what weather we do have in country A or B.

+1, 👍 the movements look more smooth and natural, a huge improvement over Prologue. Also, the cockpit modeling made for the FT86 is just fantastic, one of coolest interiors I've have ever saw.

You're both lucky to have nice weather and exceptional in the fact you get time to go out and enjoy it.
Think carefully about what your saying, the game is sold in countries that only have bad weather, and in countries that always have excellent weather.

Not to mention a summer release in one continent would be a winter release in another continent, plus they only care if it will sell, not whether we actually play it.
If it was released in the midst of a heatwave it would probably still sell like hotcakes with all the years of anticipation behind us.
Besides, it's the total sales over its lifespan which really counts, and Sony/PD should and probably will know that.
Sitting too long in the sun is bad for your skin anyway, it might actually be more healthy to spend some time indoors playing GT5. ;)

I am not sure its gonna be released everywhere at the same time.... What i believe is that its gonna be released everywhere the same month

Do you think gt5 will be worth of your money? Unfortunately, i am not sure. First of all for me a game is worth 10$ if its so big that i won't be able to finish in a week. For a game to worth 60$ should be so huge like ff13(140h for platinum). God of War 3 is unfortunately a RENTAL(3$). I hope gt5 is big and that it will captivate me till GT6 and GT6 till FF13 Versus and FF13 Versus till GT7 and GT7 till FF15(14 is online and i don't like it), FF15 till GT8 etc.

Just a question.. Have you ever played a full GT game?

Do you seriously think that Sony cares about the weather!!!! They only care about money.... They know that whenever the game is released thousands of people(or millions most likely) are going to buy it. Even if the weather is so good and they go jogging, they will buy it and play it another day. By the way, there are gamers that don't care if its the sunniest day ever, they just PLAY games.

And let's not neglect the fact that while half of the world is in Summer, the other half would be in Winter, and vice-versa...💡

yeah, like got close to completing it.

Yes but that was LONG ago. GT5 can be different however, all the emphasis placed on graphics and not enjoyable driving. I don't think so because there have been 5 years but every new game(except ff13) seems to be so small.... Hope for the best and prepare for the worst, a wise man once said.... In Kazunori we Trust

Ahem!

some 1000 cars, 70 or so tracks and online races.

We don't know about the amount of events but the things mentioned above are more than capable of providing hundreds of hours of gameplay.

I think that graphics-wise GT5 will be as severe to the PS3 as GT4 was for the PS2 (its graphics were amazing by the standards at the time), and we managed get a pretty darn looooong close-to-never-ending-game. Why would GT5 be differently (not accounting the "online" factor which, in this games is the same as a game that actually doesn't have an end!)?

I think online as an extra, so i will propably not spend more than 5 hours in online. I am not going to race every single car on every track and i am not aiming on a platinum for gt5. I am aiming for enjoyable driving

The series carries the name of the real driving simulator. That means that it simulates driving and doesn't necessarily make it fun. I happen to think simulation is fun though.

After all a million whining idiots can't be wrong, can they?

Man! I just hope they put the right damage in play. I'd rather have the damage where your transmission heats up when over revving the engine rather than just some dents on the outside (which we already know will happen to some extent). It's those morons that would buy the game just to turn it into Burnout. Imho, they aren't worthy of GT5 and will likely be the retards who intentionally crash into everyone in the public rooms just cause they are protected by the anonymity of online play.

Two 24-hours race and you have 48 hours of gameplay:)

Anyway, I still play GT5P after 2 years. So no, I'm not worried about GT5. Actually, I will probably need more free time when GT5 arrives:D

As I've said before in this thread I reckon there will be very little (if any) mechanical damage to production cars. For the same reason they only have scuffs and scratches - the car companies don't want their product shown in a bad light.

My logic is pretty straightforward - given that the car looks okay, except for some scuffed paintwork the detrimental effect (from the manufacturers perspective) of having a car that looks fine driving along with the feeling of busted suspension, jammed in 1st gear, only firing on one cylinder, overheating brakes and the steering jammed all the way to the left is going to do their image a lot more damage than if the car actually looked wrecked.

This is the reason I think mechanical damage will be negligible. I hope I'm wrong. I could get behind mechanical damage, since it would add depth to the gameplay but without it the cosmetic damage is nothing short of retarded and pointless.

Firstly, I race cleanly and that way you can appreciate more when you actually manage to pass someone on the track, BUT if something goes wrong, and cars crash into each other or the barriers, I DON'T want to see pinball machine hilarity with cars bouncing around like solid peaces of metal!:yuck: That's unrealistic, retarded and breaks the illusion and immersion game tries to achieve!👎
And I'm not talking only about visual damage and effects, it must be followed by mechanical damage, because one without the other is plain stupid!(imagine a scene after a crash: perfect looking car which wont move, or totally wrecked one which goes like nothing happened!)
Also, there is some psychology involved, because you would start to care more for your cars and how you drive them(I'm guessing we'll have to pay for the repairs, which is logical), and that would ultimately make better and more aware drivers in my opinion.💡
p.s. ...and yes, there are some cars which I would like to wreck on purpose!:dopey:

Agreed. I still play gt5 prologue too, but not like i played it 1 year ago

GT4 took 460 hours to reach 100%.

If the rest of the game is up to this standard then we have nothing to worry about...
Oh yeah?:nervous:
There's clipping on the character model(things go through each other), shadows are jagged, and those belonging to trees are all messed up, shifting animations are lagging, there's no g-forces(physics)(or even canned animations) applied to the character model, so he doesn't move forward when braking/backward when accelerating/to sides in corners(only the head follows the corner according to steering wheel position)...
It can surely be better than this.;)

The drivers move foward from G's in GT5P so im pretty sure it will be in GT5 im very pleased with that driver view some people are just so picky what other game takes the time to show you a driver cam? Its pretty good IMO 👍

You're clearly more of a perfectionist than I am. :)

It's way better than anything seen before (I think) and if PD try and get it perfect then, well, we won't ever see another GT released ever again.

👍

More cars, the potential for more tracks. That makes it almost necessary to increase the amount of offline events.

So if anything, GT5 is going to be bigger than GT4 was. (And GT4 was one of the most in-depth games... well, ever.)

Now if PD have outdid themselves and the rumours of the track editor and livery editor in this game are true, this is going to be one absolutely epic game.

GT is not all about graphics. They just complete the feel of the game and give it that extra touch of realism (If only they spent so much time and effort on the physics as they did graphics ;D Well, I think they have for GT5, but thats another story)

Show me one game where it looks better and more natural.

Im a bit surprised that so many people havent noticed more or less the same in GT4 though.
