That sums quite a lot since Gamescom 09.

hahahaha

If it's not realistic then what's the point? At least with no damage you have a point - "we don't do damage". That's fine - that's a design decision. Personally it's one I can get behind - if you want to see cars getting wrecked go play burnout but with this level of damage it just comes off as retarded. What's the point? Like at all? Why bother?
Has someone been away from this planet for a few years?

You obviously don't remember the years of caterwauling from a few people about Gran Turismo not having any damage, while games such as Forza have limited basic but pretty good damage, both graphic and mechanical. When it was pointed out that it was as little as 25% accurate, the response was "Some damage is better than nothing." ;)

And frankly, seeing as no game has accurate damage implementation, I'm thinking your point matters to you and maybe one other person in this thread.

But hey, you don't have to buy it. Me and about 10 million other folk are going to gobble this game up and disappear for an indefinite period of time...

The Pentagram does have a point. I mean, I am watching a car travel fast into a concrete wall, yet, only a bumper hangs off 25%. I see no scratches or scuffs. Then again, I don't think damage is on high in this video. Nonetheless, I'll take any damage.

I just want to see some cars in the Super Car class ram each other with GT5's full damage on. Maybe E3.

*envisions an F1 barreling into a 560-4 which smacks directly into the rear of a ZR1 that smashes the front end of a Viper ACR that skids into a 458 Italia which bangs up against the side of an Enzo Ferrari who cannot help avoiding the SLR McLaren in front of it*:dopey::)

That would be good:tup: and on the end of the video would be nice to see orange F1 LM

Considering that street cars weren't supposed to have more than scratches?

I'm sure this will erupt into a passionate debate with a handful of people. But as for me, and most people, we'll be racing while boarders are arguing.

The mk3 had 335hp just like the mk1. The mk3 was just a mk1 with softer suspension and lower CR, 9:1 vs 10:1.
As for the Miura being very fast for it's time, I never said it wasn't.

Actually, you did...

Is that even a race though?
The Miura was not really a very fast car, more of a soft GT car. The ferrari was a race car but it wasn't that light and it wasn't very powerful. The GT40 would have no problems with either of the two cars. It would be sort of like Racing the Enzo FXX vs an Alfa 8c and a 599.

As for being a race, I was referring the GT40 road version. But even on track, although on a lighter body, the same engine, with some modifications, ferrari won the 24hrs Le Mans against 3 GT40 cars (250 LM, driven amongst others by Jochen Rindt). That was the last overall Ferrari win at Le Mans. As a curiosity the engine fitted in the 250 GTO was also a derivation (with side valves and different lubrication system layout) from the one originally built for the 250 Testa Rossa, back in '56. So the GTO actually is equipped with a project that, at the time, was almost a decade old! This only credits the magnificiency of the wonderfull V12 piece of art.

All three cars are outstanding and pretty much levelled on their road going versions (stock), albeit their differences in conception (GTO mid.front engined / Miura+GT40 mid.rear engined).

As for the value, another aspect of that makes the 250 GTO so much valuable is that all the 36 cars original built still remain in mint conditions today and several are still raced in very exclusive events by their owners.

However this isn't yet the most valuable Ferrari. That honour fits a 1957 250 Testa Rossa that was bought in 2009 in auction by € 9,5 Millions.

This is pretty much (still) reflexes from the aborted intention from Ford buying Ferrari in the beginning of the 60's. In fact the GT40 - developed in the UK - was Henry Ford Jr.'s reaction of Enzo refusing to sell. "I shall build a car that will crush Ferrari in the track" he eventually had said. Enzo is quoted replying after beasting the GT40's on track - "Some race to be able to sell cars. We sell cars so we can race."

Enough with the off topic - my apologies for that!. Bottom line is all three of these cars (Miura, 250GTO and GT40) are brilliant and do represent what, to me is the "golden age" of auto industry 👍

FFXIII and GOWIII are out, what other game can be tagged as a huge bomb? GT dude. ;)

In fact, the text is elusive at a point of fuzzing things, he pointed "exclusive", but as PD is owned by Sony it's more than obvious that GT5 it's Sony's exclusive title, why do he explained things this way then?

We can only expect GT5 at E3, because the whole gaming world will be looking for it, so it's chance to impress everyone with what they were cooking for the last five years.

This doesn't add too much, but thanks anyway.

And, up to this point pretty much everybody is just waiting for a official release date so I think GT5 doesn't fit in what I'd considered as "a huge bomb" (in my reading meaning a surprise).

The Mk 1 GT40 had 400Bhp during its first run. The Mk 2 ran 485Bhp & the Mk 4 ran at 500Bhp. These were all raced & thus, the high power output. When the Mk 3 was street-ready, Ford turned it down to make it more street-friendly.

As bullie quoted, you did. 👎

But we know very little about the game and its features, a 'huge bomb' could be them revealing a lot more info, and obviously a release date. So I think Dan is right.

If we get nothing at E3... That would be pretty bad. But after all, it's only a video game, we can just get on with our lives in the meantime and check this forum occasionally for info, like most of us have been doing for a while now.

:D, I'm trying to do so, but we had two videos and three days of consecutive news, it's impossible to resist the temptation and stay away from GTP.

Also, if E3 just don't give us news, we will have to wait till TGS, which means they will officially unveil the game, since TGS is near the dates we're speculating. So, after some months, it will be win or win for us. ;)

I have a feeling a release date is going to be announced before E3. Why?
1) Sony is releasing their new 3D Bravias in June and GT5 would be a wonderful game to show ps3's 3D capabilities....
2)Move is also comming this summer and since gt5 can be played with move....
3)The SLS AMG is also coming this summer and will be the cover car of gt5....
I think , however, that gt5 is such big news that only an event as huge as E3 could feature the game.
Nevertheless, I think its gonna be this summer

Of course I'm going to buy it. First thing I'll do is turn off the lameass damage and play the hell out of it til GT6 arrives.

I'm with you. 👍

Of course if we have to race with damage (license, career, whatever) it shouldn't be a nuisance if the AI can keep the racing clean. :odd:
If not, oh well, restart. :ouch:

Summer makes no sense to me...

I´ve bought God of War III on monday, we´ve got an fantastic weather here since friday and I only played 1 hour...

Even if the game is ready, an fall release makes more sense :( they missed the christmas release...

You're both lucky to have nice weather and exceptional in the fact you get time to go out and enjoy it.
Think carefully about what your saying, the game is sold in countries that only have bad weather, and in countries that always have excellent weather.

Do you seriously think that Sony cares about the weather!!!! They only care about money.... They know that whenever the game is released thousands of people(or millions most likely) are going to buy it. Even if the weather is so good and they go jogging, they will buy it and play it another day. By the way, there are gamers that don't care if its the sunniest day ever, they just PLAY games.

True. Maybe I'm mistaken of course. Maybe depicting a slight scuffing on the surface of a car bumper after it crashes into a concrete wall at 200+mph does somehow make the game much more realistic and totally enhances gameplay. I'll just have to wait and find out. After all a million whining idiots can't be wrong, can they?
