This is ridiculous, of course we will have interior view for all cars. Due to the high level of detail of the cars, you can actually see their interior, so here's my question: It's possible to see the interior of a given car fully modeled but impossible to have a camera from the cockpit? C'mon, even GTPSP did the cockpit view in a lame way, but it did. GT5 will have it.

This is not a fanboy'ish statement, it's just a logical conclusion.

How a car without cockpit will have 500.000 polygons?
How do they mixed together?
How i can see interior and driver in one car then see black windshield on the next.

No.It's BS!I bet all cars will have the interior.Otherwise i don't see a reason to buy GT5 or even wait for it.

Sorry for double post but could someone explain the difference between premium and non premium cars please.

Right it was something that came up in an interview or whatever a while ago basically went like this:

Premium Models: Racecars/Rally Cars and would feautre full damage and deformation.

Standard Models: Productions Cars and would feature limited damage and little to no deformation.
But these have been thrown around so much nobody fully knows what it means

The LP 560-4 had an interior view at CES, so that stands for something, and let us bot forget Prologue. I think you'd have to be insane to let yourself believe that only a select few will have an interior view. The best answer is usually the most obvious one.

If you've been around these boards for some time, you will remember other instances where translations went wrong and where fans became upset. This is likely another one of those times.

And we've definitely seen more proof to support a cockpit view, CES demo (LP 560-4), Prologue, TGS 2009 (458 Italia).

So, again, breathe deep and calm down. Believe what you see. :)

Standard cars less detailed damage which means scratches
Racing cars like WRCs nascar GTRs more detailed damage.
170 premium models will have interior
This is First GT title for PS3.GT6 will have more interior modeled cars
I don´t want to believe it, but it makes too much sense from a developers point of view. Also, has anybody seen the interior of a "standard" car. When I say standard I mean the ones who are supposed to come from GT4 and are not Supercars.

And this isn´t really news, in 2009 when GT5 specs where released in the official japanese GT page, it also said "170 cars full damage and interiors".

If GT5 had 1000 cars with interiors modeled, rain, day/night cycle, 70 circuits, etc... Who would buy Granturismo 5.5 with just a few more circuits and cars two years later?

This said, I am quite mad at Poliphony right now. What I don´t understand is why doesn´t Kazunori come the F out and say "Look, this is what Gran Turismo 5 is going to be and the features it is going to have". He is not a Racing driver, he is a game developer. If he prefers driving cars than doing games, he had better leave the job for somebody who cares more than him to take it.

P.S: AAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaarrgh!!!!!

Guys there was an interview where KY said that classic and premium are no more, he said no bikes in GT there too.

Someone please provide this with a link...and if there's a statement about all cars having the cockpit view, post it. I can't find anything...

I think it was a mistranslation, what he probably meant was 170 cars have interior modelling as in not cockpit but underneath the body panels.
Rally cars for example, the rear quarter panels can come loose and undernearth that is modelled, on road cars that 'interior' would not be modelled.

Whatever is true, one thing is certain, PD needs proper PR ( who understand English ).
Not knowing what features or cars, tracks, etc. I can handle perfectly well but that one interview by a magazine can cause an aspect more or less expected by most to become uncertain again whether by translation error or a wrong assumption on our part shows they just don't take PR very seriously.

That they don't want to fully show what we can expect is logical and, although maybe frustrating, fully understandable.
What is inexcusable is that they casually throw around conflicting pieces of info they seemingly are willing to share, and just disregard the effect it has.
If this was an old interview I wouldn't worry, but since it appears to be very recent I'm starting to doubt they've changed the initial plan once again.

So either it is tragically true and GT5 isn't in my opinion going to be the game I was expecting or it is just the uptheenth time something is mistranslated, misunderstood or just made up by a magazine.
The first option is the worst one IMHO as it really affects the final game, the other possible options are avoidable by hiring someone to handle PR properly.

I believe since PD tie in so closely with manufacturers and advertising that:

Cockpit view does not equal interior view.

I think there will be 170 "premium" cars modelled to TV advertising levels that will allow a full inside view from any angle, like you would see in an advert. Maybe this time there is an interior view photo mode?

The other 900 odd would have cockpit view.

Either way I'm not that fussed as they already modelled the cockpit of the Elise for Prologue. I hope they modelled your favourite car too just in case.

Totally, the whole language difference does make statements that come out begging more questions than providing answers and interrpretations of said answers by another scource could be wrong. Maybe they like it that way, keep people guessing or talking about it. But as already mentioned it's bad PR.

I think it's likely interior isn't the same as cockpit view, looking at GT5P there's a bunch of cars in there that I wouldn't class as premium yet they have a cockpit view.

"Standard models won't have an interior view, less detailing and no crash model. The problem is that premium models take a lot of time to create and we wanted to include many more vehicles than before. To make premium versions of all the cars we want to put in would take ten years or more and I don't think people are prepared to wait long!"
C'mon! We're already half way there! :dopey:

I'm seriously surprised some people find this true.
