Exactly, GT4 HD or GT HD Classic would be much better than this situation. Now we've been missing Nordschleife and Le Mans for several years and surprise factor of GT5 will never be the same like if we never saw GT5:Prologue.

hmmm and you think they don't show new tracks :) ?

New Fuji from recent trailers is just sooo sweet. Not bland and boring like in prologue (still lookes gorgeous).

I always think Hope for the best prepare for the worst is good term in life and in any other part of our life for eg gaming. but you seriously downplay Kaz :)

Still to this day there wasn't any real official uncoverage of GT5. :)

E3 will be amazing this year for me :)

Sorry to carry on the issue but I think a properly upscaled HD version of GT4 is a great idea. I, like all of us here, love that game but it looks terrible on a HD telly. So much so that for me it's unplayable.

I think you may not be setting your PS3 to the optimum setting. I play GT4 regularly on my Sharp Aquos, and it looks quite good considering it's a PS2 game. As long as you have your PS3's PS2 upscaling set to "Full Screen" (upscales GT4 to 1080p) and "Smoothing On", you shouldn't be too disappointed.

Furthermore, the physics are the main concern for me, regarding a GT4+ version on PS3. The graphics I can live with honestly (still blows me away what they could achieve on the PS2), but the physics would need a huge revamp. Add GT5 physics (or even an updated version of GT3's physics), to the GT3/GT4 formula, and I would be happy for quite some time.

Add the "Race Modification" feature (from GT2), and PD could honestly take another 2 years on GT5 for all I care.

My .02 cents...

Not really, my opinion is based of the 1000+ car enthusiasts I've conversed with over the past 10 years at car meets, races, events. I've found "car people" to not really talk about cars in their daily lives. It's usually everything but. I've had my non-car friends point out that when they hang out with me and my car buddies, even when working on cars, we don't talk about them. Again, opinion based on my experiences.

You're right. I got nerd and enthusiast backwards. Nerds, by definition, don't actually partake in the physical activity they are "nerding" out about. I was one before so I mean no disrespect. Sorry.

I'll respectfully disagree.

You know when I first picked up GT from an import store, way before it was well known and big, it blew me away. This was back when I was big into modding cars.

I rang up Fast Fours and Rotaries magazine, a local mag that covers all that stuff here for compact cars, and told em about how awesome this game was and you can do all the tuning and mods on cars like in real lfie and that the cars look like the real things etc and that they need to do an article on it. Dean Evans was the man I put all the info too, as editor of the mag. Well they went out and got a PSX and GT, he loves it. I bumped into him a few months later at a modified car expo and we had a good chat about it. Back then he owned a souped up white Nissan Pulsar GTI-R import, I have the issue of FF&R here with an article of his car.
These days he works for Motor magazine and a bunch of other things, is a big car nerd obviously, and races and does all things cars. He did dream of owning a Ford GT and what not a while back.... and is still into GT in a big way...obviously....

there are plenty of people just like him, and most of the motor mag and press people I suspect

That Lotus video must be on Bathurst, a track wich I hope we will get in GT5... The first time I raced on it (must be in Toca3 on PS2) I loved it... Amazing course!

I'd say that it is Bathurst considering it say's it's Bathurst at the start of the video :sly:.
Even if it didn't though, Bathurst in an unmistakable track anyway.

Oh, Bathurst. I am almost exact antipodean to that place but that track is just marvelous. It would make GT series much more interesting just to have this track. It's legend similar to Nordschleife and has great variety and elevation changes.

David Jaffe’s already said the currently circulating E3 List is “not accurate”, and a quick chat with Sony just now would suggest the same too. The official line is that they’re not commenting, but we’re fairly confident that no publisher would know what the other publishers are up to at this particular stage, and certainly not in any such detail.

It does seem to read like a gamers wet dream, mind – Battletoads, Gears Of War 3, Killzone 3, Resistance 3 – but we’re sceptical. Still, God of War 3: Afterfall… But if one developer’s already ruling the list out we’re inclined to go with our instincts and say the list – at least as it stands just now – doesn’t hold much weight. Still, we’re happy to be proved wrong.
