So what would you talk about GT5? No infos, nothing we have...

Ah sleep deprivation; it's a curious thing!

(Vergeben Sie mir den Scherz; ich meinte keine Beleidigung damit!)

Just because GT5 might not be "first to market" with an implementation of a given "technology", that won't necessarily mean it'll be overlooked, or inferior, or anything else, even.
Sure, it'll have a mild disadvantage, but GT5 will be a bigger game than TDU2; even without weather and changeable time of day, GT5 should totally eclipse TDU2 in most markets.

There is something about GT that makes it better than it's competition. Every other racing game I play, I'm constantly comparing it with GT (And not just the usual graphics, physics, sound, AI, I mean everything.)

These features like Dynamic weather etc. are just icing on the cake. Other Cakes also have icing, but the actual cake isn't as large nor as Sweet as the GT cake. I forget where I was going with this... Now all I can think about is cake.

Quote: And with the 10000th post in this thread, I hereby declare us extremely desperate for GT5.

Did anyone think when this post started that we'd reach 10000 replies before GT5 was released?

I didn't but I'm not sure it will be out before 15000 at this moment :)

Not sure anymore... :dunce:

Did you guys too notice that there are more and more rumors that hint at a june/jule release date? I don't want to sound too optimistic and I know that there is nothing official, just saying that i noticed in the last two weeks about 5 rumors (most of them on german boards) saying that the game will ship this summer.

It's just something I noticed because those rumors came from different sources and since March i expected a summer release (3D TV's, E3 and the fact that there aren't released that much games in summer, which means less competition), I know well that the internet is full of this stuff, it's just that right now almost everything points to the summer timeframe. :)

I also noticed this shift towards June/July and with nothing confirmed yet it is possible, although next week is also possible......
It is GT5 ( you never know what to expect ), so I expect ( or hope ) it to be released somewhere this Autumn but anything sooner will be great but do not get your hopes up too much, still rumour and gossip and nothing concrete.:)

I still can´t imagine an 2010 rls :nervous:

There are too less informations, I can´t imagine that they make an E3 blowout and give us an winter release date, that sounds too fast... and to good to believe...

I don´t know how that was with GT3 or GT4? We got nearly 6-7 months (gosh I don´t wan´t to think about it, I hate the winter :D ) to the winter... I think they got to start the promotion now... Or they make a big surprise and release it without any advertisement... It will sell anyway, maybe better than with? Viral marketing works great 👍

So they also can save the promotion money for an Porsche DLC :D

Warning: n00b question coming...

How the hell does one view in-car replays? All I am able to get are bumper and TV like replays :/

PS; dues to complete lack of hype, I once again predict 12/2010-03/2011 release :|

You can switch through the view with... either select or X. I really can't remember. lol
But it's one of the two.

EDIT: AI cars don't have a cockpit view though.

I know the "X" changes from bumper to TV, haven't found in-car. I'll try the select button :)

Yeah, then it is select.
With X you switch to the alternate cams and with select you change them.

A feature which we have since GT1. ;)

Guys, has anything at all been said about whether or not GT5 will support sequential reverse? This is one of my biggest pet peeves of previous GT games. Having to actually press a button for your car to go reverse instead of doing it through the gearbox when driving MT. It is also incredibly inconvenient when using a wheel.

Nope.

But I hope it will be in the game too, even as a pad user, because one extra button could be helpful.

I honestly don't hope for a "blowout" at E3... here the reasons:

- PD/KY said many times there are so many things to discover in the game and they/he wants players to discover it by themselves. So why revealing thigs then ? untill now I think we got the point and I really dont think it will change (Even though a certain "GT" guy was predicting hurricane of news and annoucements... which i think it came into his mind after smoking an entire pine tree forest...)

- Lets see the other hand, SOONY, at this point of time for their black cubic jewel, they are aiming 2 things.3D and Ps Move... Even if they have some blockbusters in the pocket (like GT5) I hardly think we will anything else than these about SOONY. Since PD/KY looks really linked to SOONY during conferences and shows, I think the GT5 info will be less, except maybe about its interaction with both 3D/Move.

Hope I'm wrong, but honestly guys, except a 3D CES demo booth at E3 floor, don't put your hopes too high ;)

Well, I have to disagree for the most part. It doesn't have to reveal ALL things, but it has to reveal something worthy. If SOONY wants to move consoles, GT5 is possibly the best way to do that. In order to do that, hype needs to be generated. Other than us lunatic fans, many people don't yet care or even know a single thing about the game. Look again at us insanely passionate fans; how much do we (as, GT nuts, know?) Not much at all; so take into account the average skeptical gamer and how little they know.

Because of SOONY's 3D push, I expect to see GT5 3D. And that can only bode well for GT5 news.

In conclusion: SOONY wants to begin marketing GT5 this June, the middle of the year. SO why not shed some light onto what GT5 will feature? People want to know what it will have.

I have the same concern. It amazes me PD/Kaz can be so fanatical about some details and completely ignore some basics, as they did for GT5p, including the limited camera view options.

@SrRd

Well, I think you didn't really get the point of my post (or maybe I did explained it really well).

Of course SOONY must advertise on that game, because it's what we are use to. Big advertissement campaign few months before to make sure everybody focus on your product.

What I'm saying is that till now it really doesn't looks to be like that, just for example you can look at TDU2 or Cody's F1, even the game is in a Beta version of their Alpha version they communicate to put the hype on it.
GT5 doesn't need it, even lots of people doesn't know it. The fact is that people who don't know the game or are not fans will definitly wait for some magazines or websites reviews about it. Only fans will go buy it eyes closed...

So the option they have been taking for years now is the Buzz type. Since GT5:P people saw the potential. And all GT5 leak of info becomes a buzz nowadays.

Imagine what would happen if they release the game without advertising, or maybe just one week before... The fans will go straight on it (could even look as a civil war since i hardly think there will be enough copies) and he word will spread around very fast...

I am not saying it will happen like that, just that it could...

I just want to see:

Demo (updated)

Trailer

Release date

Feature list

And of course GT5 can sell itself, but that's not the mindset of Sony. The mindset is gain money and lots of it. Dedicated fans will get GT5 regardless, but it'll take more efforts to grab new fans. And that's why E3 should produce something very powerful. And it doesn't have to be a presentation huge in size, just content. Something informative. :)
