Hey @ all: How about the following idea:
When finally the day of GT5 release arrives would you record the moment of the first start up / or even the purchase in the store...
I guess many funny, interesting etc videos would come out if this!

Not this, but I did record the first ever lap replay in GT4 and had a few laughs afterwards looking it :D ..but I also remembered how great it felt at the time. I recommend 👍

You know what? That's given me an idea. Remember how in GT2 how it has the Race Car upgrade option? Well maybe that's returned to GT5 and the reason we see road cars marked as "Premium" are cars that can be upgraded to Race Car and have damage etc..

You know what? I REALLY really think this idea is damned cool, man if this turns out to be true, I'm gonna cry.

IMO GT without damage was fine:indiff:

That about sums up my opinion too.

It was more than fine, each game has sold around 10 million copies.

I will keep the damage on, no matter how frustrating it is (Except maybe for 24 hour races). But it'll just be the same game, because when I crash hard, it feels like i've lost the race anyway. I drive conservatively for a reason.

But from what i've read, many GT1-4 fanatics are simply going to switch damage off (Providing they have the option to).

I'm looking forward to the release, but treating it like a newborn baby and having photo-albums/videos of the first steps is taking things a bit too far in my opinion...

Although when I finally do slip that disk into the drive, I might have to change my own nappy.....:D

I've asked such question about 100 pages ago...
How about tuning?I mean IF premium cars are RACE cars so if I upgrade my car to racing spec - will it be premium or not?Very interesting how PD make game upon normal/premium cars.(and now tracks)

Has anyone data about what is being more discussed:
GT5 release or the big bang theory ???

I guess Einstein would turn round in his grave if he knew...or maybe he would join Kaz's team to speed things up! LOL

I am having exactly the same feeling...
I don't know if I should be worried about it, but this waiting is really driving me mad. I never waited so apprehensively for a game.
Even when I was I child (now I have two daughters) waiting for Christmas gifts was not like this.

I am even anxious for E3 which is still not the real thing...

...that's 'healthy insane'

no you shouldnt be worried i am sure alot of people including me have the same feeling. once you hold the game in your hands that feeling will make you forget all about this wait.

Oh, so you have the game already? :sly:

Well no but, damage annoys me in a way. Maybe I'm just obsessive compulsive and like things to be neat and perfect 100% of the time. But damage doesn't really seem to suit Gran Turismo, or at least thats what I think because I've come used to GT not having damage. It'd be like the Queen of England announcing she's getting married to a 25 year old man.

I know how u feel Heath1, same here. I get pissed off if my ps3 console has a scratch, or a new one found on my car. I also like things neat and tidy. Damage looks cool when u look at it on gt5 videos, but hell no, it never interested me in anyway. I'll always have it turned off if allowed.

Just saying you shouldn't be so set against the idea before actually playing the game.

I for one have wanted to see damage in a Gran Turismo game for years now. Not because I wanna see demolition derby, though. It's because the damage model in Forza (Forza 2, to be accurate) has (IMO:lol:) made me better in racing games, since I couldn't just use the other cars as brakes like I could in GT. So I had to learn how to actually pass cleanly and properly learn the racing lines for the tracks, among other things. Just my two cents!

Just a thought on the damage and the movable objects on the tracks. Could the body parts and track barriers block the racing track? Will PD implemet some sort of safety car clean up period?

Could be, and this is where the PS-Move comes in, you have to use it to operate the little crane which moves all the debris away.
If you don't buy the Move and this will happen, you're basically screwed as those tracks become undriveable until you buy a PS-Move.......

Hmmmm, I like the crane idea. Never really considered a car being completely undrivable. I do plan on getting the move. If I can't qualify for a race I have no problem waving the flags and picking up pieces.

👍

I can't understand people complaining about damage without even having played the game ...I'm pretty confident that the mechanical and visual (at least the one for race cars) damage model will please every GT-player as the quality standards for PD are extremely high ...and for those few who don't like it, there is always the option to turn it off.

Me too keep the damage on, my fear is how its gonna be represented in game! If is not good that point level down GT, and GT always was pefect to me, even whitout damage, from that i say "GT without damage was fine".
For most of us, even without damage we "race" like if damage exists (i talk for previous GT games) that behaviour makes you to race better, at the point that you never even scratch the car.

I think that having damages in the game will make it more 'real driving simulator', even though they will limit the maximum damage.
I am going to play conservative in any event, but I think that this is a further step towards reality. It did not make sense to see cars hitting each others as billiard balls on a pool table

I wish E3 would hurry up already . I'm gagging for some new information, screens and videos. I feel like a 5 year old 6 days before Christmas day. Just dying to find out what Santa has brought.

It's always a refreshing place around here when there is fresh news. I love seeing people's spirits renewed; all smiling and feeling good.

I'd just like the ambiguity to be wiped clean. Too many questions left unanswered. Too much premium worry. Too much interior view worry.

Its only next tuesday, not that far away:sly:

To quote Bob Marley: "So much trouble in the world"!

I won't be recording anything but, my God, it'll be the best case of 'new game smell' ever

*Ahem*

Well that sucks, I go away on the day that e3 starts. I guess i'll have to do some serious catch up when i get back. This place will be on fire i bet

I had a quick scan before posting this to see if it's already been covered and couldn't find anything ...

On one of the recent vids from the 'Ring features the track selection screen and underneath, much like the vehicle selection screen, it says 'Premium' ... I'm really struggling to comprehend what this could mean?
