It was me. He drove faster than a journalist and a road tester. His team featured 1 professional racing driver, who was the fastest.

The others like Kaz had racing experience but weren't professional racing drivers. There was no point bringing it up again really. If he had dedicated his life to racing he might have been a great driver and he might not have been, we don't know. There's plenty of racing drivers who can drive as fast or faster than Kaz. If I'm knocking him down it's only off that stupidly high pedestal some people place him on, he's a great driver compared to me but I bet he'd get thrashed racing against Jason Plato or Matt Neil in a BTCC race. Ultimately though what matters isn't how fast he can race, but how he can use the experience to improve Gran Turismo.

Well said. 👍

Yes after watching so many vids of the ring on GT5 it does look really good and exact.

About the noise. I wonder what that noise is clack clack clack when he goes tight and slow in the curves? Front of the body hitting the ground? I don't know.

Sounds more like rocks hitting the inside of the wheel wells.

After watching Kaz on the ring, a few things really stood out to me.

1 - Kaz is an absolute professional behind the wheel of a high performance car. Yes, we all knew that, but his skill set while on a challenging track shines through. He was so relaxed.

2 - PD has the Ring down. After watching all those GT5 demo videos, and then being treated to Kaz's 10 minute video, I applaud PD's attention to detail even more so then before.

3 - The lighting and shadows in that cockpit of that Lexus look realistically re-created in GT5P and the GT5 demo's we have seen.

4 - I heard some high pitched tire squealing in that video during some corners. Another case in where I tip my hat to PD.

That video provided an excellent reference to why the Gran Turismo series is so good.

At least I got Red Dead Redemption (someone bought it for me, don't ask me why ) and Le Mans this weekend, both will help a lot. :)

While that is true, his lap times were very close. As was his team's finishing position within the class. You might not find that kind of thing remarkable, but I'd give almost anything to be that "average." :D

I hardly think putting any racer from any other genre in that bumper car fest is going to mean anything substantial. ;)

This vid isn't new, but I just don't remember seeing this particular one, and I've found it quite comical, specially the part when the guy looks about the cockpit whilst driving, and sees both doors flapping ridiculously.

Also going to be the slowest week of my life and plenty other gt planet readers. Going to be many mornings or afternoons loging on to the website and finding thers no new news.

Woah, so true...even so, im feeling scared of not getting anything :nervous:

Same here, although I think we will get something. Just try to expect the worst, and then you probably won't be as disappointed. It's sad that we have to think like that though. :(

Yes, if the damage is not done in real physics realistically, there must be at least 8 modes of damages for us because we often memorize 7 things at most

Now before I say what I'm about to say.. I would like to make it VERY CLEAR that I am NOT trying to start a bunch of arguements from saying this.. But in Mimaximax's most recent video, ALL the cars are premium, and going along with the assumption that production cars will have limited damage.. Why are all the cars in that demo premium?? Before seeing that I was on the side that thought ALL cars would have interior view... but now..

After watching that video I'm now starting to believe that it is 170 that will have interior view and that it had nothing to do with damage...

I really hope this is cleared up at E3! Here's hoping..

^^^ Sad but can be true. Now I know for sure - ALL can happen.
About cockpit view.Remember February PSM?They said that GT5 will have IRL cars and all cars have cockpit view.In the next PSM they correct themselves and said: "sorry no IRL, it's a mistake".But they said nothing about cockpit. So we can hope that all 1000 cars will have it.(Otherwise it makes no sense for me.I do not need anything if there is no cockpit view in the car.(IMO)

Anyway. This weekend gonna be crazy for me!
I've got Super Mario Galaxy 2,Metroid Prime Trilogy and God of War Trilogy this Thursday...(all very very very best games at once!)

I wouldn't see why ALL the cars won't have cockpit view. Cockpit damage might be a different story. Premium I'm not going to get into, but I do believe all cars will have an interior view for driving. If NFS Shift can do it, why can't GT?

80 odd cars vs 1000...

I'm not saying they wont all have a modelled interior, I sure hope they do but I am starting to prepare myself if they don't. :indiff:

I'm prepared too...
Maybe they really didn't have time to model the interior of 1000cars...
It's actually understandable..
But of course, we are very demanding...
And I still hope we have all cockpits.

Did not GT5P have interior views? That's what I thought. Weve got pictures of cars with interior shots that aren't high value sports cars. I don't think PD is cheap. If you think so then GT you haven't played.

GT5 Prologue had over 70 cars and all of them had cockpit view so I think every single car in GT5 will have cockpit view, I think that the demo's we have seen may have the premium features maybe locked or maybe the premium cars we can do special upgrades to the car that we cant do on any regular car.

You know what? That's given me an idea. Remember how in GT2 how it has the Race Car upgrade option? Well maybe that's returned to GT5 and the reason we see road cars marked as "Premium" are cars that can be upgraded to Race Car and have damage etc..

If you are led to think that GT5 will have detailed interiors because Prologue did, then GT5 will not have all cars with a detailed interior.

And that is because not all cars had a detailed interior view in Prologue.

This was discussed months ago in this thread.

The only car that didn't have a detailed interior view in Prologue was the GT-R Prototype because it probably doesn't really have much of one in real life. I dont know about the black mask because I don't have that but.. 1 or 2 out of 70 or so isn't much of a worry.

You mean those concept cars or that Audi TT not so detailed dash? Or am I missing something?

Well, let me expain my point of view regarding the whole cockpit discussion:
Polyphony are making such an effort to create all these cars including the cockpits, so I don't think we won't get the cockpit view for most cars.
The GT-R Proto ist only a protoype and you can clearly see, that it has black windows to hide the fact that this car hasn't got a modeled cockpit.
I assume this is due to the fact that the real prototype had dark windows too, and that it didn't have a real/nice to look at cockpit.
At least I have never seen a pic of the '05 Proto cockpit anywhere on the web.
So I'd say: if the car has a cockpit in real life and is in the game, it will have a cockpit and cockpit view in the game as well.
And I really couldn't imagine racing with 14/16 cars with black windows all the time...that really wouldn't match Polyphony's style nor Kazunori's standards.

And I'm always writing cockpit because I think, that the modelled interior of the premium cars include the hood and trunk.

Or it might be that when you go for weight reduction the whole interior ( of those road cars ) can be stripped out ( removing rear seats, upholstery, etc. ) although this makes probably no sense when race cars are also premium ( although here it could just imply damage ).
Anyway, hope all cars will have full cockpit/dashboard modelling.....:)

Hey @ all: How about the following idea:
When finally the day of GT5 release arrives would you record the moment of the first start up / or even the purchase in the store...
I guess many funny, interesting etc videos would come out if this!

It would defy anything and everything we have seen through the years if GT5 had only 170 interiors. The problem PD would face is two fold if that were to occur.

1. We were lied to for the last 4 years, led to believe that the cars in GT5p were going to be the standard of the full game.
If the good cars were 17% percent of the full game why would they use only them in GT5p, they would save the best for the full game not some appetizer.
They should have changed the name of GT5p to something else, because it is clearly not representative of the full product, not an improvement but a downgrade (the full game's lack of detail).

2. Why are they showing us all of their special models 4 years before the actual representative of GT5. We have seen some 130+ so called premium models, that means that we only have a few more premium cars left.
Worse still is that 80 or so of the cars have been driven by the fans for at least 2.5 years in GT5p.
So the #of premium cars would seem much lower than it already is.
The one little thing that soothes 1% of the disappointment in GT5 would have been squandered 4 years before the games full release, in 2010 were every racing game worth the disc it is printed on has a dash view for all.

If that were the case we would be seeing a vast majority of the lower detailed cars with the occasional premium car, not the other way around like we are seeing today.
We know for a fact the not every car will have the engine modeled, and strangely enough we only have seen a handful. The chances are that the 170 cars have extra damage details, not the only ones with interiors.
