games in UK is released fridays, games in most of EU is released thursday, and other places friday. A video was shown with november 10th, but was removed fast, now it just says november.

And yes no JPN release, wich really bugs me. But then again maybe it comes at TGS, but makes no sence to announce the dates separateley.

You got to understand that E3 is basically an American conference, so they gave the date which the game be released in America. They should be showing NASCAR more at E3 since America is where its biggest fan base is.

There will be way more info at TGS plus im guessing more details on Super GT and Drifting because thats where those series biggest fan base is..

And still its anoying if we don't get collectors. I would gladly pay 300$ for it, wich will be the price i have to pay if i want to import it from US anyways -_-

Most games get released on a Friday in the UK but quite a few are released on a Tuesday as well. They tend to be games with a large online element to them.

Thought this was pretty cool. This is the Google translation of the Japanese gran-turismo site. I noticed two things of note.

-more than 1000 cars
-Face Tracking

Oh and the genre is no longer "racing". It is now "Onrainkaraifushimyureta". Oh, good 'ole Google and your fantastic Engrish.

I totally watched the GT5 trailer on my laptop and was over came with joy instead of doing work today, then I watched it again, and again. So much awesome!

YES YES YES!!

Good find, hopefully a lot more insider info still to come. That does appear to provide the best definition of Premium so far so its very exciting to infer that a large number of normal production models can be 'structurally damaged' as suggested by the car selection lists so far. And I note he states a 'full blown' nascar experience- wonder whose words they were - but would need more than 9 cars (so far seen) to get that description.

It appears the premium mystery has finally been solved.
👍 Yes, just as I thought. Cars are modeled for customization and structural damage.

One question remains though.

"For example, only the premium cars have fully recreated interiors" -article

Does fully recreated interiors mean the entire inside of the car is modeled?

Or is he just referring to cockpit view?

Whatever the case, it looks like some of this is already being cleared up by Kaz. So, here is to hoping the next couple of days are as good as today.

P.S.
A new preview of GT5 nothing much new but it does say that there will be alot more info at GamesCom in Germany

Thank you for posting that.👍

"Although all of the cars are perfectly modelled, the premium cars offer little extra touches of detail that the standard cars don't. For example, only the premium cars have fully recreated interiors and the standard cars aren't designed to take structural damage in crashes." http://nzgamer.com/ps3/previews/862/gran-turismo-5-eyes-on.html

Does this mean the rest of the non-premium cars wont have the in-car interiors in the final version????

There's a closed-door presentation tomorrow right?

Yep. Kaz will also be on the E3 Coverage on G4TV, along with a Nascar competition where players compete to beat the fastest time.

I think the real key part in that is "Structural damage". It is not so much that not all cars will have cockpit view as it is not all of them will take damage on the inside.

If this really means only 1/5 (or less) of the cars in the game have an interior view... how can Kaz go on to say this?

Gran Turismo 5 has been completely optimised for the PS3 graphics shader and takes advantage of the processing power of the console. In fact, Kazunori boldly stated that the game is possibly more advanced than the PS3 and that it would fit the bill for a PS4 game if the console was around.

Ugh.

I think this means they won't have safety equipment like roll cages, fire exstinguishers & seat harnesses etc.Only going by road car spec as KY mentioned.

It doesn't make sense as those you mentioned are small details and not so much time consuming to implement compared to designing and implementing the interior for every of the 1000+ cars in the game in PD graphics quality in 5+ years time frame.

Didn't Kaz-san mention that it takes aprox six months to implement just one car into to the game?

Think of it like this:

Warning - might be unsuitable for minors - please mod if needed -

mark to read

"Standard cars are like the girl you walk by in the street. Decent, and wearing normal clothes like everyother in the street.

Premium cars are like Victorias secret, it got all the details for you...
"

No, he said it takes six months to model them from scratch.

Thinking logically wouldn't that would fall under the "exterior" bracket and interior as being in car only?

It's a Japanse to English translation thing
Cockpit isn't really the interior of the car, it's the inside of a car :)

do you really think all cars will get this sort of detail? I think not

Yeah if you look at he nascars and rally you can see much more of the inside. You can see into the back and everything.

I would say this is the premium and all others will just have a fixed cockpit.

I guessit is talking about hood interiors , I don't think it is talking about cockpit views...

Well if Sage has a press pass hopefully he will ask the question.

The premium and also the track - variation thing.

I honestly can't understand why a journalist hasn't asked for a better explanation until now.

Its moments like this that make me so freaking happy to have Sage there. He will hopefully clear this up for us...

That is... if he can get around the vaunted Translator San:scared:
