Nope, that was a Ruf 3400S.There's also a Clio V6 for the PAL version of GT3.

I don't know how it works, but can a game go gold without it being made public?
Going gold doesn't mean anything more than the developer has ceased developing and testing the game and it is now being pressed, boxed and stored ready for launch. There's nothing that forces the developers to announce when a game has gone gold or not. But you can find out if a game is being mass manufactured for sale if you want to.
