This is a demo and does not necessarily reflect the sounds/graphics/features in the final product.

I think this was sprawled across the screen when the demo first started up...just like on every demo.

The old Fuji reminds me of the old Monza. All I want to do is try to recreate these tracks within GT5. I'm sure with some time and effort I could do it. It doesn't seem to be too hard. With a track editor I'm sure you'll get specs on how long to make a straight away or a turn's angle, or a banking's degree. I could do this. especially if it's a good track editing on GT5 I think the old circuits will be my first. Old Monza, Old Fuji, Old Imola- those are my first three that I will try for. Information about those tracks is online as well as layout and length and all that information- I'll bet there are companies who will get into this and try to make tracks within GT5 and sell them online or sites such as this one that will create tracks and feature races! Imagine that! Who cares about the bickering amongst the cockpits or not, this information right here and the possible outcomes of it are awesome!

One could also make the original Sebring layout. and the current one. Run on an unused section of the Sebring International Airport, Sebring requires some serious skill. combinations of potted Asphalt and concrete, and the bumps in the first and final corners make for a challenging circuit, especially when the sun heats up the Asphalt. Can you imagine racing across two different surfaces that have surface temps that are probably ten-twenty degrees apart or more? the hot asphalt would be slick while he cooler concrete would have a bit more grip. I just hope, that PD or someone would make it so you could feel the difference in handling between the two surfaces.

Man we should stop wining about standard/premium. Standard=good, premium=better. It's not like premium=just good, standard=substandard. Otherwise it would have been called that. This should be made a rule. Not just any rule: a PREMIUM rule. 💡

It's more like: Premium = Mind blowing; Standard = Substandard.

Pair that with 80% of the cars being "Standard" and they both pretty much explain by themselves all the "wining".

That is very very disappointing. Yet again they've gone for generic sound effects rather than the real thing.

A better/fair comparison.
The wind does drown the sound a bit though, especially when not on the dyno.

Here's to November......

Maybe is too late to fix it,I guess!!sadly the engine sound will be the Achilles hell of gt5:nervous::nervous::nervous:

So you're making judgements on the demo and assuming cars will sound the same in the game? That's reasonable huh? So you've obtained knowledge of every GT game this way? Maybe it's just some of you but GT never sounded 'weak' to me. Hook it up to a sound system and run your playstation through a receiver or entertainment system, you'll notice the sounds are much different than what you say.

Perhaps a stereo TV can only produce only so much in terms of noise, but if you use settings that the playstation is capable of, like Dolby Digital, it sounds awesome.

I THINK they are using placeholder sounds... those newer official PD videos sound A LOT better. Then again, you can doctor those up and what not.

I can't think of any reason they would do that... PD have a history of mediocre sound, and also of dubbing sound over their promo videos. Tis indeed a weakness of the game and unsurprising to see it returning. Their sound department is apparently just not that good, or gets squeezed out every time by other CPU requirements.

And what about the Ferrari?? Dude I'm so disguested!
This afternoon a golden 458 Italia passed by me revving from 0 to I don't know...70km/h and it was the best sound I've ever heard
Then I thought how many times I heard it from TGS videos....I felt the need to virtually slap PD's sound team:grumpy:.

Could also be that the normal R8 has an Audi V8 in it. You need to get the RS8 or the TDi V12 version to get the ones with the Lambo engines.

The only R8 which has a Lambo-derived engine is the R8 V10 ( which is basically a detuned Gallardo engine also found in the Audi S8 ).
The TDi V12 version has the Volkswagen/Audi V12 Diesel-engine and is still a one-off prototype and the RS8 is to my knowledge the code name for the R8 V10.:)

After hearing the sound of the 370z in the TT and the JGTC cars the sound looked promising but after hearing the 458 video and now this looks like it isn't promising at all but I have to admit before playing Shift I never really noticed the sound

I was also a little dissapointed with GT5P sound, wasnt really bad but not perfect for sure. But after i bought good headphones it was much much better, then i bought full sound system and configured it properly (it is really important). And now the sound level is quite good i can say.

Someone, in another topic said "Then again alot of people Judge GT sounds when watching a replay or barreling down the Mulsanne, flat out at high revs, thats not where engines have most of their character, its in the low revs, try driving around a car like you wouold IRL, and you will see the grunts and rumbles and things you never heard before" and i agree with that for 101%. When you got this moment you can easly hear "good sound". But only with proper sound system - it changes everything around sound in GT5P

That R8 doesn't look too fast...maybe it's because of that Lambo.

Tahy's true. the V12 is from the R15 race car. That Lambo V10 is crazy, though. That's the one that caught on fire and burned to the ground during testing at Nurburgring.

I don't get it, I thought they fixed the sound of the R8 and ditched the Prologue sound. Listen to this version from last year -- it sounds so much better. Why the hell would they go back to the Prologue sound which is terrible to begin with?

Now were on to complaining about sounds! First it was GT being delayed, then it was too many demos, then it was standard vs. premium, now it's sounds?

Where is a thread with sensible people that don't beg to hear 'sounds' of cars they have no clue of the original sound inside of the car. If you wanna hear the sound of the exhaust, use the chase cam. When you're inside a car you won't hear the sound of the exhaust note as easily, because for one, you're inside, and two, you're wearing a helmet.

Perhaps they were just using the GT5P sounds for the E3 demo 'cause they hadn't finished implementing all the sounds. And, guys, the game is 4 months away. I'm sure they'll fix the sounds by then.

That does sound nice... let's hope these sounds stay.

What the hell!?!? I can actually hear the sound of a v8 in a GT game? I don't believe my ears... oh wait they got rid of it. :banghead:

Well let's see. 4 months. Let's say they will need the last month to put the game together, produce the discs and ship them. So 3 months left. 90 days. Let's say they already have high quality sound samples for the 200 premium cars so it means that they need to fix the sounds from 800 cars. So it means that each day they will need to fix the sounds of about 800/90 = 8.88888... cars.

I hope they started fixing sounds last year...

WHAT I MEANT WAS:

Maybe those were just the sounds used for the demo because they didn't have enough time to slap in the sounds they currently have running in the actual game. You can't judge a game by it's demos.
