When I tweeted KY during that Honda thing, he replied saying that maybe standard cars will get GTPSP blacked out style interiors.

1:1 animation would be awesome, BUT what would be even better is the option to change the steering degree for GT/LMP and F1 cars. It's hard making such fast turns while turning a wheel 900 degrees.

Yes. I do not need that as i can do all that with fanatec. Options is what we need:

-Steering animation 1:1 / limited like it is now
-Steering angle setting option (rally, f1)
-Option to remove steering wheel

EDIT: I would make couple of generic interios for different decades

Sport car interior 60's muscle car interior 60's, granny car interior 60's
.
.
.
Sport car interior 2000 muscle car interior 2000, granny car interior 2000

Also it would nice if you could select interior yourself from couple of options(steering wheel and type of dash e.g.)

You can change the steering ratio to perfectly mimic the in game counterpart (F1, LMP, WRC, etc...)...........

If you have a Fanatec wheel. :sly:

Abso-freaking-lutely. 👍

If they don't have 1:1 steering animation in the full game, we should at least have the option to remove the wheel altogether, ala PC sims (rFactor, GTR2, etc...)

;)

Actually, this was mentioned after the interview, and it seemed like he didn´t understood the question and was replying something like: "what do you mean, you want a closer view to the windshield, like the blacked out interiors of the PSP version... yes, that´s technically possible".

I was under the impression he didn´t fully get what was asked, because there was a tweet also asking for a closer interior view, bypassing the wheel, hence the response from Kaz.

All speculation, but i think he wasn´t answering only to you, or misunderstood the question.

I wish sony allowed us to vote Hinojosa out of his position with Playstation. The guy just gives out such a bad vibe. Most of the time he can't put a coherent sentence together.

It´s fake. I searched for the phrase "Standard cars do indeed have a cockpit/dashboard view, just not nearly as detailed as the premium cars" and it took me to a post in this forum. Maybe they made it up, or maybe this unknown webpage from Australia was chosen by Poliphony Digital to make the announcement. You choose.
I hate to seem like I pessimist but it could be a hoax, kotaku requested confirmation about karts and track editor so should be informed to that gaming magazine, I still do believe that the standart will be great i just remember what says in the JP gran turismo web page and i quote:

※“スタンダードカー”はインテリア視点に対応していません。
"standard cars does not correspond to cockpit view"
real translation: since Japanese is not as simple as google claim to be
what really says there is:

スタンダードカー / ドカー”は / インテリア / 視点に / 対応し / ていません
standard car / is / interior / point of view / supports / no

now in grammatical correction for English that will be:

standard car doesn't support interior point of view

lets hope that I'm wrong in the forum news thing :sly:
and I hope I clarify something to you guys.

VG247: So. The date. You must be thrilled to be able to say it’s coming out in November.Chris Hinojosa-Miranda: "Yeah. For the US, as well"

And what about Europe and the rest of the world? Please,
we still haven't heard anything

This Australian igamereport.com which article keeps being quoted ( including by me once, although questioning its reliability ) or linked as the official confirmation looks to be run solely by this Curtis Green guy who appears to write every single article on that site......sounds pretty dubious to take this site very seriously although ofcourse hoping I'm wrong.

So we're back to square one on cockpit view. We have no reliable source written in English that either confirms or unconfirms all cars will one way or another feature cockpit view. Not that I know of.

according to kotaku the standard car will not have as much detail as the premium cars, but it doesn't say anything about the lack of cockpits for premium cars, maybe it is true, but I will stick to the gran turismo site "standard car doesn't support interior point of view"

kotaku:

http://www.kotaku.jp/2010/06/gt5_details.html

hope that interior standard will be true :)

Lol I don't have a Fanatec wheel D=. And you'd think they'd make a solution for that problem for the wheels they are advertising :sly:

Lol, lets sell the DFGT with this little red dial so you can be PROOOOOOO!

Anyway, I hope that EXTREMELY touchy dead zone is gone... going down straights in the Ferrari 2007 was waaaay too hard.

Nope, it seems safer to assume Standard doesn't feature cockpit view and not getting our hopes up at this point.
The ambiguity the explanation on the official GT5 site displays leads me to believe it's either a strange tactic to keep debating GT5 after E3 or more likely a rather avoidingly constructed confirmation which conveniently appears at a time the game is beyond further drastic development changes.
If those cars did feature cockpits, I would shout it from the rooftops if I were them ( it's not something which would be a surprise like a track-editor, but a major achievement ).
We'll hopefully learn more in a short time, either way.

The fact that standard cars have damage and roll over is definitely why I believe they will have cock-pits (despite how crappy they'll be).

PD has put time into the 800 standard cars. Would be insane to think they wouldn't give them all a decent cock-pit.

I would've said the same thing before E3, just not sure anymore.
Might be insane for thinking it, and would probably be willing to be classified clinically insane for thinking it if proven wrong.;)

( But then again, I might already be....:))

You've been scarred. That's why you're holding back.:indiff:

I'm not afraid of being wrong with my assumptions. But to back away from them is the true cowardice. So what if they don't? I sure as heck won't cry. Then again
.....:scared:

No, I really won't.

No, I really won't.

I won't cry because of videogame content, I may be daft but not that daft.
Why is backing away from previous assumtions cowardice when new info challenges them?
Only a fool never changes his mind.........:)

It's no surprise people around here have been scarred; fans in general.

It's no surprise that people want to be skeptical JUST IN CASE the reality is disappointing (no cockpits).

All I am saying is don't let your hopes get in the way of what has been "reported". So what if they don't have cockpits in the end?

Then I ask: So why not think positively and assume they'll be in (and give PD the benefit of the doubt)?

It's cowardly to think otherwise, as you're simply protecting yourself from the pain. Possible pain.

Wow looking it like this makes me think that we are still in the cold war :nervous:
