they just need to make sure that gt5 isnt a dissapointment lke gt4.
I think every game company would like to have a game as "disappointing" as Gran Turismo 4. Microsoft was sure hoping to be that disappointed over Forza, and Forza 2. ;)

In any case, seeing that GT5/Prologue is tentatively pencilled into E3, maybe we'll have some meaty news this side of Killzone, Drake's Fortune and MGS4.

eMke3,

Thanks for the vid!! Too bad that they had to put music over the footage...Anyways, there was some wonderful machinery running in that race.

And yes, we can only hope to see the Aston V8 Vantage N24, the Manthey Racing 997 RSR, and the Gallardo in GT5!!! That was great to see Porsche & the Manthey boys win their home race!

I'm not talking about sales, i'm talking about realistic physics. but i get your point. i have to be more specific. :P

I had a feeling you were talking about physics, but many of us have already beaten that horse to death. Turn 10 got plenty of physical elements wrong in Forza, but like GT, the fans just ignore their own issues and pick on the others. Both games are plenty solid in their own ways. Watching replays in GT4, I see things that Turn 10 didn't implement in Forza, such as leaning civilian street cars around turns, and snapping back to grip after recovering from a skid - STILL missing from Forza 2. And there's also that silly brake disc glow on street cars... I could go on. Forza has plenty of issues.

I tested GTfirst time a few weeks back, at a Gamestop.

I hit the change view button from outside of car, to bumper camera, and bacd to outside of car.

This made me a little mad because the hood view is my favorite view, and I literally NEED that view to be able to race good.

So if they don't add that view again, then I don't even know if I would pick up the game.

This picture is rather interesting.
It shows a vehicle on Pikes Peak, with Playstation 3 and Gran Turismo HD on it :)

Is there any way that the moderators could possibly disallow new threads before they get posted if they are about some small random topic? I'm getting sick of all these new threads about things that could just be discussed in existing threads.:grumpy:

The only problem with that is that when threads get so huge and cover a lot of different topics, not only does it get very hard to try and find those previously discussed topics when they are buried in a large thread, but then what happens is people keep reposting the same information over and over again in the same thread because they understandably didn't dig through the 200 or more posts previously added to the thread.

This is already a pretty big problem with the PS3 general discussion.

The advantage of more threads is a lot less repeating of the same info, and as threads, especially if the OP makes a decent thread title... which unfortunately doesn’t always happen, then those topics and information are much easier to find and participate in.

Just tossing in that opinion for consideration and for why adding threads can be a good thing.

can somebody please help me out!
i don't have a ps3, i have only the ps2.
is there going to be a ps2 version.i really hope so.
can somebody spill the truth to me?

Wow, a pikes peak open wheeler unrestricted with PS3 on it?
Hopefully its not another rally not-sim like Dirt that will be realeased for the PS3 - but thats very unlikely, it really has GTHD on its rear wing.

If PD gets rally physics right it could turn out like CMR Dirt just with way better physics and twice the fun. Maybe pikes peak returns too.

Methinks you're talking about the famous hillclimb course. If so, I would like to see it in GT5 as well. Not in it's scaled-down GT2 version mind you; but in it's full-scaled, 10+ minute, Climb to the Clouds glory. :D:tup:

Yes but the GT2 version would be a start right 👍

I would happily see the return even if it is a short version.

As far as know, we don't know exactly what treatment were those images subjected to, but I reckon that's about as good as it's going to be.

Btw, did anyone notice any reflections on the car's paint job while racing? They seem not to have that much effort put in that as Forza 2, and as a Photomode addict that's something I'd REALLY like to see in the game - realistic reflections of the surroundings, and let's not forget to include reflections of the cars nearby, since that's a big flaw in GT4 (for me, at least).

Yeah, I get picky with graphical inconsistencies myself. I'd get upset whenever i'd be right behind a car in GT4 and not be able to see my reflection.

Also, off topic, but in Silent Hill 4, during the first-person segments in the apartment I got annoyed over two things.
First, the player didn't cast shadows. And since you were in a small apartment with chairs and other things casting shadows, it was quite obvious. Also, similar to the GT4 problem, if you stood right in fromt of a picture hanging on the wall, you couldn't see a reflection of yourself in the glass, but you could see the reflection of everything else in the room.

Ahem, anyways... even if the reflections in GT5 aren't perfect during racing, i'm sure that they'll be enhanced somewhat in photomode.

The magazine joypad told us that all ferrari's + f1 are included. I'm a big Ferrarifan so it's like a dream come true, but is this confirmed?? Because all Ferrari's means over a 100 models.. The only Ferrari's we have been seen yet is the 599 and the 430..

Rich, GT5P is just the first chapter of GT5 and they got 2 ferraris already. How many fords have they shown? Just one. So things are looking up for the amount of Ferraris they will have in GT5. I'm sure they will have 20+ Ferraris in GT5. That's more than some ferrari only games

headlights headlights and more headlights

I dont care about damage or weather as much as I care about whether GT5 gets day/night changes for the longer enduros

I can't imagine GT5 having 24 hours of day races. So when they DO include day night changes that also means headlights

Headlights are very important when driving at night, of course, and the cheap headlights you see in GT4 won't work racing in the pitch black of the nurburgring or the pitch black of the mulsanne straight.

You need strong, powerful lights to guide your way in night racing.

I really hope PD doesn't give cheap night versions of nurburging or lemans, cheap as in the track looks like dusk and not 3AM pitch black

Maybe that's why they didn't show any image of the cars with the lights on on a dark location. 👍

It would really be awesome. Not to mention totally do-able.
If they can recreate natural sunlight inside the car like that, it wouldn't take much to make headlights that work, spreading loght on the scenery as it moves along. Sweet... ::drool:

The latest edition of EVO magazine runs an article about one of their journalists, Richard Meadon, who's a big fan of the Gran Turismo games, racing this car at this years Pikes Peak event. He was asked/sponsored by PD to do the event. I would bet heavily on Pike Peak being included in GT5 if not GT5P.

GREAT NEWS! Obviously it hasn't been confirmed in the game, but still something we may be able to look forward to in the future as info continues to be released.
