I have found a few bits of news that have interested me

Firstly, the track thing - it is 20 Countries and 70 Variations of track, this may not seem like news to us, but at least we know it isn't just 20 tracks.

This came from a french mag in November 2009.

Secondly, we have confirmation of some sort of livery editor, it says "Add in the oppertunity to add on stickers and to dive our hands into the motor" (from the french - Comprenez l'opportunite d'ajouter des stickers et de ploger ses mains dans le moteur)

This came from a different french mag from April (this info is underneath the column 4)

And finally that there are 3 discs to the game, under the column 8. Why? I haven't the foggiest.

And look at the percentage figure of the time spent into the cars alone - 60%!

That and 60 million dollars into the game development :)

The infinty there is to same the amount of possibilities of the soundtrack - pointless to put that down in the mag, but at least we know we can now put our own music into the game

^^^ 👍

"The 3 disks", I have a feeling that one might contain the track editor although I'm not 100% sure of that. It would make sense if they have a seperate disk for that. And if they made a half decent program to edit and create new tracks 💡 (or cars eg. livery editor).. and upload them to a server. Kind of like how LBP does it.

It is just pure speculation though...

I have said it before and I will say it again OPM (whatever region) is probably one of the most unreliable sources of news for GT5.Example:all standard cars feature cockpit view, weather (still unconfirmed),3 disks and IRL.

I don't see a problem with having interiors that look like GT PSP's, cause an interiors an interior, and it'd be great.

So all the painstakingly replicated and detailed interiors PD created for Prologue are just a waste of time as it doesn't matter if they're different?
As someone who actually uses this view I truly appreciate the different types of interiors as they're just as specific and essential to me as the different exteriors of a car.
What if I said, and exterior is an exterior, doesn't matter what it looks like?

Ummmmmmm, not sure if anyone else noticed but that Tinypic scan of the French OPM has a complete tracklist revealing that 6 tracks remain to be unveiled

Its not so much their erroneous hate for all things Playstation, its their blatant bias towards the other system. Its not like they are like edge and only give a 9 once every year. To me the best reviewers are Neogaf (lol), IGN (slightly overrate certain titles), Joystiq, and Kotaku (slightly bias but insightful). The problem with almost all reviewers is that they only play the game for a couple days or a week. IMO it takes 2-3 weeks to fully appreciate or hate a game.

Well that's the case with any review on any subject ( not just games ), which is never going to be truly objective ( journalism never is despite trying to be ).
You always have to review the reviewer yourself to appreciate his or her judgement.

I think the pic just shows what others have thought, combining tracks from GT4,GTPSP and tracks that have been confirmed already. Thus leaving another 6 to fill the total up to 70. (if it really is 70 at launch anyhow)

My favorite part remains his noticable 15-years experience in 30fps area - it is always nice to have expertise of such trained eye.

It's actually easiest thing in the world you can do.I don't ever believe in that someone CAN'T determine is that 60fps or 30fps.It's really that easy!

How i'd love to be able to read that article. It's easy to dismiss it as a summary of internet speculation. But - that's the first pic of a Kart racer, right? So maybe there are lots of juicy details in there.

Hope the track editor, 70 tracks, and F1 as confirmed and not just speculation.

I'm really interested in the online elements. Setting up a tournament would be fun.... like 8 consecutive races where points get added up. I used to love racing the gran prix season in Geoff Crammond mulitplayer :)

Comparing GT to GRID or DiRT is just wrong. GT is miles better than either of those and they are just shadows of the old games games anyway (Toca Race Driver and Colin McRae Rally)

True enough. However, Grid's damage was fantastic as were the replays. One area Grid definitely surpassed GT in was the multiplayer. It was a blast!

I can read french, and it does confirm the track editor, more than 70 tracks, and Formula One cars with the participation of Ferrari. And Kart will have its own series apparently.

What's unfortunate is that there is a comparison between Premium and Standard cars but I couldnt read it due to the bad quality of the picture on certain areas :guilty:

Not to get into a debate about standard vs Premium but do you think the carts are part of the standard car or premium car count?

Most likely standards i think, they don't need to be damaged.I think PD use them for license tests (driving education).

Thats what I thought at first, however when you think about it.. it must have a cockpit view, its very detailed as most of the working components are visible through the bodywork which would suggest maybe damage to the body pannels.

I dont know if its just me but carts seems like an odd choice.. plus its not really classifed as a car...
