I know GT5 looks amazing in graphics, i'm wondering if PD added this problem with the ferrari 458 into the game itself?

What a Moron is what Kaz would say in Japanese.

I'd love banger racing in GT5, would be great to include oval banger racing tracks ( run off in middle ).All that needs to be done to the cars, is strip it down to the bodyshell, remove lights, windows & other sharp metal objects plus fit big roll bars. Then paint it, add logos plus racing numbers job done. This would test how real the mechanical damage physics is, to the limit.

Impressions from Cobra1

Well, I've had a few rounds with the simulator and with the controller and time for the impressions to settle a bit.

First off and the thing that jumps out at your right away, is the demo looks much better than Prologue. The cars and the tracks have both been stepped up graphically, and the attention to detail really stands out. I've driven Nurburgring, Rome, Top Gear Test Track, Tokyo R246 and that bumper pool track at Spain.

I'm sure the Spain track will be a great addition once I've learned it properly.

All of the tracks look spectacular. It almost appears that one is looking through a window directly onto the track. All of the cars in the demo have interiors, and that detail is pretty amazing as well. Again, if you've seen the pictures and HD videos online, those don't really do the demo justice as far as graphics are concerned.

The cars sound like cars - finally! The 60's Camaro sounds like a V8 and has that raw muscle sound. NASCAR sounds like its ready to eat you alive, and the Ferrari's have their distinctive sound too. Judging by the demo, gone are the days of every car sounding like a 4 cylinder, high revving engine.

The physics seem vastly improved and feel pretty close to the Time Trial Demo used to sponsor the GT contest earlier in the year. Lamborghini's still don't stop or turn, so beware of that!

The Ferrari Enzo without traction control is pretty tricky to drive. So much power is going to the rear wheels, it can be difficult to handle in corners. On the physics side, I seemed to get the impression that gone are the days of heavy braking and turning at the same time. Its one or the other! Demo's can be tough to play at trade shows too, so that might be a point just to get used to.

Damage: I only saw a little bit while playing at Tokyo R246 with the NASCAR. Damage did appear to affect speed as well. I did not try to pit to see what happens as the demo only lasts 2 minutes and 30 seconds. On most tracks, that was about a lap and a half. The sparks that rain down do just that... rain down. They aren't a "streak" effect as seen in some degraded video's and they look very realistic.

did anyone bring up the following idea?:

ADJUSTING ABS, traction control etc. """D U R I N G""" a current race...like in the F1 or other serie....would be lovely...

You can do that now in GT5P so I'd say yes it will be in GT5:idea:

A function already implemented in GT5:P if, and only if, you use the Driving Force GT. Pretty useful, especially for adjusting brakes within a race.

Not true, doesn't matter which controller you use, you just have to map the functions to the buttons you prefer in the options.

It's not only if you use that wheel, you can map the controls to other buttons in the controller settings but if you only have a pad then there's not enough buttons to map everything. I mapped them to my DFP.

Of course there are, I have everything mapped on my controller too.
L3 and the menu pops up and the d-pad to change the settings.

What are you getting at? Please read carefully before you reply to my posts. :dunce:

I did read carefully. It sounded like you're going to have a heart attack cause backfiring was missing. I'm just not sure if it was the visual or aural aspect of it that had you gasping for air.

I haven't read what you guys are talking about, but I hope the cars have backfiring like in GT4. I remember trying to capture the backfiring flames in the photomode :D

Backfiring is also in GT PSP so I bet it will be in GT5.

Well... making a backfire for a PS2 or PSP game sure is easier than for a PS3 game, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see it. I've yet to see proper exhaust flames in a PS3 game.

EDIT: No GT3 didn't have backfires.
