i was wondering with all this epic damage on the car...during a endurance race, we will be able to repare the damage?
its most likely they let us repair, but a stop in the box cant replace your car. also it should took a lot of time to repair car in that state...

Ewwww. 1080i looks very yucky on my telly. I would play in 720p before I would play in 1080i. The difference between 1080i and 1080p is staggering(at least on my telly).

Agreed... My dad bought a 1080i TV like 5 years ago, a CRT, and it looked HORRIBLE... couldnt read the text, like it was SD... Then I upgraded to a 1080p TV, and it was incredible! I litterally watched a GT5P replay for two hours, because it just looked so awesome...

For the collectors out there

Met Kazunori Yamauchi at an internal GameStop event and he signed an alternate GT5 cover with the GameStop #20 car driven by Joey Logano featured. I also had it signed by Joey Logano.

There was a neat event that took place on stage where Kazunori and Logano each did a time trial event in GT5, and if Logano won than everyone present got a free copy of the game. I almost geeked out at the presence of the translator as I did for Kazunori himself. Of course Logano won--and of course I'm trading my free copy in and putting the credit towards the Collector's Edition.

I don't actually have the game yet--just this alternate cover. I'll probably get the game itself in late October.

And yet we've spent the morning, in this thread, giggling about the visual damage to cars.

What is GT about anyway? So far, they've been trying to include everyone and their mother for GT5's release.

Anyways, this argument can be cleared up with one acronym, NASCAR.

Heh. I don't want some dedicated mode or room for it, but every once in a while, with a few friends, yeah, maybe I'd do something like this. It's just fun and silly, I've gotten past the phase of pretending I have to be super-serious video-game racer whenever I insert the GT disc. Sometimes you just wanna do stupid, stupid things.

Some friends and I came up with a game of tag in the original Jet Moto for this very reason. There was one level with a relatively open bay of water, just with rocks scattered around (perfect for hiding), and one giant 50ft vertically oriented one we'd use to ramp off for stunts and things. It's fun to make games interesting like that .

When I roughed up the R8 the headlight did not fall off. It crumpled up along with the body, sort of like it was a texture. I hit the guardrail doing 120 and the left corner got bashed in pretty rough. Mechanical damage is great, and gets messed up quicker than visual damage. I hit a guardrail with the 458 doing maybe 60. Hit the rear right quarter. The shifts got much much slower, the top speed seemed to die out around 160 or so.

Actually Dave, if you saw it's probably the controller. That controller is so busted up in BB.

Anyway, my gf didn't want me at all to go to BB. haha
So, I'll try to get higher quality pictures tomorrow.

I dropped my GF off at Panera so she could do her homework.

Yeah some BB people were eyeing me. I was trying to keep a low profile as much as possible as well.

If not a DSLR, I'll at least bring a digital camera when I go tomorrow.

Half the reason why all the pictures are blurry is because the goddamn cord only sticks out 2 ft and so I can't get farther away.

lol I'm just so glad that I'm a mere 5 minute drive from BB. haha I'll try to make friendly with the employees so they won't get so pissed off. lol

The damage is top notch, those that say teh Carbon fiber doesnt shater under pressure is just nit picking. I'm liking what i'm seeing and think this is going to be the best console sim yet. knock on wood.

Couldn't hear it in that video, but in GT PSP there are exhaust flames with popping sound, e.g. with the Astra Touring car (if that is what you mean with the sound of unburned fuel). So why shouldn't they be in GT5's final version?

It's just not "cricket" because your used to Grid, the all damage and no physics simulation.
