Atleast the game seems to have a better hood cam compared to the roof cam we got in gt4. The cockpits are a very nice bonus but I'm not going to really complain if the cars I really like are not premium even though it would be cool.Wonder if the old civics and hondas will be premium seeing as they have a strong following with the car crowd in japan. Hope they get the sound right with them lol I still play gt4 with the crx (sounds awesome).

I am very curious to see what TGS has in store for GT5. I have a feeling that they (PD) are going to drop a bomb on us, wether it be course maker details (like more locations for your tracks) new tracks not yet shown, or whatever else is floating in the minds of PD im sure they will have something for us to sink our teeth into. after TGS though I think im strait playing halo: Reach untill GT5, then im buying a PS3 with it!:) Got my 911 gt3 rs wheel on its way, so im pumped! I played both GT2 and GT3 back in the day, then went to xbox for the longest time. Im ready to give Playstation another shot! Bring on TGS and Nov 2nd, im ready... :dopey::dopey:

My expectations are high, because what we have seen is just a damage from frontal collision.
I'd like to see a roll-over mess on TGS, with damaged bodypanels around the car and of course, with pretty accurate mechanical representation like promised:
The damage physics are going to be applied to things like a bent suspension arm, tires hitting the wheel wells of a car, deformation of the body affecting alignment, the loss of power to the engine. We’re still working on setting the sensitivity level of of the damage. You can have it so if you have a single hit your car isn’t going to be able to be driven anymore. It’s a matter of adjustment.
I hope I'm not expecting too much :D
And, of course, welcome back to the PlayStation family, audi S4! =)

What I'm a bit concerned with is the day-night cycle on that rally track we saw in the video. Did Kaz ever confirm day-night cycles for all tracks? Or just a certain amount of tracks?

To be honest, I can't even remember whether he ever confirmed it at all :dunce:

You see, the thing is that the day-night change on that rally track went incredibly fast. It got me to think whether that day-night change might only be for that rally stage?

He confirmed that all tracks won't have it.

At GamesCom it was revealed that day-night transition will be available on some tracks, not all.

The day-night transition on the Toscana track is sped up just to show it off.

To be honest, I'm hoping, with every bit of my being, that it (weather/day/night) will be not available to some races like... Nascar... just so they can free up memory space for more cars... I'm hoping. They need a full grid (or a close to full grid) for it to be even semi interesting... Hell, NASCAR can get boring with 43 cars, so why would 16 cars be any fun?

does anybody know "what stuff" could be added to the game by later downloads???
only cars ? like songs for singstar....
or also tracks, new backgrounds of track (for example the four different seasons...spring, summer, fall and winter)?...

sorry but i am not familiar with programming...but i am afraid several stuff needs implementation already in the basic data base...

also still waiting for confirmation of grid girls...

As GT5 Prologue from the Playstation Network is 1.9 GB and contains 6 tracks and 70 cars, I don't think DLC tracks would be too big. The problem would rather be: how much SCE would charge for such content?

Demo is around 3Gb, strip it down to assets only (5 tracks, 15 cars) and maybe you cut the total size by half or more (wild guess). (oopsie, didn't see Shirakawa post)

If we look at how things are done now, in the GT5 lifetime, PD would only need to supply assets that comply with the newer tech (tracks supporting d\n transition and weather) and standard to premium conversions.

@Shirakawa
A 99 cents for a new car? Or maybe free if it's a standard > premium conversion. Oh well, who knows >_>

Guys do u think they will reveal the exact number of cars that will appear in the game..?
This 200+ (P) and 800+ (S) is really annoying. Oh, and after TGS, is there another event before GT5 releases...?

Thanks

No i don't believe there is another games event 'till GT5 releases. Also the plus next to the amount of cars could be a sign of future DLC's, meaning they could be constantly working on new Premium cars, and remodelling the standards into Premiums.

Prologue cars appx 200k polygons and tracks less detailed.

Well, maybe watching an NASCAR race can get boring, but driving at Daytona with 16 cars will be a lot of fun.

Hell, this weekend we have 4 PS3's in the same room running Prologue and when we get a full field of cars (currently 8 is all we saw) and the 4 of us teaming up against the competition it can get a bit heart pumping at times.
Now bump that up to 16, set the # of laps and race your ass off at over 240 mph, bumper to bumper, side by side, trying to edge out the rest of the field, well you get it. Well I do at least.
For me that's exciting. 👍

Of course turn down the speed to Cup speed (200+) and it should be just as fun.

Here's to Nov 2nd, 👍

After TGS there is a games expo at the start of October in London!
