did anyone notice this ?!

sorry if old ! but i didn`t see these details in any game !

What I really wan´t to know is, did the distance in the cockpit change? I can see an 3503 km ?? I hope it changes..

:drool:there is a windshield marking on the down-right corner.

Like some said you get this in Prologue as well. Not all but few of the cars have them. And you can even see the tint on the windows when using cockpit view (notice when you use the bumper cam then switching to cockpit view) and that different car have different windshield tinting.

Someone should explain to me those smooth shadows in the cockpit...it's the first time I see them

Noticed this too but also that the menu car selection screens seem to have very little screen jaggies as well.

I agree the jaggies in shadows is a major spoiling factor of Prologue.
If GT5 has cured these saw tooth shadows I will be mighty pleased.

I actually think the shadows have been smoothed out.

Little off topic: To compensate the wait for TGS, here's some rare special feature footage of GT3. You can see a lot of interview footage with Kaz, bit of the PD studio and him driving and setting up a Lancer on Twin Ring Motegi.

It's in German though. :P

Edit: If someone wants despirately a translation of a certain part or the whole thing, I guess I could do it. :):scared::crazy:

I just played the GT5 demo at a Electronic Boutique. I believe its the same demo as the one at the Best Buys. I played it until the store closed. I drove the GTR (JGTC), Gallardo, 458, F60 and Jeff Gordon's Impala. The settings I used were professional and all assits off.

I first drove the GTR (JGTC) on R246. I first noticed that I had to immediately adjust to a new braking point(first corner). I couldn't use the same braking mark I used in GT4. The AI soon left me behind because I still hadn't adjusted to the physics(feels a lot like the GT academy Time Trail). I remember it took me a lot laps to get use to the 370Z during the TT(I play with the DS3).

The second car I drove was the Gallardo. I drove it in a time trial run on the Ring and decided to tackle the Ring the same way I do in GT4. I soon realized I committed a huge error. The first couple of corners felt the same but then I noticed I had to adjust at a few corners that I always took at full speed(which at first I lost control of the Lambo).

Hello all. Sort of going to comment/make this an intro post. I joined way back in 2004. I joined just lurking and reading this site a lot. However I really want to start contributing.

My name is Sean and I live in North Carolina, USA. Been playing since the first game and I love every iteration. I have the CE pre ordered and time has slowed to a crawl these past few weeks. While I agree GT5 will have its downsides overall I think it's going to be very enjoyable and impressive. Can't wait for some more coverage at this year's TGS. Hopefully some more light will be shed on this gem. I have been all over this area looking for the demo but I can't find one anywhere. Jealous of you guys who get to try it out haha.

Anyway hit me up on PSN anytime. ID = Sephy71. I look forward to finally being a part of this forum and hope to meet some great members!

The time trial demo physics were perfect imo I hope they have'nt changed too much.

Yeah. I really liked the time trial physics too. It was hard at first but then it felt very rewarding when I finally had control of the 370Z. I didn't let that car beat me, I tamed that car. It felt even more rewarding when I saw my PSN ID in the top 120 lap times for the stock version (I play with the controller).

This was the first time we saw the Gallardo cockpit, back at CES Jan, filmed by Gamespot. Shadows were smooth here. I think it varies from car to car

And Mimaximax also filmed it when he had access to the same demo later on
Exterior car body shadows are still jagged. Car also had no flappy paddles...

I agree if there is one thing I dislike of GT5P is when at the main menu and the camera is rotating around the car some look bad.

Yes it does very very much!

mph guage changes like the real thing

What?! I think the little screen saver makes EVERY car look incredible. I can't wait to see what GT5 has in store. And the warehouse style garages from back at CES? I really hope that is going to make an appearance

You need to understand a limitations of consoles hardware, then how developers avoid them, squeezing every drop in performance, then watch GT5P menu again. :sly:👍
(I just mean that aliasing is not their fault)

It varies from ammount of shadows and other graphical elements to render on the screen at once. In one of the latest videos I spotted instant change to aliased shadows as soon as many other cars appeared on the screen.

Last damage videos are showing something that I will be surely satisfied with if it's adjustable to real degree - after some 50 mph crash your car should be written off and the race quits. It will bring the fear, tension and carefulness of a real race which will be fantastic. My only complaint is that those wing mirrors should fall off in very first moment of contact with barrier. But instead of that they just penetrate through trackside barriers which is weird.

GT is surely coming into final stage and although we even haven't been able to see final build it looks promissing. I'm pretty excited and can't wait any longer :scared::dopey:

Welcome, you'll meet some great members on here, and well, you'll meet many others.

Not the best place to say hello, since a introduce yourself section already exists, but i'm sure the mods will forgive you this time.

You probably picked a good time to start contributing, things will be moving very fast-very quickly-very soon.

Here a video from GT5 in 3D i tried at the IFA in Berlin, last week. My thoughts are written under de video in my youtube channel. Ckick twice on the video or click on MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL in my sig.
