Is it just me, or does listening to a tuned WRC car give you the big O? I love their short gears causing them to hit the rev limiter a lot. Not to mention the turbos and exhaust parts they have going.

I dunno. They sound fairly utilitarian to me. A bit like some GT cars.
They don't sound terrible, just not particularly inspiring, to my mind.

That said, the sheer volume in person is usually exhilarating enough.

yep, on the other hand i love the sound of any car when driven in "anger" :) , except maybe for a tesla.

I havent heard any new music tracks for GT5 , the soundtrack in the past GT's were very selective and good . Im sure the soundtrack will be lush when the final product is ready.

I like Ken's Fiesta of course but stock Fietas and Focuses are bleh. It would be great if we could have his old Subaru in the game though.

is there a chance we could see a GT5 demo on the PSN before the relase? I liked the time trial for GT academy, but it would be a dream to have even like 5cars and the north loop of the nurburgring!

A demo would be awesome but I believe (I may be mistaken) that KY has already said there will be no demo.

GT has such a wide audience I don't think there would be any point in releasing a demo, since most people already know if they will buy it or not.

A demo with one track, 5 cars, weather, day/night cycle and damage would be epic ...I really hope they are going to release one, this is a big opportunity for Sony to make GT5 even more popular and they shouldn't miss it.
It's just hard to create a demo for such a big game that really is able to represent the game itself and not just a small part of it.

Speaking of electric cars with normal sounds... that reminded me of this video

Imagine a prius with a sound mod of a corvette ;)

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No its some marketing trick that preteneds to cut down on greenhouse gases but ends making loads anyway in the production process.

On a side note I wonder if you will be able to modify hybrid/electric cars. If memory serves correct Gt4 didn't allow massive modification of the prius and the honda Insight (?). Would be fun to obliterate people online with one of them lol

That Mini is like something Lotus Engineering have been working on. Except it's part of a cabin noise reduction system there. On top of that, they also have one that projects the sound of a normal engine from the car so it's easier to hear when crossing the road, for example (since electric cars are quieter than fire-breathing ones...?)

One of the first things I wanna do when I boot up GT5 for the first time is buy a few crap-tastic cars and soup them up. If it's cool, I'd love to receive some suggestions regarding the best lemons to mod:). Thanks.

Agree although the XJ13 was a very pleasant surprise ( and that's an understatement ) although I do really hope the E-type ( like the 300SL ) will be Premium and also hope we might get the new XJ or at least the XF.
I fully expect the E type to be back in and will be really surprised if the XFR doesn't make it.

No need to mod the good ones. This one has 700BHP from 4 electric motors, one on each wheel - opens all kind of possibilities with electronic control 4WD system ala Nissan GTR! And a torque curve a petrol engine can only dream of.
Plus nice motor regeneration braking. Makes a nice drag machine, since it has no gearbox, so top speed is limited

Anyway some of these cars have a selectable engine sound with external speakers :)

Actually that's good to hear because that means that they've got some exciting stuff up their sleeve :)
Yeah I know. I just put that sad face because I don't know if it will be worth to wake up at 6:00 AM and watch the conference, not to mention that we don't know exactly when that gt5 session will begin...

That car company is based in the same city I live in! Used to know a guy who worked in that factory. I wonder if petrol engines will still be mass produced in ten years or will electricity/hydrogen powered cars totally take over? Maybe a new tech will come by lol imagine nuclear powered cars:drool:

Anyways back to GT5, anyone know when information will released from TGS about the game? I just hope car body modifcation is confirmed but thats like saying I want gold sprinkles on the icing of the cake lol. Either way GT5 is bound to be awesome :)

Sure there is a chance...but I would not go as far as saying it would be a dream. The game is out in a few weeks anyway, so it's not like you have long to wait is it? Besides, I don't see how releasing a PSN demo would make GT5 more popular. They need to target potential new customers out on the street, not necessarily those with a PS3 already sat under their TV.

Kazunori wrote not one but two times on his twitter that there will be no demo for GT5 and that we'll just have to wait for the final game.

Yeah, besides with the retail demos around in the US and now in the UK, plus with GT5's final release less than 2 months away, i really don't see the need for a PSN demo, and to be honest, nor do i want one!

where is all the big news being held captive if this game is coming out next month? I can only stay at Bestbuy for so long, until the janitor kicks me out and tells me to stay in school.... and quit playing GT5.

Same here I-don't-want-it. Why? Simply because it would ruin the GT5 experience. Also there would certainly be complaints all over the internet for some minor bugs (360 fanboys' gold) and stuff that is not included in the demo so people would just assume there won't be in the final game either.
It would just be an extra stress for nothing.

All I need now, while waiting for GT5, is TGS info, playstation move...job, life etc..
