so much hate, give him a brake, hi is obviously not a gt fan neither a sim racer, i enjoyed watching the preview

I think this guy represents a lot of the people out there... people who are interested in GT5 because others are interested and there has been a lot of hype and the eye candy has been top notch...

I would think a large percent of the buyers will get the game, be shocked it's not at all like what they though (a better version of NFS Hot Persuit or Burnout) and shelve the game.

Most likely whats going to happen. I think if the physics are the the TT Demo, alot of non sim fans are going to just think its too hard of a game.

I have seem many people say that GT5P and TT were too "arcady and drifty" because they don't know how to drive and assume that GT is just doing the oversimple, over easy, drft thing poorly instead of realizing they are just doing it wrong.

But that's how I think a majority of people out there are.

Did he actually say that? I think that guy is Forza fanboy. He even said GT5 is slightly better than GT5P but about the same as Forza 3.

For the average joe the difference will probably appear negligeable...

It sucks that you can't use Standard cars in the "pick-your-location" Photomode (non-replay), I was really looking forward to that. That's a bit of a let down, oh well.

I think that guy only pretends that he loves GT. Its pretty obvious he is Forza fanboy ^_^

Hope thats a joke cause I want him to review the game properly as he has at least under 48 hours to unlock/open features that he wants to see in GT5.

Oh yeah Justin Calvert forgot to show us night racing...

Why does everyone have to turn it into a Forza v. GT thing? :ouch:

The fact is, that most people either love GT or don't understand it. I would not expect Gamespot to be the place to get a good review. Go look at Chris' videos. That is coming from our perspective.

Gamespot, IGN, and Gametrailers will review it from a Joe's perspective. Which is only fair and expected.

seriously why would someone be "butthurt" in any of these circumstances, people need to chill with the versus thing, theres more to life than being a douche at forums. You either enjoy Forza, GT, or both. who cares. As long as you have fun nobody can take that from you.

Yea, that is what I have never understood. Why do people have to hate one if they like the other. It seems like people who like Forza would like GT and vice versa.

It's freaking Dark-Age ignorant logic.

exactly, but it's the same with iphones vs android, mac vs windows, ps3 vs xbox 360, ati vs nvidia, amd vs intel, etc, i can't understand why would you want to limit yourself to half of the offerings instead of enjoying everything, or at least choosing one because of the facts and not because you are too blind/closed to admit that the other one might be better in some aspects

sadly it seems that the majority of people doesn't think like us, or maybe it seems that way because we only pay attention to this matter when we see someone being a fanboy

To be honest I suspect a lot of the reason is that some people can only afford half. They want to be sure they made the best decision so they're constantly trying to play the other options down. I've been guilty of it myself in the past, but since I got a bit luckier financially I've been buying pretty much everything and enjoying both sides of the coin.

I actually read a paper on the mentallity that polarizes people and they said studies suggested that it's an extention of the natural human trait to desire to be right.

Obviously not all people are the same so this trait is more prominent in some than others, however when found it seems to be a form of self confirmation in making the "best" decision...

People have a natural tendancy to want to know and know first. Once they have gone through the work to know, they defend their position because they naturally don't want to find out that they are wrong.

That's what they came up with anyway and it sounds pretty spot on to me...

Yea, I think you and MidianGTX have a point. And maybe it is amplified because some can only afford one console want to downplay the other. And because GT and Forza are the biggest exclusive driving games on their respective consoles, people claim to hate the one they don't have. It just seems like people would think more. :yuck:

Personally, I would have bought an xbox just for Forza if it worked with my G27.

i could understand that if i wasn't the exception to the rule, i can't even afford half, i live in a third world country, i'm really lucky to have a ps3 (i have it because my brother bought it in the US and brought it to me, here it costs $600), i have to pay $82 to buy GT5 (i'm more than happy to pay it), and it arrives one week after you can buy it, so i guess i should be one of the biggest ps3/gt5 fanboys here, but i'm not, so the money issue can be a factor, but it's not determinant

that could be right, i admit that i always want to be right, i really don't like being wrong, but for some reason i just don't translate that to making me believe that everything i choose (ps3/gt5) it's unarguably the best in its class, it should be, that's why i chose it, but if someone proves that it's not, or say something showing that in a certain aspect it's worse, i won't start a flame war

Personally, I would have bought an xbox just for Forza if it worked with my G27.

same for me, only difference is that i have a g25, i was going to buy a xbox and forza 3, then i saw that it was incompatible with my g25, so i bought the ps3 last december hoping to have gt5 in march, then i started waiting until november, in the meantime i realized that gt5 was going to be a lot better than forza 3, but i'm not pretty sure if the difference is worth a whole year that i could have spent playing forza instead of gt5 prologue, hope it is, i'll know next week 👍

PS: maybe i'm a rare exception, maybe i'm a fanboy and i still dont know it

EDIT: well, the loyalty can be another thing, i played GT1 and GT2 (and loved them, best games i ever played) in PS1, i couldn't play 3 and 4 because i didnt have a PS2, so i'm not "true" or "hardcore" GT fan

I really dislike that review. Shouldn't have watched it. Those two. . . its like they have no joy in the game. No enthusiasm. Next time can we try different people, maybe a different place? Say G4? Adam Sessler?

Yeah it looks they were not too interested.

The guy likes behind view only
He is really bad in drifting, says he is good in nfs lol
He likes Top Gear track but couldn't keep the car on track
He did not want to turn off driving line haha
He does not like cockpit view and in rain/snow he did not even want to try it.
He was using defaualt settings.
He was not good in photo mode

 GS need to do better than that in Review

Yea, I have always owned playstations, but that is because I love GT, GTA, and FF. Now two of the 3 can be bought on the other system, but I have a feeling GT is more down my alley than Forza. So, I will probably look towards playstation again the next go around.

But regarding this preview (sorry to get everyone off topic) it is unfortunate those guys seemed clueless about the game. But the fact they are driving with the dual shock in 3rd person... meh. That's almost appropriate, since the vast majority of GT owners will do the same.

However, I won't take the review as applicable to me. I hope they give it a good score though. Because I would love to see the series grow. It is a fantastic series that is probably my last video game "love".

Bring on Wednesday. 👍

Im really curious about something sorry if anyone mentioned it already but how come the Dome Zero is at the RedBull hangar place I thought that car was a standard

My three favorite former Gamespot editors are Greg Kasavin, Alex Navarro, and Jeff Gerstman. I think that they were great and entertaining reviewers. They really seemed like true gaming fans to me and that's why I enjoyed their reviews and respected their opinions so much. It's a shame that the editors they have now all seem like former Gamestop employees.

Mention something like that "timeless" debate of FMvsGT to someone who doesnt play video games, and you will see of how much importance it is really...none.

Play what you like, play what you want, play what you can...

On that note, i dont like gamespot, they are like the Fox News of gaming sites.

watched this and now I'm a bit worried, both of them seemed pretty unimpressed and after watching that I am too, I really don't think GT5 is going to be leaps and bounds better than GT4, just as GT4 was to GT3, graphics were nice and clear but unlike alot of videos we've seen thus far it really doesn't look all that flash, was planning on picking it up thursday morning here in Australia but i'm having second thoughts now.

That's got to be the most unprofessional game review I've ever seen!:grumpy: How do these guys keep their jobs? One of them is constantly checking his phone like he's hoping his date from last night will call him (not likely), and the one playing is completely clueless. It sound's like they haven't even read the info they receive from Sony. Off with their heads.

To be fair the guy checking his phone was getting live questions piped to him via his phone so....

And as for not checking their info from sony, it did strike me that he seemed surprised by a few things we knew about with premiums and what not, but I say that just proves how many people out there will still be surprised by how thingsa re implimented.

Also considering we have seen others sites swing the other way (just repeat the bullet points Sony has fed them including old stuff that's not true like all cars have cockpits) I think it's kind of nice to see how your average Joe will react to the game unlike us crazies at GTP :)

That isnt even a review. Read some of the posts about that preview.

Wow they are totally clueless.... He was complaining about how easy is was and he was playing with skid recovery whatever, he was playing with standard physics. They were harsh.

My favorite is he said the premiums aren't any better than FM3 and that they are only marginally better than Prologue. BS!
