Am I the only one who is also realy pleased to finally see the v10 R8 in gt5, With all the demos using the V8 I was starting to worry there would be no V10 in the game.

Jay
No you're not the only one. I assumed the 5.2 V10 version was a no brainer but started getting second thoughts as may new gameshow demos turned up with late model cars but the 4.2 V8 kept re-occuring, it was a nice suprise to see the V10 made it.

Yeah. I was assuming the V10 should be in no doubt and pretty much expected it, although given that they kept using the V8 in all the demos I was a tad worried. Great news that the V10 is in. Now we don't have the listen to that horrible V8 engine sound from Prologue.

Anyway, now we have two new confirmed cars:

Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro
Shelby Cobra 427

AKA Hitler's car. Okay, maybe we shouldn't go that far.

And Hitler's other car was a Porsche. :P err.....you're right we shouldn't go there. But VW and Porsche were both Nazi car makers. :P And now, VW owns the company that made them and VW is cool and not so Nazi. :P

Porsche 356 wasn't it? Just to clarify.

Porsche only started to make cars badged Porsche after WW2, he designed the Volkswagen Beetle ( also a name used first after WW2 as it was initially called KDF-wagen ) and some armoured vehicles as well during or before WW2.
But to call it a Nazi car is just, well, a bit too much now is it? Every German car manufacturer was involved in some way during the Nazi-era as were some American car companies by the way ( Opel as part of GM and Ford for example ).

I didn't call it nazi I was just wondering which Porsche it was.

and to racecar those cars look like licorishe or something.. haha

I know you didn't call it that but the 356 was released after WW2, not during so any direct Nazi-connections to this car are non-existent.
Only the Beetle on which it was based was directly linked to the Nazi-era as it was commisioned by them.

Ah yes thats right, The 356 was released in 1948, the beetle in '38. Giving myself a little history lesson.

Mazda 787b '91 and Audi R10 '06 are premium, confirmed.

They join the Peugeot 908 '10 as the 3 known premium Le Mans race cars.

Any chance we can get standard and premium cars identified as such in the first post?

I wonder if they'll include the 2011 Audi R8 GT at launch.

560 BPH. Not bad!

Love that car but highly doubt it. How many 2010 cars do we have? 12 or so without counting separate NASCAR models. How many 2009 models do we have or even 2008.

I understand your point, but clearly they're not showing MANY cars.

I still honestly expect 3 2011 cars. I feel like it's possible.

I also feel like this thread is not a wishlist.
As for not showing many cars, we know more premium cars than we don't, so they're showing more than they're not showing.

I wonder if the Chrome Line cars have a higher potential power output than the regular versions.:P It's nice to see a solid pic of the 300SL and Cobra.

Awesome. :)

You know, I've never noticed until right now how HUGE the mirror assembly on the Murciélago is.

I expect there to be a lot of 2010 and 2011 cars. I mean for GT4 there were a bunch of 2005 cars and some 2006 cars like the '06 Eclipse and 06 VW Golf Mark V. :P So, I expect to see a few 2011 cars anyway.

According to GTPlanet's guide, there's a whopping 9 '05 cars in GT4 (one of which was a concept). A lone '06 in the Eclipse, which was questionable anyways since it was based clearly off the concept.

Excluding the Nascars, there's less than that in GT5 so far if you replace '05 and '06 with '10 and '11. I'm not expecting a lot more from these two years as much as I'm hoping for more between '05 and '09, but then again, there's a whole lot of noteworthy cars released in the last 12 months alone, so I guess we'll see.

Most likely the LMPs of this year or last years one, 2010 production vehicles and also future concepts as well.

Will also want to see in GT5 (since P.D has aquired the Ferrari License) is the Ferrari FXX.

;)
