That very old list was a temporary thing just to see what happened if the tracks apparently confirmed by racesimcentral (in light gray at that time) turned out to be true. Please don't quote it out of context as it's outdated, inaccurate and ugly.

Which track could this be? I don't remember a track from e.g. GT4 with tall mountains so close by (as in the background in this picture).

I think it's just Chamonix, judging by the quality of the track, it's not newly made for GT5

GT5 is going a bit F1 heavy on the course selection if that is correct. 18 of those circuits are either F1 current or former courses. Including Cote D'Azur as Monaco, then Spa, Hockenheim, Nurburgring, Interlagos (Brazil), Monza, Yas Marina, Sepang, Catalunya, Shanghai and Silverstone, we got an 11 race calendar of current race courses. Add in Zolder, Magny-Cours, Imola, Estoril, Indy, Jerez and Le Mans, there's an 18 race schedule that might take forever to complete but is tons better than previous games.

That list is old (from page 50 or so) and deliberately inaccurate as temporarily based on dubious sources (the circuits in light gray)!
Why in the hell did akmuq quote it (and left that there despite my request to not do that), that is beyond my comprehension.
At this time, it's too much misleading as people are going to take it as the "latest confirmed list".

Have you even noticed the high mountain ridges at the top of that picture? Not only is it insanely detailed (and that from an off-screen picture), but also Chamonix doesn't show that type of mountains in GT4, but merely some overgrown steep hills. But it can still be Chamonix, as it is located in the Alps, surrounded by big mountains. However, those big mountains are not in GT4, so if it is the same track, than it has to be newly made.

Yes I did notice that. It could be the same, with some things added in the background. As I said, the foreground looks very undetailed, below GT5 quality.

You guys remember the Transfăgărăşan from Top Gear ?
How lovely would it be to have that road for ourselves in Gt5...
It won't happen , but it is a stunning road...

Jeremy quote :
From above, it looks like every great corner from every great racetrack in the world has been knitted together to create one unbroken gray ribbon of automotive perfection...

Check 11:50.
It is AMAZING.

it's an amazing road. being from romania i've had the chance to drive it a couple of times and it's absolutely perfect.

I think it's Chamonix. I imagine they took the track and put it on a shiny new background. After all, the background is quite simple to make and they just updated the track a bit to make it newer. The new background add to the realism.

I'd have to check but I don't think the road has those concave banks at the side in the GT4 track, just flat slopes. It would be a strange thing to do as an upgrade, and aside from that it could easily be that track. The footage from the weather trailer is definitely a different one to GT4 though, so it would make sense that this is too.

Anyway when's someone sticking the video on youtube?

Not a track but I'd like to see Penine Sands as a location to mess about in, in GT5. Top Gear have used it a few times and, to be fair, it would be brilliant for creating crazy races and stunning photo-shoots.

Yep, spot on. They've used it twice; Once for the Vauxhall Monaro / Jag S-Type / Chrysler 300C comparison, the other time for the Porsche 911 / BMW M6 / Jag XJR comparison.

I took a closer look at the Qore video (frame by frame with Windows Movie Maker) and I've got the idea that there is a rut visible on this track, from a different car or lap. Not sure though, because of the quick camera movement and therefore most of the track being all blurry.

Nice spot.

Sounds perfect to me! I'm sure the F1 / GT fan crossover is high, and all F1 people wanna do is drive on the F1 tracks! Really looking forward to Yas Marina - I haven't seen this elsewhere in the thread are you sure about that?

The list showing circuits coming from the recent F1 championship was temporarily based on unconfirmed rumors from racesimcentral.com, discussed about 100 pages ago. It's old and deliberately inaccurate (it was made to show what a list containing those tracks would have looked like). Other than that rumor, there's been no other mention of those tracks.

You guys are about to force me to delete/edit old posts :(
If you really wanted to discuss about speculated tracks you could have quoted this much more recent and better sourced post.
