Could it be Circuit de la Sarthe?

About what you said it could be that other circuit within it: Bugatti Circuit

He probably paused the game as you can see there are option icons at the bottom of the screen.

Yeah, I thought so, but why pausing the game if he isn't even looking at the camera?

Anyway, it is Nurburgring at night!

Well it could have been a course maker track. :sly:

It's crazy when you think this game will have an infinite amount of spa or nurburgring style courses as well as the rally tracks.

Personally I think that the difference in quality between proper tracks and course maker tracks will be almost like that between Standard cars and Premium cars.
Built-in tracks will obviously be much better in several ways.

Im a rally buff, so to have multiple types of surface and environment coupled with randomized Point to POint stages guided by a Co-Driver, im nuts about that, so ill take a hit in the detail because most of the time ill never drive the same line twice! :dopey::dopey:

Ahhh I love it! No more 10 laps at grand canyon Vs a belligerent AI who has diplomatic immunity! No more Whistler Ice Race! and crappy Swiss Alps with its HSR width.

If i have one complaint about the course maker ive seen so far its the lack of Track Width options and the invisible barriers, I just hope that runing into one of these invisible walls wont cause us Damage!...Cuz that will look beyond retarded.

The track width can be set with the Course Maker, even per sector, if I'm not mistaken.

How confirmed is this? I know we've seen track width sliders, but I think they were missing from the only video of the course maker in action. Also I think I've only seen screenshots of a single width slider for the whole course, not any indication that it's sector-specific.

It was mentioned in Veronica Magazine (here). My sources say that the author got his information from the Room299 launch event. Information from that event has been posted also on GTPlanet, but not as detailed as in the Veronica Magazine. I think it was also mentioned at the GamesCom press event.

I dont think so, in the screens we've seen so far, as well as the Course Maker vid, there was no indication of road width sliders or options... The Veronique interview seemed to confuse the radius of the corners for the actual width of the road, who knows how it will unfold.

I was a HUGE HUGE fan of Citta di Aria, many despise it for its narrow roads and drastic elevation changes, but to me it was as close to a Tarmac rally stage as i could find in GT4.

Me too, loved that track and hope it, or something similar or perhaps even better, will be back in GT5.

I wonder if someone translated the right part of the screenshot (unfortunately one option out of three is covered by the slider)

Hm, I think someone posted an english version of that screen, I remember one of those 3 options being obscured by the slider.
Edit: can't find it, might have misremembered it as being English.

1st slider or the zoomed in one is # of corners.
10 corners max per sector, 7 sectors max per course\stage = 70 corners max.

Speculation:

2nd and 3rd are probably the Radius or Sharpness of the corners per sector and banking.

What about the elevation are we able to change that from what you can read?

Guys, this is far from confirmed, but I got to thinking that when they interviewed Kaz about Nascar, he was at Texas Motor Speedway. They are going to debut the GT5 Gamestop car this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. I wonder if Texas might be one of the Nascar tracks. I hope so because I always liked Texas in Nascar games. I would really like Charlotte and Bristol too, but I know that most Nascar tracks will not included. Texas would be a nice change from the wideopen Daytona, and also different from Indy.

I would also assume Texas is on the short list of other NASCAR ovals. If PD only adds Indy and Daytona (not counting Infineon, as it's a road course), it will be a bit of a letdown on their NASCAR promoting. Like you said, Bristol should also be highly considered. I doubt PD would add multiple of the cookie-cutter short tracks based on what we've seen so far in terms of NASCAR additions, so having both Charlotte and Texas would be a stretch in my eyes.

Here's my list of what PD should include in GT5 beyond what we've seen, even though most of it's wishful thinking. I'm picking these tracks based on their uniqueness and their ability to coincide with features that will be a first for the GT series.

-Bristol (best of the short tracks and races both night and day)
-Richmond (a relatively short trioval track...races both night and day)
-Texas (a superfast cookie-cutter 1.5 mile tri-oval...Kaz visited there)
-Phoenix (unique desert location with unique tri-oval design, races night and day)

Places like Talladega and Charlotte are fan favorites, but having Daytona depletes the need for Talladega as their setups are driving style is pretty much the same, even though the tracks are unique in their own ways). Charlotte isn't much different than Texas. Both are awesome, but Kaz was in Texas so that's why I figure it would be an addition. None of the other NASCAR tracks really stand out in one's eyes that would be unique, well-known, and fit into the GT5 model.

If you add the 4 tracks I mentioned, you'd have 7 total NASCAR tracks, which is a nice small base for PD to build off of for the future, and all of them being completely unique and all of them fitting into PD's new features such as day and night transitions.

But no elevations you can see?

Have a look at the tabs that are above that, the first has an image of mountains. I'm guessing this is where you can change the scenery and elevation of the land as seen in the contour lines on the map. The other 4 tabs show the sections of the track of which it looks like you can have 7 in total (only 4 are available for this course since we see there are 4 on the map).

So what we need is a screenshot of what's under that tab with the mountain icon. Hopefully you can change the contour lines and then it just depends on where your track runs as to the track elevation. I'm not sure if the course editor will be that involved though. Still, there has to be some interesting options under that first tab.

In the video they only show number of sections, weather and time.

The different variations appear to show part of a single large contour map that's centered differently for each track. I'm thinking the elevation could be fixed and roughly based on real life setting, but there might be options to choose how hilly each route can be.

Something else about the track creator , will we be able to create stuff like long drivingroads 20/30 km in length ? Like a mountain road as I posted before (Transfagarasan , Stelvio Pass , Trollstigen) ?

I doubt that but it's also true that we haven't seen everything, or final screens.
The first mock-ups for example had an option to select whether the track should be a closed loop circuit or point-to-point, which disappeared on later ones.

A maximum length of 10 Km would be just enough for circuits, but for point-to-point track, it would not be enough in most cases, in my opinion.

We'll see in the final build. For now, there are no confirmed details, anything could change.
