Guys, this is far from confirmed, but I got to thinking that when they interviewed Kaz about Nascar, he was at Texas Motor Speedway. They are going to debut the GT5 Gamestop car this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. I wonder if Texas might be one of the Nascar tracks. I hope so because I always liked Texas in Nascar games. I would really like Charlotte and Bristol too, but I know that most Nascar tracks will not included. Texas would be a nice change from the wideopen Daytona, and also different from Indy.
I would also assume Texas is on the short list of other NASCAR ovals. If PD only adds Indy and Daytona (not counting Infineon, as it's a road course), it will be a bit of a letdown on their NASCAR promoting. Like you said, Bristol should also be highly considered. I doubt PD would add multiple of the cookie-cutter short tracks based on what we've seen so far in terms of NASCAR additions, so having both Charlotte and Texas would be a stretch in my eyes.
Here's my list of what PD should include in GT5 beyond what we've seen, even though most of it's wishful thinking. I'm picking these tracks based on their uniqueness and their ability to coincide with features that will be a first for the GT series.
-Bristol (best of the short tracks and races both night and day)
-Richmond (a relatively short trioval track...races both night and day)
-Texas (a superfast cookie-cutter 1.5 mile tri-oval...Kaz visited there)
-Phoenix (unique desert location with unique tri-oval design, races night and day)
Places like Talladega and Charlotte are fan favorites, but having Daytona depletes the need for Talladega as their setups are driving style is pretty much the same, even though the tracks are unique in their own ways). Charlotte isn't much different than Texas. Both are awesome, but Kaz was in Texas so that's why I figure it would be an addition. None of the other NASCAR tracks really stand out in one's eyes that would be unique, well-known, and fit into the GT5 model.
If you add the 4 tracks I mentioned, you'd have 7 total NASCAR tracks, which is a nice small base for PD to build off of for the future, and all of them being completely unique and all of them fitting into PD's new features such as day and night transitions.
