Thank you for providing a link to the specific point. I'm trying to avoid watching things like the intro movie until I get the game, so it was very helpful to be able to view just the specific few seconds.

I don't believe that is Spa. I've checked a few bits of F1 footage I had saved and can't see anywhere where that kind of tower is used on a gentle downhill right-hander.

Yep its definitley Suzuka. I just watched an F1 onboard and the way the track kinks just before the hairpin as well as the marshal's post seem to confirm this.

Somehow, I'm afraid that Cape Ring might be "Spa" for GT5.
It appears to be a semipermanent road circuit (have you noticed the "40 Km/h" markings on the road in the proximities of the looping bridge?) , has great elevation changes, it's rather long, has got a european forest scenery, etc.

I think Cape Ring is meant to be in the style of a Proving Ground circuit, which have parts which resemble public roads for testing purposes. It would explain the crazy 360 degree spiral, although I don't think any real proving ground has one of those! It's nice to see them do something a bit crazy for an original circuit.

It looks like Spa isn't in. I'm sure some info would have reached us by now if it was. Kinda disappointing, but at least there's a good load of other great tracks anyway.

Ugh, I haven't seen the track video. But please don't tell me the old Rome Circuit has been replaced. :ill:

No info. But I'd say likely, likely, unlikely.

Eiger G Trail is your new Grindelwald.

Nope, you might be thinking of the Swiss Alps rally course though.

G Trail will be a very steep gravel track, should be a lot of fun flying down the mountain.

Sadly it looks like it, there are big fences blocking off the old cobbled turn which don't look like the swappable temporary things they normally use, but I can't say for certain.

Finally we got the list
I am ok with it, even though I was expecting some surprise... e.g. Spa, New York or Seattle, some new Nascar tracks or some snow tracks surrounded by trees...

Hey I've just noticed it! It's Beginner... should we expect some track to be unlocked with game progress?

Yes, like in GT4. Nordschleife and Top gear test track is not on the list yet, so expect more tracks to be unlocked as you progress 👍

Aw, man. That doesn't sound good. :guilty:

But part of me is hoping it's in there as a variation or something, since more tracks can be unlocked. If not, this will be one of my biggest disappontments with GT5.

Approximate real life Eiger tracks representation:

eigerfull.jpg

Eiger Short Course - Short road course - 2.35 Km
Eiger K Trail (Kleine Scheidegg) - Long dirt course - 6.65 Km
Eiger G Trail (Eigergletscher) - Medium dirt course - 2.95 Km
Eiger W Trail (Wengernalp) - Short dirt course - 1.55 Km

The dirt course initials are after the closest train station they reach.

Yes I was too much in a hurry...
Right! Piazza del campo and other ones are not in the list.... hmmmm I am hungry ... more than ever!

That list wouldn't be the final track list, since not all the tracks are revealed at the start of a players career. In GT5 there appears to be levels, the player providing the info is at beginners level. Unless somebody could get a copy of the disk & dump the code, we will have to wait until players reach higher levels before really knowing what all the tracks are. The Prima Guide probably wont come out until the game is out.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but isnt Grindelwald at/near Eiger?

Yeah it's about 10 miles East at the bottom of the valley. The Gran Turismo 2 Grindelwald track was a road course very loosely based on the town.

The dirt course initials are after the closest train station they reach.

👍 Good point!
Yours matches mine apart from the original course, but that's harder to guess than the new ones!
I hadn't noticed the K track went through the station and off the bottom junction of the road course but it makes sense. Probably paved down to the Wengernalp hairpin to make it look more useful in real life.

Good work on the track lists so far :)

Is it still possible that Apricot Hill and Midfield Raceway can still be in the game? I sure would miss both of those two. I've never been a fan of fictional tracks in games but GT has done wonders with some of theirs and it would be a shame to get rid of them. :grumpy:
