I know the talks been about NASCAR having a complete season of tracks, but knowing PD history with JGTC/Super GT cars. It being (maybe the NASCAR of Japan or not).
There might not have been as much awareness outside of Japan if PD had not included these cars in Gran Turismo.
Half of the series tracks which make up most of the season are already represented in the game, Suzuki, Fuji & Montegi, three tracks Sepang,
Sports-Land Sugo & Okayama remain. Just got to wonder if any of these will make the cut?.:)

It would be great if all the Super GT tracks make the cut but I don't think that would be the case. I'd be happy even if one more is added preferably Sugo or Autopolis but even if they're not, Infineon, Laguna Seca, Nurburgring GP or GT's own Grand Valley and Apricot Hill will make great track substitutes for the high downforce and grippy Super GT cars.

They toyed with it in GT2 going as far a creating cars & GT4 with the Las Vegas strip, but with so much on PD plate, it doesn't seem they will implement it this time. But who know it might be a surprise. Games usually never give me the same appeal, hit the gas, hold the trigger win or lose, real life, depending on horsepower, heat the tires, try to get them to hook up, make all your shift points, maintain control of the vehicle & lots of other variables that game just don't seem to give you.

I'm a little concerned about the tracks.

Everyone speaks about "1,000 amazing cars", well, so far we've only got 16 confirmed tracks, many of PD/Sony talk about "over 20 different tracks", GT5 had well over 30, and GT5 should be an improvement.

With so many cars, 30 odd tracks isn't enough, things may get repetitive after a while.

-> You might not jot this down just yet. But I think that Clubman Stage R5 is semi-confirmed:

^ I'm just pointing it out, nothing to go horray about. :sly:

Does nobody remember the Las Vegas drag strip in GT4?
I'm sure something similar will turn up in GT5 as well ( not that I care much for drag racing ) and at least the long airfield lane on the Top Gear track ( given that it can actually be used ) will provide plenty of opportunity to those who want to go fast in a straight line.:)

Well, I hope not, as it was made up. We need a real life drag strip with a accurately functional "christmas tree".

It was late last night when I posted it, but taking another look at it seems to confirm SSR5.
The shots that we've seen of cars coming out of the tunnel, are likely running the reverse course.
The car in the picture is running SSR5 normal.

nevermind. Obviously, there no tunnel, there, just an overpass

It' may not be a tunnel, but just a overpass that can't be seen in the picture.

The thing that is throwing me off is where this shot is taken from. Doesn't seem to be the same intersection. The upper road is running parallel with the road below.

I'm really hoping that GT has a lot more than 20 tracks. 16 venues have already been confirmed and tracks like Trial Mountain, Grand Valley and Laguna have not even been confirmed yet. I was at first expecting all the tracks from GT4 to make another appearence but it isn't looking promising. PD should have put more effort into giving us more tracks rather than hundreds upon hundreds of cars. I'm pretty sure that the majority of people will not even drive more than half of all the cars included. Shame.

Maybe under Clumban stage route 5 where the two road intersect?

The upper road is the CSR5 road.

I see a tunnel up ahead in that pic. Looks like it dives down into one. Notice the white lines kind of disappear and you can just see the sides of the tunnel. Maybe this one is SSR11...or a completely redesigned SSR5. It also appears you might be able to sneak around that tunnel.

This nonsense was cleared up years ago, and upwards of forty tracks have been confirmed for Gran Turismo 5. They've already revealed nineteen tracks, and Polyphony never release entire lists of content in their games.

It probably is Clubman above it. Hard to tell but it looks like the road curves once it gets over the area where the road descends.

Do you have a link showing all 40 tracks?

You say upwards, if it were confirmed it would be a number not upwards of forty.

this track might be neither R5 nor R11. It could be a completely new track, as a bonus or something like that. But if there is the "legendary" R11, then please from GT1. The GT3 has been made easier, while the course from GT1 has the difficult chicane courve.

I'm not so sure, as far as I know PD have been publically saying more than 20 locations. But it does seem weird how we almost have 20 confirmed locations and we are still months away from the release.

I am amazed that people seem to be completely ignoring the fact that both Chris and Kaz have said that the final number of tracks is unknown. Instead, everyone keeps saying "there only 20 tracks" the truth is, there will most likely be more than 20 tracks. I would suspect that the number would be closer to the mid 80s.

Really? 80 tracks that all take 2 years to make... I mean unless they port GT4 tracks I don't see how that is possible.
