Are all the JGTC/SuperGT tracks in? Or what about WRC? How about ALMS?

I'm not going to say every NASCAR track is the same... but the ovals are all far more similar to one another than the huge variances between tracks in other disciplines. Besides, this isn't some replacement for a full-on, NASCAR game. PD tends to give us a wide-ranging taster of the automotive landscape. You get a little bit of this, and a little bit of that...

If history is any indication, PD will stay true to form. PD has never provided all the tracks for any one series.

In the past NASCAR has held exhibitions races in the late ninety's on the Super Speedway at Motegi & at Suzuka on the east course. Indianapolis Motor Speedway
& Daytona International Speedway are almost certainly in, maybe Infineon Raceway. Watkins Glen would be a versatile addition.
Really the question is what tracks that have been in previous GT series would be likely candidates for NASCAR?. :)

The more i watch Nascar, the more i like it. I think people like to badmouth just because it seems to be what "racing purists do".

It´s BS. Saturday´s race was awesome, and if you didn´t liked, well, i guess you don´t really like racing.

Anyway, about the tracks, maybe they could include at least one of each type of track (Pocono, Bristol, Martinsville to go with Daytona and Indy would do the job, but that´s highly unlikely).

We know we will probably just get Indy, Daytona and Infineon.

Sorry if this was already posted....I was going through old stuff and I found what exactly PD mean by track and layout. I know it's nothing new, this is all what most of us thought but it's just to make it clear and stop all the rumors once and for all.
(no more "countries" or "track=real track, layout=fictive track)

I know this is probably wha they mean but they did say Location ,not track and Variation and not Layout.💡

👍 Exactly what happen to me. Start watching it, and now I'm a Nascar junkie.

Just wait. Next year the Challenger and Mustang will be running in the Nation Wide series. Maybe GT5 will get some of those, too.

Chevy should run the Camaro to go with those two as well then. =D

Edit: I see that unfortunately that's exactly what GM doesn't want to do. Too bad. :/

yeah, that was the first test run for the new cars. There should be three more races that they use them in including, I think, the Road America race. And Chevy and Toyota are keeping their cars they're using.

With these definitions of tracks, layouts and variations, then there might already be over 40 tracks, 100 layouts. If we take out from the list of possible tracks those derived from the GT5P weather screen and we include all tracks from GTPSP/GT4 (Yamauchi once told in an interview that all cars and tracks from GTPSP and GT4 would have been included in GT5. This might have changed over time, though) in addition to the confirmed ones, this would be the track list:

This list would be in line with what Jeff Rubenstein said as it has over 100 layouts and over 40 tracks. I suspect some of the GT4 and GTPSP tracks will be dropped for new ones but it seems plausible. If location = country then we do have too few countries and there's too few variations too. I think some of those variations will come from new tracks replacing older ones or from new variations of existing tracks such as the Bugatti circuit at le Mans or the AMA short circuit at Daytona. Whether it's correct we don't know yet but it is plausible to say the least.

The 40/100 portion of his statement is not surprising, but what does he mean when he says, "including all versions of the Nurburgring (which no one has ever done before)"?

Does he just mean GP, Nordschleife, and 24 hour? I thought I remembered someone saying there are more parts to that track.

I definatley agree with you but if location = track (probably is)then why haven't they ubgraded the number ,there is no way we will get only 20 tracks .Especially that they showed us most of them.
Same could apply to cars. When Kaz and GT official site state 950 I think it's the number of finalized cars, and over 1000 the estimated amount to be included in the final game.

About the tracks, maybe Kaz wishes to keep some informations secret (as always) but because of lack of communication, SCEA gives away too many details. Another example could be the number of players/spectators per lobby: PD never said anything about a maximum of 32 users, SCEA did.

Yeah we discussed about this.
Two possibilities:

Jeff is wrong and doesn't know that some other games already have more than 3 layouts of the Nurburgring.

or

he didn't tell us everything...

Oh, must have missed it. Thanks for the clarification. 👍

"All versions..." That would mean that the Südschleife is included, and that has never featured in any game! Südschleife was basically located where the current GP track lies.

"All versions of the Nürburgring" doesn't mean the Südschleife but all 15 other layouts of the track currently in existence, possibly excluding the motorcycle variants and those using the car chicane with the Nordschleife. Atleas that's what I think.

I know the talks been about NASCAR having a complete season of tracks, but knowing PD history with JGTC/Super GT cars. It being (maybe the NASCAR of Japan or not).
There might not have been as much awareness outside of Japan if PD had not included these cars in Gran Turismo.
Half of the series tracks which make up most of the season are already represented in the game, Suzuki, Fuji & Montegi, three tracks Sepang,
Sports-Land Sugo & Okayama remain. Just got to wonder if any of these will make the cut?.:)

Wait up im confused is the track in Valencia, the one that Mark Webber flipped in, in GT5?

No, that's the Valencia Street Circuit. Circuit Ricardo Tormo (aka Circuit de Valencia) was in GT PSP so it's possible it will be in GT5, but we haven't seen it yet.
