Wow monaco is in, amazing, that was my main wish.

Now my wish list is reduced even further to just things like Honda HSV-010, mclaren mp4-12c.

If it uses already existing portions of the track, why not? If it does I'd say it's very possible as it's only a matter of closing down parts of the track. Could you upload an image or a mockup of the layout of this short version?

By the way, if it's in, TGTT would be yet another track with both a short and a long variation.

I cant seem to find a pic or anything for the short circuit but its probably safe to say with it being only 4 corners that they would be Wilson, Bentley, Second to last and Gambon, but i could be wrong without knowing the exact layout maybe someone else would have a better job finding out

^^^Edit: Nice Pic, Tree'd.

Graphics could use some work. Look at all those jaggies

Upgraded Monaco is a nice surprise!
SHIRAKAWA Akira's list now has a total of 20 world locations*, not counting course creator environments or fictional GTLand. I used to wonder if that's what they meant by 20 locations, but it would be good to see some more old GT circuits on top of what we know, they've had time to upgrade a lot more old tracks by now.

*assuming Cape Ring is set somewhere real.

I wouldn't be surprsised if there's a few variations on that course, they'd be easy to make. Some people might not like racing on a track with a level crossing.

Just a wild guess but Cape Ring makes me think of Cape Town in South Africa ( probably been mentioned before though ) and there actually is a racetrack in Cape Town ( Google does wonders ) called Killarney pictured below.

Not sure it resembles Cape Ring in any way or whether it might be loosely based on it, or whether Cape Ring is at all based on a real location ( or located in South Africa at all ).
It's one of the nations/continents though which still aren't represented in GT so far.

That looks like a fast track. What is neat about this picture is the mini track in the middle. That would be prefect for adding karts. Oh well...looks cool though.

Nice find! I had looked for suitable areas around there but never saw that track.

Not sure it's of any help to pinpoint that Cape Ring location though especially when it's a fictional location.
If it's indeed real or based on that track ( don't remember exactly what that Cape Ring track looked like ) it might be a code name or license issue, etc.

Nice find, analog.
However the track itself isn't much of a thrill to me. It looks a lot like Tsukuba (which we know is already in). While I don't mind Tsukuba, I'm not enthusiastic about having its clones.
However, as far as I can remember from the blurry screenshots, the so-called "Cape ring" layout was fairly different.
Another question comes to mind. In fact, from the "Cape ring" screenshots, I recall having seen underscore within the track name (like "cape_ring_south"): I actually wonder if that ellusive "Cape ring" is not a custom made track (by means of the Course maker tool) that had been saved under that name (and in that case, I doubt it would be featured in the game - it's just one example of the use of the Course maker).

Names with underscores in public GT demos were placemarks (string names, in computer terms) for untranslated text or missing logos. In the Gamescom demo La Sarthe for example was "sarthe_2009". The night version in the taiwanese demo was labeled "sarthe_2009_night". Other examples, even for text in menus, have been often spotted in demos in languages other than English.

Nice find Analog, however the track layouts look far too dirrerent for Cape ring to be based on this track (although they do have their similarities), as can be seen below:

Thanks for that detail, I didn't know.

It can't be, it was shown under the tab "original" and not under "my courses".

Honestly, I don't think there is a link between Cape Ring and Cape Town in South Africa.
And as Quintin said, Cape Ring is an Original Track which means it's been made from scratch in a fictionnal location.
Although I'd love to see an african track like Kyalami ;)

I can't help thinking that Cape Ring looks like a somewhat distorted Hungaroring...

I'm new here.
I am quite fond that you guys predict cape_ring_south would be in Cape Town, I find it hard to believe that even I am South African. This name could linked to Cape Town but there are other several places have these names too.
Here is the image of killarney pit lane view.

Now look at the sneak peak of this cape ring south track, most of you would notice a race track image on the left corner bottom picturing pit area.
IMAG0181.jpg

Doesn't both of these buildings look alike if you zoom in in that picture if you could.
If you actualy zoom in, try save the last picture; preview it and use a zoom tools, closer to that picture, you would see some sort of bridge hanging over the track. Although, Killarney doesn't have bridge structure over anywhere on the track.

PS: Now I can see there are yellow circle as the sun next to each maps of the track, could it mean only daylight track?

Just realized that in those pictures, the Cape tracks don't have a logo. Which is probably why they're names look like their built via the track editor. That also means that the build is from an unfinished build. Although, I don't think adding proper names and a logo took all that long.

I don't think it's the case that the Course Maker was used to create Cape Ring, It wouldn't appear that you can subdivide are larger course into smaller ones with the editor.

I was wondering something similar (see page top), I had interesting replies from SHIRAKAWA Akira and Quintin03 on the matter.
