Yep, I noticed that too and looks like we're getting an "Outer loop" variation, joining the outmost sections of both Cape Ring distinct layouts. At least it's a guess judging by that pic above.

Are there still no videos showing this Cape Ring? O_o
Would be pretty interesting to see that track in action, can't imagine how it looks like right now.

Not sure if you noticed, but Cape Ring South is selected. So, the pic and the top-right and to the left should both be Cape Ring.

I think it's nuts how those 2 locations are going to give us 7 layouts/variations between them. The final number of tracks is gonna be so big!

So why is there no Road Atlanta? :( It'd just seem right to have with the Le Mans cars in the game. Even Sebring.
I have a suspicion that Turn 10 has a deal with Road Atlanta and or ALMS.

Or it could just be that Turn 10, being US based, has focused on the best sports car racing series in the US more than European series.

Maybe we should ask someone with great Photoshop skills. He might be able to really improve the quality of this photo.

No matter how good someone is at photoshop, the quality of the photo determines everything. It's just guessing games otherwise.

Significantly increasing picture quality is possible, however it takes some pretty good software and a lot a time to get any decent results.

Again regarding Cape Ring:

What do you people think could be a plausible length for the main straight?
800 meters? 1000 meters? Or less?
We can easily calculate the track length with that.

With a main straight length of 750 meters (a bit too short in my opinion, but let's be conservative), the "convoluted" variation would be 6.6 Km long.
Cape Ring South would be 3.1 Km long and Cape Ring "North" would be 4.47 Km long.

If you're referring to the main straight picture in the track selection screen, you're right in that it doesn't seem short. It looks like Cape Ring will be a rather long track in its full layout!

With an 800 meters straight it would be:

Cape Ring South ... 3.31 Km
Cape Ring North ... 4.77 Km
Cape Ring Full ... 8.21 Km

However, that's assuming that I got right the North section, or that there is a "convoluted" version at all.

No I mean the track 'photo' with the corner on it, It looks like quite a big radius, like Curva Grande at Monza or something, depends on the width of the track of course. I think the nature of it being split into two halves suggests it will be quite a big course when it's the whole circuit.

I'm pretty sure the total circuit version exists, I can make out the whole inside line on that map. Over 8km or more would be good, the top half looks pretty twisty at any speed.

Apologies for the potentially stupid question but where are you guys getting that Cape Ring North track layout from? I remember seeing the Cape Ring (with the straight) in a GT5 screenshot of the track selection screen at the New York event, but where did that other layout come from?

It's a tiny blurred mess on the track selection screenshot, was posted in this thread a page or two back.

Ah, ok now I understand.
Yes, it looks quite a big radius. Maybe we could even estimate it with some track width guesses.

Yes, that would be great indeed. There's a lack of very long original tracks in GT.

I see there is 4 different variations of Cape Ring. Two of them look a lot like Nurburgring, which is probably why it is called "Cape Ring." Can't wait to try out all the new tracks. I'll do it with either the GT5 NASCAR or the Dodge Challenger.

Too bad no one tried these tracks, they all wanted to do the same tracks over and over, lame. If I get the chance to find a demo that has these tracks, I'll for sure play them. I doubt it will happen though. As far as I know, all demos have the same tracks weve seen so much of already. Nurburgring, Rome etc.

I think ring as in NurburRING, Twin RING Montegi, SachsenRING , HungaroRING, NorisRING, the term RING refers to a track. It's where cars duel. The same would apply to Boxing ring- where boxers duel but not in the case of the Ring Cycle (Der Ring des Nibelugen) although the whole thing is about battling for the ring.

If you mean the right down corner it seems like the apricot hill logo or autumn ring, the side of the logo is pretty similar to that bit that you are mentioning.
