For race music, although its impossible we would ever see it, I would love the score from the Transformers Movie (1986). Yes, I know, a violent kids cartoon film with awfully chessy music and everything....but still, I randomly ended up having it on in the background while attempting some endurance races, and its just epic.
Ah well, I'll just put it in myself when in-game custom soundtracks finally appear.

Menu music, I always liked the style that GT1 used, but the current light-jazz thing is fine too. Menu music doesn't really need to be great, just neutral. Unlike some EA games which have quite a bit of rapping and hip-hop, which I have nothing against, but its not really something I want to listen to. Neutral menu music shouldnt annoy anyone really.
I liked all of the GT's selection of music so far, SCEE really knows what makes good, balanced game music. Even the electronica stuff I dont normally like, I find enjoyable (like the Daiki Kasho stuff).

No music during racing,I like to listen to my own car and listen for others coming up from behind ( besides the ocassional mirror glance ). Menu music,I would like to listen to music from my own pc (i-tunes) over 4,000 songs listed, create my own playlist of my own music

Would like to add this song by Keith Urban... Faster Car...

Thanks to Lyrics.com for the Lyrics

Faster Car
(Keith Urban)

Any time that you want what you need
Close your eyes, say my name, call on me
And I’ll be there for you no matter what they say
Rain, hail or shine
I got my eye spy to the sky waitin’ on your sign

Roll the dice, take a chance, a chance on me
‘Cause you never can tell where a little bit of faith might lead
I got a you shaped hole inside I swear it gets deeper by the day
Flickin’ cigarettes out the window goin’ nowhere in this lonely rain

(Chorus)
I need a faster car now
A rocket ship straight to the moon
I need a faster way to
Show you how much I need you baby

It’s a crime, it’s a sin, it’s a damn shame
But you’re the ‘cause and you’re the cure of all my pain
There’s never been a bigger fool for you
I can’t believe my pride
You got me talkin’ to an empty pillow in the middle of the night
I ain’t slept in quite a while

(Chorus)

(Solo)

(Chorus)

(Chorus)
I need a faster car now
I’m a rocket man in love with you
I need a faster way to
Show you how much you drive me crazy
Show you how much I need you baby

Cool. A great dropping the hammer song! :sly:

They should make custom playlist an option. There are so many songs from previous GT games that I would like to be able to play with GT5.

Seriously, this series has got to have the best STs ever.

This song would be damn cool if we had Bathurst on the game.:):)

I love that song already (a re-make of his own "Boys From the Bush") by Lee Kernaghan.

Something from the new Back Ice album by AC/DC would be cool too.:);)

Microsoft has a patent for taking songs that you put on the harddrive, and alowing them to play in the game?

*bump*

It's more likely that there will be custom soundtracks... but, hey, anyway, here's my tracklist.

________

Stockholm Syndrome - Muse
Knights of Cydonia - Muse
Exo-Politics - Muse
City of Delusion - Muse
Map of the Problematique - Muse
Assassin - Muse
156 - Mew
The Howling - Within Temptation
Benzin - Rammstein
Feur Frei! - Rammstein
Mann Gegen Mann - Rammstein
Just Tonight - Jimmy Eat World
Collarbone - Fujiya & Miyagi
Blurry - Puddle of Mudd
Clockworks - Autopilot Off
Apply Some Pressure - Maximo Park
416 - Silent Drive
Deep Purple - Highway Star
Amy MacDonald - This Is The Life
Amy MacDonald - Let's Start a Band
Finch - Ink
Apocalyptica - Life Burns
Thrice - Stare At The Sun
Kazzer - Fueled by Adrenaline

___________

If there are custom soundtracks... this is all what'll be on it! I thought Collarbone would be a nice addition, ala the recent Jaguar XK ads :sly:

Just as long as I can play music off my HDD, I am not bothered as I just turn it off on all games...

Though it would appear this thread is now kinda useless as we could easily get the Firmwire update to make our own custom soundtracks, I think I just found another song I'm gonna add to it;):

Le Castle Vania - Zero Machine

I usually play with the music off, I like to hear the car, helps you focus and drive better since you can hear the revs and tires. I would like it if they would let you use your own music off your ps3 (you can do it in Rockband 2 drum freestyle) but also have an ingame library of all the music from the previous games plus maybe a few new songs.

I would love to hear DRUM n Bass d(-_-)b music in GT5

I love it.. really goes to the good tune of GT world

I say we need more ROCK!

Daiki Kasho's work in GT4 was amazing - I loved every one, particularly the ones performed by Dakota Star. My faves were Soul Surfer, Break Down, & All About You. Good Days, Bad Days, although not performed by Dakota Star, was a brilliant driving tune, too.

all they put in GT is rock, because the japanese think that all Americans like is rock, they don't count all the other type of music there is.
So, expect to only have rock music on GT5.

and by the way, every song ever put on GT sucks

I don't think any of the information in that post is accurate.
1. No, you're wrong. Ever listened to GT2's menu music? No you haven't or you wouldn't have posted.
2. Ever listened to GT4's soundtrack? No you haven't, because you would have heard classical music, awesome jazz in the menus, and several other not rock songs.
3. GT5 Prologue already has several songs on it that aren't rock.
4. That last bit is quite insulting considering I happen to like most of the songs in all of GT's soundtracks. (and also pretty insulting to the artists who wrote great songs - including classical music - that you have dismissed as "sucking" even though you haven't actually listened to them; any of them)
5. You're stereotyping that Japanese are stereotypical. I find that hypocritical.
6. Your Username is ironic.

If you haven't noticed, I'm very defensive about the music that PD puts in the game, especially since it has such a variety. For someone to spew such uninformed nonsense that "it's all the same: crap," gets on my nerves quite a bit.

Yeah, GT1s (PAL) soundtrack with the Chemical Brothers mix from Everything Must Go in the intro and Sweet 16 from Feeder still gives me goosebumps. 8)

I agree to 100% with MINICOOPER120!

Rock isn't the only thing they put in GT. It appears as if you haven't actually taken the time to listen to all the music throughout GT otherwise you wouldn't have come to this rather uninformed post. Also, you've stereotyped the Japanese, which is very imature considering you haven't met every single Japanese person so what in hell gives you the right to say that?

Oh man, those were the songs that made GT1! I absolutely loved them. :dopey:👍

Now, on the case of "TruSake"... I've come across his kind before. I used to be part of an online guitar players' forum - not metal-specific, but for guitarists of every kind - and the elitism and abuse would make you gag. They were mostly metalheads - nothing wrong with that, but this bunch absolutely tore you apart if you mentioned Fall Out Boy, or Paramore. I did - I said I didn't like metal and the abuse came pouring in. Those people thought the world of metal, and think everything else just plain sucked.

Since, to me, there was no discernible metal in GT4, I have come to the conclusion that "TruSake" is one fo these poor, elitist creatures.

I have no problem with metalheads - it's just the ones on that forum I'm dissing 👍

But I like Paramore. Sue me. :sly:

Gotta have some Feeder stuff in again. I think it would be great if you could import your own tracks from a flash drive or something, similar to the Grand Theft Auto system.

I liked the menu music in GT5:P, mix of classical, lounge house and jazz.......awesome.
But during races I'd like more hip hop music, Luda would fit (probably?).

I think it's more than likely we'll see custom soundtracks.

And if we do, I'm putting a better version of Canon in. The Gran Turismo 4 one was good, but it had this awful hip-hop kind of drum beat...
