Doing the GVS 300k in a Caterham right now and I can honestly say the grip from the SH tyres has been altered. There seems to be less traction under braking then the same car displayed before Spec II and the body roll in corners feels, to me, much more like it does in a real car.

The slipstream seems to have been toned down.

I'm going to try my next stint on SS because the lead car has left me behind and I'd like to do a comparison between the hard and soft compounds in Spec II.

It might be due to better support of the G25 and G27 wheel? I hope it is not and a improvement overall. I will test out 1.13 later on and compare to 2.0 when I update.
I did some early testing this morning using a Thrustmaster T500RS, and also had the feeling of having more contact with both car and road. Just couldn't express it as well as Amar can. 👍

Yeah, seems to me that Sport Hard tires has a lot less grip than before, I'm doing some testing at Nurburgring GP/F with a stock McLaren F1 and I'm actually 1,4 seconds off my previous record, the car seems more slippier and less forgiving.

I was impressed by new update. On ring it felt like I could feel elevation better then before because of improved suspension:) More realistic...? Have no idea, but it was defently easyer.

EDIT: Is sound improved ? Or maybe a placebo effect lol

I'm really wondering if there's now a difference in tire wear between hard and soft compounds. Pre-Spec 2 the Racing Softs had more grip than the Racing Hards but had the same wear rate. If they fixed it so that the softer compound wears faster.....well that would be WINNING!!

StigsHero, I felt that the Sports Hard tires were grippier too. That was really one of the first things I noticed of not that many things I noticed, in terms of physics.

How do you want to prove that? As long as every sim out there feels different from the other, you never will be able to say, which "game" is the most realistic ;)

And forget the word realistic and better use "comprehensible"

Come on now lol... Are the changes really that great.... or is this all in your heads?
We have some skeptics!
:dopey:

Big Ron, no one compared GT to anything besides physics. Jesus said it was more realistic, Mr. Defensive.

I am still amazed about the feel you get from the wheel,

This says what we're all thinking, besides the few.

I can confirm that Online is still different to offline.

Its still more oversteery and loose Online. However the difference is much smaller.
1'57.1 Offline vs 1'57.7 Online.

Both with no tyre or fuel usage and I actually ran Online (58.0), then Offline then back online. No way I can easily find another half a second Online. I just cant pick up the power as early.

All that being said it still feels fantastic and it seems to handle the tyre overheating a lot better. Grip to sliding transition is improved.

Still no steering deadzone, so the Formula cars rock my steering wheel ( Formula EX) left and right. Hard to judge the physics with these cars but I think they may have improved.

I didn't expect it to improve this much, wow! I haven't played since the update, but now I'm looking forward to playing tonight even more!

Have driven 3 hours in rain now and not sure if there is anything different in A-spec. Maybe it's a little easier than i remembered but not really sure. Might be that i have just become more used to driving with slippery tires.

I have been doing more laps comparing to my pre spec 2.0 times, yep times are falling, Spec 2 is faster.

I'm hoping this is true, because I had a like/argh relationship with the hard tires before. If I can feel them better, it's awesome sauce.

Well, headache became a real pain, feeling queasy, gonna stay home from work after all. If only this had happened last night, I could have slept in! Gah, my life...

I cant comment on anything but RS.

But there's more grip than pre 2.0. So I would assume laptimes will tumble.

The AI, if they can be judged as physics, have been greatly improved.

I just done 32 laps with them, at one point an old school Supra overtook me on the first corner at GVS while in a drift!

They are more aggressive but also more curious. 32 laps of actual racing, not just driving on my own.

I use a G27 wheel. No, I haven't changed any setup options for it, yet.

I wanted to see if I could notice any changes before adjusting it.

I ran some online NASCAR races and the FGT Seasonal.

I didn't know what to expect...It felt like the car was 'in' the track in both types of vehicles.

My NASCAR car settings still worked just fine, so either I didn't take advantage of any existing glitches or there were no physics changes that affected the way these cars handle - either way, I'm very happy with the update.

I really liked the way the car feels now - can't wait until I have more time to check out more vehicles and tracks.

I think there's more lift-off oversteer in some cars (or maybe in general, I haven't tried many cars yet).
Try driving a Daihatsu Move CX '95, for example.

The new suspension model is excellent. Not only does the suspension feel more dynamic but visual body roll in cars has finally been improved. I took the 07 STI for a spin which would previously corner nearly flat in most turns and it rolls nearly as much as the real thing without deliberately trying to force the suspension to its limit.

Just installed 2.0 and tried the new GT-R race car around Nürburgring 24h (set at 8:00 PM and realistic time progression). Dude, I don't know what to say, except it's AWESOME! The physics feels much more realistic, and it may just be my imagination, but I think the FFB feels quite improved as well.

Way over my expectations. This with DLC (Spa and 14 new race cars, ZOMG!!!) next week is almost too awesome! GT5 is alive again! 👍

I like it. Draft has been fixed. Off the line wheel spin seems easier to achieve has more negative effects it seems. The cars are a bit looser and easier to turn overall, and suspension may no longer be backwards.

There's still more testing that I need to do though.

Just did the same, that GT-R really drives great. Already beat their fastest time set in real life with it at the 24h Nurburgring event by 10 seconds with sport soft tyres. Can definately feel that the physics have changed and I really like it now, much better than before. Also noticed when hitting a kerb you really feel it through the wheel's FFB, I even got the car in the air a bit when I hit one of them. Never had this happen before spec 2. So I don't know if it's just the physics that changed or if they made the kerbs a bit higher, or that it was just random luck I've never had before. :P

Has anyone tried the LFA on the roundabout on Cape Ring? I had a lot of trouble going through it with that car on harder suspension settings. I'll probably test it myself later in the day.

Did some shuffle racing last night, All the way from 300 PP to 500. Cars felt much more alive. You could feel them pitch, roll and squirm in corners. Tires were definitely updated, grip loss now comes much more naturally and dare I say the transition between grip and no grip is buttery smooth?

Definitely quicker lap times too.

Feels the same to me, brakes are still crap without ABS, that was probably the biggest improvement it needed. Perhaps there are small variations that lead to small differences in laptimes but it's nothing that I can feel, not without having a pre 2.0 game to compare with side by side.

FFB feels the same to me too, only difference with the wheel is the ability to map it (which is what I expected anyway).
