Thanks for the great write-up, Blitz ! đź‘Ť

- Saving in Endurance races? To his knowledge he said this was in.

Man, I'm sooo hoping this turns out to be true :)

Thanks Blitz đź‘Ť excellent write up, I'm looking forward to the review once you get the code...I'm sure your postman is going to get used to the sight of you waiting at your front door

Endurance race saves will be a god send for me although I still hope you can switch to B spec Bob in the pits.

Interesting point about "Car sharing and gifting". Even if you didn't want to permanently give or receive a car it would still be good to share someone else's car for an online session.

It's a slight shame that headtracking will only work in the cockpit view although it may not be ideal to use in your lounge with someone else in the room, I imagine it would be a bit distracting for the camera to point into the footwell when my wifes looks down at her book ;)

Also good to hear the B Spec remote feature is specifically geared towards mobile devices and not just PC's...hopefully there'll be an app for that.

Huge kudos for sharing đź‘Ť đź‘Ť

Anyone got a screenshot of the home page with all the dealerships and garage etc?

;)

This is the same screenshot I saw in the presentation.

Im thinking of installing a webcam... :P

I feel there might be additional icons in the final build below "Open lobby" and "Special" (which should be "Special Events", I think).
Won't there be "Driving Challenges" for example?

It's made up stuff. The Red Bull X1 was created with the mindset of "What if racing leagues didn't have regulations?". The Ford Mark IV, Ferrari 330 P4, Jaguar XJ13 at LeMans race is another "What if?" situation.
Ah yes, thanks. Makes you wonder whether there will be more than these two. đź‘Ť

Special = Special events, youre correct on that one. Now I believe that these Special events are in fact the "driving challenges" you speak of. Either that or the What if?... Scenarios will function as the "driving challenges." Car Delivery was the one that raised an eyebrow for me... Very curious as to how that will be used.

Yes, the used car dealership has been added. Great stuff blitz, loving the news after delay. It's getting me pumped again.

Anyways, this to the people complaining about the variations. A variation would in essence count as a new track because for example if you had a touge run (mountain run) if you make a reverse of a downhill run you would get an uphill therefore you will have to adjust your cars setup. Makes sense IMO. Although I know where you're coming from when you say "they would be cheating us" because even if we do a reverse variation of say a kart track like you said we wouldn't see any new scenery. :)

Lol that was me just rambling on, I won't be surprised if you don't understand.

Did they say anything about the signature competition for the Benelux????

Pretty please Sony include us for once

Have I understood it right that the Sebastien Loeb challenge and the GT rally event are the rallying events in the game? Just thinking back to GT4 where you could drive Chamonix, Haiti Maze, the tight tarmac circuits +++.

They are the currently announced rally events in the "Special Events" section of the game but I would expect there to be many other rally events in other sections.

Thanks a lot for your big effort Blitz187.
Unfortunately they said just a little replying to your good questions.
By the way, it's good to we have confirmations on many things.

If I got your right the 3D thing is still under the expectations.

Thanks for the the kind words... that goes for all the rest of the members here who commented! đź‘Ť

The questions I asked were very specific and could be answered with a yes, no or no comment answer. The Rep knew the global scheme of GT5 very well except when I went into specifics he just either didn't know or wouldnt say.

As for 3D it was nice to see. The cockpit looks great in 3D with the steering wheel sort of floating in front of the TV and depth in all of the menus. But it was not at a level yet that made me go, "OOOOHHH WOW!!! I NEED 3D NOW!!" So I'm still going to hold off on that, although the head tracking looked interesting I must say... And I imagine using that in combination with 3D it will add a whole other dimension to GT5.

Very off topic: One of the PS3's had Killzone 3 in 3D on it which a couple us started playing for a bit as well and I have to say that THAT game looks absolutely awesome in 3D. That one DID get my attention, moreso than GT5 in 3D. But that is for another thread and topic! :P

Yep, cockpit view should be used if we really want mimic the reality.
On the other hand the road view is, right now, too limited and too fixed.
This added new dimension is a revolution; possibly not great in GT5 , maybe great in GT6.
PD is really a pioneer , many ideas, as far as I know, are brand new (head tracking cockpit view, remote B-spec races...).

Thanks Blitz, very nice and detailed writeup of your experience! đź‘Ť

(Still ... worried about the "to his knowledge" bit. :odd: )

^^^ Yeah, the "too his knowledge" bit had me worried a little as well, but he did seem confident. The thing here is that I was talking to a distribution manager for Sony Benelux who has GT5 in his portfolio. He is obviously on the lower steps of the ladder corporate-wise. So he gets his info from some where up top and has to do it with that info only. I totally understand his situation and it wouldve been great to talk to someone who was closer to the development, but I asked what I could and he also tried his best, imo, to answer those questions. đź‘Ť

Seems to be a new theme, racing the XJ13 at Le Mans ( which it didn't in real life ) and the X1 ( what would a racing car look or drive like if there were no rules? ) and maybe there are more.

'What if Germany had won the war' ( KĂĽbel and Schwimmwagen ) or a challenge featuring detuned Ruf's called 'what if Porsche was included?' ;)

 Those would be really funny scenarios. Love the Ruf idea. đź‘Ť

Yeah this is great news as it really opens up the endurance events for people like myself, I'm pretty sure I only completed two endurance events in GT4!

Now I can look forward to endurance events instead of glossing over them.
