Nice videos Crowood, I think I've watched em all, lol.
Really liked the viper and the charger sounds, but I want to ask you if you could do a video of the Skyline R34 with different exhaust and the DB9 if possible =D.

Does anyone else think the NASCAR cars sound terrible?? The transmission whine is sooooo loud and unrealistic sounding.
i think so when you're driving them, but watching the replays it sounds pretty dead-on when the cars are flying by

Ow my god, it sounds nothing like a viper lol. It looks like a 4cilinder 2.0.
Damn they know how to fuk up some engine sounds :indiff:

And it sounds nothing like a 2.0 4 cylnder... Surely PD (for some reason) gave it the nascar sound, but why?

Anyone heard the Alfa Romeo 8C ? Best sound evar! It sounds like a real R8 .. the ISF too is a good one.

I'm very disappointed with Lambos and Ferraris .. we were so exciting to hear how they sound like ... Murc SV and Enzo.

No matter what, I still enjoy the game more than FM3 even though it has better sounds .. weird

In case you haven't heard it the Super GT GT-R has some pretty ear shredding transmission whine!
Audio in the game has been all over the place. The Rally cars definitely need a lot of work. Pops, bangs and anti-lag is missing
Some cars have good range, other cars only sound good in the low range

The first one sounds ok only when the car is moving away from the camera. Coming head on it sounds like it's recorded on a $5 microphone and is distorting like crazy. The second one sounds like the first with quickplayers pitch turned right up but with out the head on horribad distortion...

Ow boy, that vipers sounds nothing like a viper in high revs, and I dont think it have the nascars sample, it sounds like ... hum... let me think.... well I have no idea its just awful.

Picked up my copy Saturday afternoon and went straight home to dig in...........almost 2 hours later (lol), I finally got to racing.

Sounds are generally greatly improved over previous GT games. I have a Mazda RX-7 which I fitted with some racing parts that absolutely screams with anger. It is so loud from the rear view that I have to switch to interior view to save my ears (I use headphones). And, there are some other cars I noticed that sound pretty good also. The transmission whine is evident when using the cockpit or hood view. And, the sound from behind the vehicles is mostly exhaust sound as I would expect.

However, the American V8's are not right. Specifically, I bought the '71 Mustang as it is a car my Dad owned when I was a youngster. I remember how his sounded. And, GT's version is lacking. After fitting the car with a semi-titanium exhaust and some other upgrades the car seems to sputter at different revs. At low revs, it sounds great. But, anything over 2.5K rpm sounds like the car isn't getting enough air or too much fuel is being dumped into carburator. It's hard to describe. I've tried different exhausts and different matches of upgrades but it still sounds like it has a cold. I'm not done swapping parts but so far I've yet to find the sound.

While running the first Muscle Car Championship (think it's in the Amateur A-spec class), I noticed the sound of the '65 Mustang 350GT as it passed by. It sounds like some kid put a 6 cylinder motor in and installed one of those bumblebee exhausts that are popular on rice rockets. Simply awful. Very disappointing. Some of the V8's in the race sounded tolerable (the Tempest sounded nice). But overall, the classic V8 sound isn't there.

The NASCAR cars have a very synthetic sound (to my ears). I've been to four NASCAR races in my life: three trips to Talledega and one to Daytona. And, what I heard in person hardly resembles the sound PD assigned to these cars.

In spite of my complaints, I am still fairly pleased with the improvement in overall sound. There is enough improvement in this aspect that I'll play the game for a long long time. It is just disappointing that some sounds did not receive the treatment they deserve. In my opinion, if sounds more closely replicated real life, this game would appeal to a much larger audience and help to sell more PS hardware. Maybe the PS4 will be better suited to supporting the sound we all want so badly to hear in a GT release.

The Nascar sounds disgusted me completely. WTF is with the ridiculous supercharger sound and why is there one period?

It is hilarious that the supercharger is modeled with engine rpm 1 to 1...

These guys are amateurs in the sound department IMO.

I think the best way to sum up GT5's sounds is Balence. On one hand, certain sound elements are nailed and certain cars are fixed while on the other, some things like Transmission whine are either overdone or missplaced and other certain cars are way off and exaust don't help much (or at all in some cases). So overall, I say the quality of the sounds while vastly different in some cases is off balence. Granted I haven't heard all 1,038 (and I doubt many of you have), but thats the observation I'm making from what I've heard at the moment.
