Has someone heard the engine of the IS F Concept Racing Car? I have one fully tuned, and the sound is sick! I don't know if it's equipped with a V8 engine, but wow! Insane sound.

Sorry for bad english :P

So there is a supra sound 💡

And here on Rauwers request:

I also uploaded an Vanquish, but only stock....cause the exhaust sounds are horrible (yeah all three) :ill:

Of the many cars I've driven so far, I'm only familiar with about 5 or 6 of their engine/exhaust notes in real life and most sound good. Good as in not the same sound for all cars like my experience with Prologue but a much closer to real sound (albeit not perfect).
So I was fine with the sounds until today when I bought an '04 BMW M3 and started using it for races. It (an E46 M3) sounds like the new M3 (E90/92), which has a rumbling V8. The E46 has a tinny sounding inline 6 which sounds nowhere near the new M3's V8. I'm praying they at least got the M3-CSL sound right. Someone must have just slapped the same soundtrack on anything with M3 in it.

That's one of those things that put me off so much, the engine sounds.... my god they will never get it right. That Viper sound is the ultimate btw, hairdryer on steroids and an S2000 has a inline 6?

Yea I love the S2000, but when you put a racing exhuast on it the sounds go out the window thats why I keep my sports exhuast. 👍

Edit: Just got a Sports exhuast for my 370Z OMG it sounds amazing! Im really having a good time with GT5.

I've found so far that as with many other quality issues, the sound varies between cars. For example, the Zonda R sounds absolutely incredible whereas the tuned SLS in the AMG special event sounds very sterile. Still have a lot of cars to try yet though so I'll have to wait and see

A lot of the cars with upgrades could do with some reverb. They just sound far too dry.
Also the flanging and phasing you hear sometimes is annoying. That Chromeline XJ13 suffers from it a lot in the replays

The Nisaan GT-R has the same sound as in Prologue. No surprise as it was the most authentic sounding car in the game.

My next purchase will be the 370z, to get back the Time Trial sounds and see how it handles :)

High RPMs aren't good because they don't have enough samples or they weren't able to record the cars reving to redline. Most owners won't allow them to do that :)
But there are some cars that have good range.

Shelby Cobra is one car that doesn't have enough samples so the top end suffers

They should've gone to the guy the other racing game on the other console used to sample the Cobra, it sounds formidable (as all V8's).

It sounds alright in the low revs there, but in the high revs it sounds like a hairdryer.

OMG, I just listened to some more of the videos in this thread.... they're doing the same thing as they did in GT4, a sports exhaust or racing exhaust is just the sound of an other car, like a ZR1 with a V10 sound??? C'mon. All the stock cars sound weak and not like real life. I remember Kaz saying that the car sounds was going to be a very important part of GT5, they probably didn't get to it yet.

 OMG.. Forza3 lf-a sound is amazingly accurate !!!!!
Why doesn't GT5 have a sound as good as forza3 :banghead: Dammit !!!!

It does sound good, but listen to that car from another view it will sound like it is still in interior view. While in GT the sound differs from each view, also that video he put up on the LFA on GT5 has no bass to it sounds completely different than what I hear.

Mmmmh... no is not... the forza sound is acurate inside and out... hear the real LF-A sound and compare.

Mate the basic SOUND of the GT5 LFA is way off, it doesn't sound like it at all, it sounds like a digitally created sample (which it is).

Again I ask, why can't PD get the sounds right? That was the major let down in GT4 and after 13 years they still seem to be unable to give all the cars their actual engine sounds.

I'm sorry man the car sound right on my system.

uhh no it isn't way off at all.. the car actually sounds quite similar except on the upshifts, where forza 3 is quite accurate.

After trying out more race cars, it seems PD is starting to copy Shift by distorting everything :/

The way they had the Nascars before in the demos sounded better than what they did in the final game with the over powering gear whine and barely audible squashed engine sound. Even the SuperGT cars don't sound like this.
The 787B is too distorted. The NSX and GT-R GT500 didn't far too bad with the liberal application of distotion, but the others sound worse for it.

Just a small amount is fine, but PD over did it

I think they do this to hide the fact they re use a lot of engine sounds. Unlike Forza the GT5 engine sounds are not all recorded seperatly from each car, they never did this in the past and they haven't done this with GT5 (why this is is a big mistery to me). What they have is a synthesizer that replicates the amount of cylinders, size of engine etc (with some ibput from people who can hear the real life sounds) so they can emulate a sound that represents the sound of the car, but will never be THE sound of the car when recordeing
