I'm a little bit concerned over the excessive tyre sequel on the demos, hot soft tyres should be all but silent especially race slicks. Everything sounds like a $50 hard as stone K mart tyre so far

Concerned? excessive over/understeer from the nooby drivers invites the mice.

Nice ferrari 458 engine sound.

That does sound very nice, i honestly think PD have nailed the sounds now :)

I still don't see what people are complaining about. The 458 sounds heavenly.

... Sorry guys, but THAT sound, it's still the Prologue F430. Just go to youtube and search for some real 458 sound and them come here again.
Even the F430 sound of Prologue (this in the video used for the 458) it's not accurate at all!!! :yuck:

Knew this argument would appear. They are both ferraris.

Exactly.
People in here are hallucinating. It's called placebo effect.

So??? What do you want to say with that? Does all Ferrari sound the same? All the Pagani sound the same? All the Lambo sound the same? All the Audi? Etc, etc, etc.

It's not Subaru/Mitsu/Honda/Nissan, that have the same engine for different models!

Every model of supercar has his own soul. So, no. They are not the same, and the should be as the are in real life.

And this argument has to appear if we want GT5 to be the best!

I'm just hoping for the final build... really. :nervous:

So. Stop using recicled bad engine samples for a same brand, or just put the GTpsp version of them (Enzo). Or worse, put the sound of a model (R8 - Gallardo LP560) with a different engine (V8 - V10) just changing it a bit! :grumpy:

Exactly.
People in here are hallucinating. No wait, it's more a "placebo effect".

We are very good at hearing what we want to hear, irrespective of the source, for many different reasons.

Anyway, it is the same sound as the F430, which, I feel, further strengthens the idea that it's by no means final. Even that Motul GTR; it seems they got closest with that one, or maybe they just got lucky! :dopey:

I assure you i am not hallucinating, for one thing in previous GT's sound was not my biggest concern and it wasn't in GT5:P, I guess you could say i never payed too much attention to it (until i've come to GTP, now i notice every single flaw) So i've obviously not noticed that the 458 sounds the same as Prologues 430.

(This is just an example. If you really own the prologue you know it's the same sample)

And we all know in reall life, both the F430 and the 458 Italia don't sound at all like what we've heard 1) in the prologue 2) in these builds. The pitch is always too high in GT and there are some mid-high frequencies that should NOT be there

from 0:59 to 1:11

Seriously...which one is closer to real life?

I'm happy I'm not the only one... :sly:
(meno male!)

No way... take a check to your ears :sly:

Yea looking at that vid, your right the Ferrari vid doesn't sound similar, and even forza 3 don't sound good (not even close to real).

so hardvibes find a game with a better sound...

Are you kidding me?
The 458 is FM3 sounds significantly better than the one in GT5

Sorry, but fm3's sound is closer to real life than gt5's is.
I repeat, GT has some high and mid frequencies that don't exist. And the pitch is too high. The sample is totally wrong, no matter what camera you're using.

Guys, I will not come to this thread anymore untill the game is in my PS3 and I can hear all the sounds. So, hoping in a BIG (and I mean, reaaaaaaaaaally big) improvement like Kaz said, I will report my impressions then.

Ciao!

Yes, they naid the sound especially with the Merc and the Lambo 👍

Assuming you ment 'nailed the sound' it seems astonishing anyone would think that Lambo sounded good let alone right

They would be better of sticking the M5 sound into the Gallardo, even as a place holder,
Also the R8 certainly does not sound like it has a lurvly V8, far from it.

I continue to hope that these cars sounds are mostly placeholders, given Kaz said sounds will be improved in the final game, of course as things stand he's tecnically telling the truth as at least 1 or 2 cars have improved sounds,
Given Kaz's and PD's often cryptic and open ended statements about the game I guess its not out of the relms of possibilty....

But heres hoping.....

I'm curious about something... KY himself said that the new sound engine would not appear until the final build of the game. That means that NONE of the videos we've seen have the new sounds.

So why do people keep talking about how it sounds "better" than it did before?

It's not just the placebo effect... it's one thing to hear what you want to hear, but it's another thing to hear something that you have to know isn't there at all. The new sounds will not appear in any demo prior to launch. At all. Ever. Get over it. We won't hear the new stuff until November 2nd, and that will be on our own individual sound systems at home when we pop it in for the first time.

I thought he said the sound was redone ... but I don't remember reading that we would only be able to listen to that in the final build.

He said the sound was being redone, not that it had already been redone. And yes, he did say that it would appear in the final build. It was part of TGS, search through the thread, you'll find it.

How can you be so sure sounds will be completely different from those we hear now? We have no guarantee.
The guy from gameblog.fr (or multiplayer.it, can't remember, either way I perfectly know what he said since I speak both italian and french) said that the sounds will be improved for the final version of GT5. He didn't say redone, he didn't say we won't hear anything prior to the release either.

And by the way do you remember this?

This is a the proof of an improved Motul GT-R sound. Not redone.

p.s. I'm just commenting what other people post. I never said F430 nd 458 Italia will be exactly the same in the final version.
