Unreal !!! The weather effects and night racing is incredible. And to think there is still a LOT more to come when the game comes out, lots more cars/tracks to come. I think I'm even more excited than I was when GT1 came out.

Paint shop done right! real color and not just picking from a generic color pallet. Wonder if there will be any animation to it like the car wash.

As for the SLS car wash pick, anyone notice there is no soap on the windows? I mean the roof and pillars have it but not the windows, weird.

My meter is busted...I hope to god you're joking. It's clearly the car wash option.

Take a look at this image:
[IG]http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/jsmenuspecialevents.jpg[/IMG]

Notice it goes 01, 02, 04, 05, 06, 07...what could 03 possibly be???

That SLS AMG has a pretty big spoiler on it.

Why on that screenshot is there seperate options to 'choose paint colour', and then 'start painting'?

If I were an optimist, I'd be thinking about the possibility of painting my car with the new move controller!! :D

I'm curious too, as to whether we pick numerous paints and can paint by hand, or if the car's just dipped in the colour of our choice.

McLaren Orange should not be an option on anything bar McLarens!

I agree right there!, as much as i love Mercedes i could never let one be painted in a McLaren signature colour!

A tidy level of customization = I'm now very excited for this game for the first time in five years.

Can't believe these haven't been posted yet...

It's beautiful.

Heh, rain in the Alps. I went in June '98 and it rained with a little thunder and lightning whilst our school party was stood next to a flag pole. Most of us ran back on the coach pretty quickly!

It ruins the illusion of their grandeur somewhat, especially as I'm from England. lol.

So according to these pictures, Eiger Norwand is not an endurance track, so I think that premium tracks (the ones made specifically for GT5) will have day-night transitions and weather and standard tracks (carried over from older GT games) won't.

I might be being dumb and this is the other side of the range, but the Nordwand isn't visible in that range from what I can see.

Ok, so, I know this isn't really related but I figured I'd ask here real quick rather than making a whole thread about it

Is the "Collector's Edition" on Amazon the same as the "Collector's Edition" at Gamestop?

I know this is probably a dumb question but I just want to be sure

As far as i know the only difference will be the stealth car you get with the pre-order.

That was exactely my thought, makes sense I think.

Mehh, forgto to edit, sorry.

Why? There is a good reason to post them like that=comparison, so, chill.
Uh? Comparison? Why re-show big pictures that are just above you, on the same page? You know not everyone has super mega high speed internet...
A set of pics is enough.

there has always been two eiger nordwand tracks, there was footage of "eiger-long" during the development of Gran Turismo HD. the "eiger-short" is the layout used for Gran Turismo HD-Concept, and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. hopefully we will now be able to race the full track. and by the looks of it we will :D

I think this is too much for me to handle! I keep getting giddier! Please November 2nd just get here!

May be it will be but i still say these shots show the short version, looking back from the run up to last corner across the valley to the start/finish with the jump down to the first U bend right obscured by the trees.

I will gladly accept being proven wrong.:)

I think this means that only premium tracks have dynamic weather and time of day effects - but that all courses will feature static, random time of day and weather conditions for normal races that will be generated on-the-fly, so each race will offer something new and it will not change over the duration of the race [3-5 lap races, for example, could start at night in the rain and stay that way until the race ends - but the next race could be sunny and slightly snowing].

They just won't be dynamic and change over the course of the race - which is fine by me if most of the tracks have static, randomly assigned weather and time of day effects. It keeps the game lively and unpredictable.

I hope this just isn't the start of another premium - standard debate, like cockpits,.

Whoa. SrRd is going crazy with the thread title. :)

Keep up the good work. The first post looks great, SrRd. 👍

I think... Now is the best time to fix my PS3. Well, as long as it's before November.

Those weather pics are of the Eiger we all know and love. "Eiger long" (Grindelwald?!) will remain elusive for now.

The footage of GT:HD, before it was released as a demo, had a different version of this same Eiger circuit. It was changed for the demo release.
