Lotus_Esprit_S350_Interior.jpg

Indeed, Lotus Esprit. :)

What track is that at 1:37-1:40, i know ive seen that turn before and its really bugging me.
La Sarthe, old '60 layout maybe (??)
On a side note would be nice to get most of these videos translated even though they will probably be saying information we already know.
I didn't translate the rest because it's the same old same old

Yeah after having a second look at it brain screamed at me la Sarthe, didn't see your post but thanks and yeah I kinda figured about the information. Appreciated

I'm not sure if they say the facebook-like profile will be just in the game or also on the internet. It would be so cool

Maybe the lap is virtual, but they say the X1 exists
megaomg.gif

The way I'm looking at it is that the body exists (testing purposes, etc), the wheels probably exists, tires exist, the engine exists (again, testing, or at least it is mechanically possible), therefore the car exists, but not to the extent that we all think of a car existing.

one remark about the "beginning" of this video https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=130239&page=142
the last four cars (ford gt, corvette, viper and sls) have obviously a different level of lights then the leading four cars... can you see it?
possibility 1) they got "stand lights" and the others "dimmed beames"
possibility 2) they got "dimmed head lights" and the others "full beam"

p.s.: in the end the viper for example got the brighter lights too...so is it switchable during race?... wow...

Bummer, but that GT by Citroen race car is definitely not packing a v8. It sounds like an electric car.

It does sound different but i doubt its electric, in the reply it had 7 gears and what seemed like a straight cut gearbox with the gear change animation that I saw. I thought "pure" electric cars ran only on a reverse and 1 gear.

Watching the video right now (time to put my translating hat one) will let you guys know about anything new :P

Hey I thought the X1 was only virtual, they say it exists and Vettel tested it and got a new best lap on Suzuka (20 seconds faster than anything else )
P.S. Didn't PD design it?

It was mentioned in another article, he tested it in the game.

They are used to more arcadey racers with better but more unrealistic brakes.

Dude didn't even slow down. I mean there's obviously a corner but rubbing his eye and flooring it into the car in front of him is a much better idea than slowing down and turning lol.

That Citreon looks like it would kill you and your family and your dog if you so much as shift gears a 100th of a sec:scared:ond late.

That reminds me of an article in Top Gear Magazine (UK Aug 2010) in which Lewis Hamilton is given the chance to drive Ayrton Senna's F1 car (80's). He said "I still have to get used to the gearshift – I went from second to fifth once."

That car would probably rip my head off and I wouldn't mind at all seeing it as a classic car in a GT game.

Having the MP4/4, aka F688/S, aka Polyphony002 would be awesome, even if it wasn't with the Marlboro livery.

He doesn't brake at all.

Like most people for some reason.
At first I was thinking "oh maybe he's testing out the damage system"... then after turn 2, I was :odd:  ... ehhh. Oh well.

A couple reasons come to mind...
~ maybe its simply because they don't know the track? or
~ does ASM have auto-braking? They probably think all the assists are on... meaning, flat-out.

I noticed that, too. I think Kaz said that the headlights will be "switchable" from low to high "beams" (as it was translated); whether that means manually (by hand) switchable, remains to be seen...

Also, my initial though on this behaviour was that it is a level of detail optimisation, limiting the number of the projected lights for performance reasons - notice how it's only the three cars around the player that have the "full" illumination going on.

Or, they just don't know what they're doing, which seems the most obvious answer. Most of the videos where this happens, it's like the person doesn't know GT at all, and the concept of slowing down for a corner is simply alien to them. Never mind the big red streak on the road, they obviously have no idea what it means. You can see it in some of the vids that have a clearer shot of the screen, where you can see how much gas and brake they're giving it. Or rather, how much gas they're giving it (100% at all times).. they don't use the brakes.

I'm waiting for someone to say something, and the driver will respond with "no, no.. this way is faster".

the last vid kinda looked like there is a litle delay with the steering? looks like the guy is steering like half a second earlier than the car is moving

Lexus IS F Concept at Tokyo. Interesting collision with the S2000 at the beginning.

Thanks for this vid. The game looks gorgeus as always... i also found it interesting how he decided to play in third person with the steering wheel. I prefer third person but if i did have the money for the wheel i would play in first person.

I didn't know about that car...F688/S in my NTSC of GT3. My GT days took a huge dive when my PS2 pooped out on me, which was actually one of the reasons I haven't/won't pick(ed) up an Xbox 360 (not brand loyalty); I hate hardware failure .

Excellent video, after the collision it almost looks like his steering is all messed up, I can't tell for sure. It might be misaligned a bit and he has to turn the wheel to go straight, and the car just doesn't seem to want to turn at all when he does get to a corner.
