alex p, i was waiting for SOMEONE to say that. don't get me wrong i am really glad that weather is in this game, and i'm really looking forward to spinning out many times in the rain, but as of right now.. the rain effects aren't looking very nice (very low rez). i do think it is pretty cool that the rain moves according to what the car is doing though.

EDIT: First: No game looks like this. Second: It looks still great in GT5. Third: Don't forget all the other details on the screen.

Thank you, these pics show exactely what I mean, these raindrops look 3-dimensional and they actually look like they are out of water, just like in Colin 3. to make it clear, I like the rain effects in Gt5 better than in any other game, in movement it just looks so damn realistic, but they didn't nail the "watery" characteristic of the drops, if you get what I mean, well probabely not. lol

Well trying to mimic real life to the fullest is impossible but at lest it looks good to a point but lest wait for the full game.

nice pictures, but remember that the camera is focusing on the window, and your eyes don't/shouldn't so its a bit different

Yeah but the cockpit is in focus in cockpit view as well.
But really man, I dont want to be all in war with you but we have a lot people complain way too much. The water looks super good. Its for sure not low pixel, but for sure not photo realistic, but for a game its freaking awesome looking water. We have water splashes from different cars, wind affecting the droplets to move, etc etc. so no reason to complain about something brand new to the GT series and say its bad looking. Sure GT6 will even have better looking water if it lands on the PS4.

By the way, Kaz mentioned around E3 that cars will have more realistic dirt effects on them, it would be cool to see some pictures of that now

Bumper cam does look pretty dark. I'm just guessing here, but another thing to consider is that its camera-on-TV footage. Some of the darker details won't be captured by the camera, but can be seen with the naked eye. So to us (watching on Youtube), its darkness, but to the player, he'll still be able to see some of the track in the distance...

From the vids I've seen on GT5 the water effects on the windshield are outstanding. I'm going to be hard pressed not to prioritise driving premium cars when it rains or snows.
I wonder if the water moves up faster as you drive faster and actually drips down if you are just parked.

(How ironic a German is saying that oh well haha) And now I say it for the last time, I love the rain effects in GT5, their movement is superrealsitc, and they do look good "in the whole picture", but they just do not look "watery" enough.I did not even want to complain, but to share my observation, damned.
That is what I was wondering too. Maybe the drops will look more "watery", when the car stops and the drops are dripping slowly down.

i know we are on a change the subject, but ill run with it. i guess when you gift car all the gubbins you have slapped on it before will be transferred too. Its the logical way for it to go.
all around a descent thing really, although parts gift is a bit more than needed

Anyone else notice that there appears to be a longer version of Eiger? If you watch the track map as the car enters the tunnel you can see a variation of Eiger running off the usual GT5P track just before the hairpins start and rejoining just before the bridge at the bottom of the hill. Or am I discussing old news?
