Excellent video, after the collision it almost looks like his steering is all messed up, I can't tell for sure. It might be misaligned a bit and he has to turn the wheel to go straight, and the car just doesn't seem to want to turn at all when he does get to a corner.

I think that's because of understeer. I can't tell for sure of course but it would be likely with the way he handles the car.

no, overseer is the result, not the cause. The cause is constant accelerator depression

that accelerator is suicidal

What? The reason why the car slides into the barrier, is because of understeer which you could call a result of bad handling. Doesn't oversteer normally happen when the car actually manages to turn?

Yeah it's understeering.

depends how much it turns

new video?

:ill: Japan started pretty well for driving videos, but they have totally lost it today. the racing line pretty much turns the accelerator and brake into guitar hero, getting it this wrong shouldn't be possible

Hm, altough nobody wants to hear it, I'm still bringing that up. I think the raindrops themselfes look actually rather bad on th windshield. How they interact with light and espacially the physics is great, but they do not look transparent, watery enough. They look very low-rez and pixelated here.

In Colin Mc Rae Rally 3 on the ps2 the raindrop-thing looked better. My opinion, but I really think it's obvious.

Edit:
new video?

Yes, that is new and just look at the end of the video at 1:45 the car almost flips, woooooow!

I didn't know about that car...F688/S in my NTSC of GT3. My GT days took a huge dive when my PS2 pooped out on me, which was actually one of the reasons I haven't/won't pick(ed) up an Xbox 360 (not brand loyalty); I hate hardware failure .

Too bad about your PS2 failure, but yeah--the McLaren / Honda MP4/4 is a magnificent car. It would be a welcome surprise to see it return in November.

👍

Maybe because the car in front of it spalshes mud and water on the windshield?

Cars not only kick up water onto your windshield but it appears that dirt also kicks up onto it.

No, the raindrops are very low-rez, that is what they definately are in this build, I saw the trailer and the gameplay videos, it sure could change for the final version.

I think you should play CMR 3 again, the effect looks not even close to that, not to mention that the rain drops in GT5 are influenced by the wind direction and car movement.

Of course but oversteer would never happen if the wheels do not respond because of speed.

Im not arguing that it isn't oversteer, im arguing that NO action was taken apart from the turning of the wheel in attempting to take the corner. his foot was planted and the only reason he slowed down at all is he it another car on his way to the wall.

I expected such an answer from you, espacially from you. And I think you should play it again, I just watched a video on youtube with crappy quality, and it looks better. I say again: The movement of the raindrops here (GT5) looks better, I said that alreday in my first post, and there are more of them than in Colin 3 but they just do not look transparent or watery, as they do in Colin, there even greases are formed from the raindrops when the wipers work.

You got to be kidding me.. Low res.. you compare a picture taken form a gameplay video 👎

have to be smarter then that! :dunce:

The rain looks like that because the car in front picks up the street water into the windshield.

Yeah rain drops could be better but i wont judge until we get the actual game. I think this demo is like the games com one that was old code mix whit new one.

LOL so obvious to get such replys here, oh well.

I think that you have to make an urgent check-up for you're eye's!!please stop it with this stupid and stupid lament!:banghead:

I just watched it again... at turn 1 he doesn't even bother braking, he just lifts and turns the wheel (slightly too). It was only at turn 2 when he decided to use the brake pedal. Oh well, he isn't the first bad GT driver and certainly won't be the last. :boggled:

it looks beautiful and i have never seen anything like that before... buuuut its time to start asking questions like, are there different intensities of rain? can we have light ran, turning to heavy rain turning to clear sky with a wee rainbow?

didn't watch to the second corner, did a sad face and stopped the vid. i could literally drive the track blindfolded and make the corner better than that.. even if only slightly :dopey:

I agree.

Also, I didn't intend to argue a point against you. It was a follow up to my question about oversteer usually happening when a car manages to turn. Then you said that it depends how much it turns. So in order to explain our fellow understanding I pointed out that it wouldn't oversteer if it didn't turn anyway.

Because its obvious we have trolls here who dont know what they are talking about and from one pic they already know its low pixel water..

Yeah trolls, who have all the GT games, all licences gold, provided exclusive gameplay content from gamescom 09 and 10 and who by the way are waiting for GT5 since GT4.
Way to go budy.👍

Is it only me, that driving in absolutely dark with the bumper view is harder, than with the cockpit view by lightening the track with the headlights?

Are the stands at TGS all broken? Near all guys don't use breaks:guilty:

I bet you could say this video looks low pixel water as well.

You have no clue at all to call that LOW PIXEL water in GT5 TGS demo... if you really watched the videos, all the water looks realistically.
