New videos of the GtbyCitroen race car on Eiger in rain

http://www.gamersyde.com/news_tgs_a_bit_more_gt5-9992_en.html

Both gameplay and replay videos. The cockpit of this car really captures how terrifying it could be to race in heavy rain. That's why the gameplay video is a must see for everyone.

Is that bonnet / hood cam at 2:36 in the second (replay) vid? It's different to the roof cam in the race beforehand (first vid), where you could see the wiper(s), but there you cannot.

He mentioned "sonoro" at around 2:18. Shame I don't really know any Italian, but it's not the noun, is it? Is he just repeating what Kaz said about working to improve them?

GT5 will still have rolling starts, infact the Indy speedway track at TGS still has the rolling start.

One nice detail I haven't seen discussed widely yet is that they've improved the rolling starts from GT5P: Now all cars start accelerating at the same time once the first one has crossed the start line, instead of each one waiting to cross the line itself. I learned this the hard way when racing on the Top Gear track at Gamescom, as I didn't realize I'd already be in control of the car in Gambon and botched the race right at the start...

Indeed, and for Indy we have seen side by side rolling starts too.

he saying that the work on sound can be appreciated in the final version

I've received word from a user that the following cars were seen in the Red Bull Trailer:

Lexus SC430 ENEOS GT500 '08
Nissan GT-R WoodOne Advan Clarion GT500 '08
Subaru Cusco Impreza GT300

Has anybody else spotted them or have we been just too lazy?

I believe they're there, but I am looking for others to confirm.

Sorry for bad quality.

In this video Gameblog says the framerate may drop to 40fps in those extreme conditions (16 cars+dynamic weather in cockpit view+night etc..)
40 is better than 30 👍

Hey I thought the X1 was only virtual, they say it exists and Vettel tested it and got a new best lap on Suzuka (20 seconds faster than anything else )
P.S. Didn't PD design it?

Yep, PD design with Newey as advisor and that was a virtual test drive.

40 is better than 30 👍

It should not be to bad as long as the drop is not instantaneous(which should not happen since the environmental effects and the increase in the number of cars on screen does not happen instantaneously).

What interior is this?

That's got to be something, probably a prototype, from the late 80's or early 90's.

I say this b/c of the speaker on the dash - looks like a 3.5" or 4". Cars haven't used those in at least 15 years...none that I can think of anyway.

What makes me think it is a prototype is that it is obviously an Alpine speaker and is positioned/installed weirdly. Aftermarket speakers that size just bolted wherever on the dash lead me to believe it's a prototype from the era of big hair, tight & bright clothes, & glam rock.

It might be that Isuzu thing -or- a Honda of some sort. Hondas of that era, the premium ones anyway, used Alpine stuff for their audio.

I agree with the speaker, it is out of place. It's not the Isuzu 4200R, I am thinking something early 90's and most likely Euro going by the door mirror design.

Steering wheel on the right side. It might be japanese car.

It might be a Lotus Esprit ( late model ) judging by the A-pillar and speakers ( and the design of the dash ).

Slightly different version ( steering wheel, dials, etc. )

Thats it 👍

The V8 version we have seen in other gameshow demos but I don't think it was driveable until now.

In this video Gameblog....

What track is that at 1:37-1:40, i know ive seen that turn before and its really bugging me. Its Circuit de la Sarthe ah my brain really has melted.

On a side note would be nice to get most of these videos translated even though they will probably be saying information we already know.
