Obviously it won't be long enough and from what I am understanding you won't be able to design the turns exactly, but using the tree-lined theme and adding as many turns as possible with a fair degree of slope and very awkward camber angles you could create something that feels similar. This is something I simply cannot wait for. I will do my best to make a rendition of the Dragon. Whether I fail or succeed is up to the software...![]()
I can't wait for some point to point races!
Edit: Especially against good online players.![]()
Thats actually alot longer than I expected. What I think is really cool is choosing a specific time (5:30pm, 7:00am, etc.).
Seriously though, look at the photograph of the themes you can choose from, notice how the scroll bar is down 50%. Should that mean we have another 4 themes to choose, making it 8 ??? This is awesome!!!!!

Yes! Us drifters have our drifting heaven finally!]
Aww man..just imagining creating our very own mountain stages with 10km of hairpin turns makes go nuts. It's going to be hard to wait until November 2nd.![]()
Especially when nobody knows the course![]()
Its a let down that the game generates the track randomly from parameters you set rather than allowing you to plan the course exactly as you want and even recreate real tracks accurately. However I'm so happy that we finally can race point to point although it would have been nice to have a coastal road theme for that.
I don't agree with KY that its hard to program and implement, its like building a slot car track... you have pieces and you lay them out how you like and many types of game have a similar system. I guess I would have much prefered liveries over this mode which in a way turned out not like it was hoped to be.
Robin.
From the little red line through those boxes I have to wonder if you don't get to choose so much as it tells you what time the track is built for... I am thinking maybe each track has 4 times (dawn, midday, dusk, night).

This makes me think that also... perhaps those first 3 screens you see are all Toscana at different times of day and the remaining options will be the other locations, also at different times of day?
I guess this would be a good time to put our resources together and gather data on particular tracks we want to start developing. We have a few more months to get it ready for a track editor. Any suggestions on what tracks we can get some data on? 💡
This isn't a full scale track editor...
But we got the next best thing!
Not to be a complete party pooper, but we don't know yet if these tracks can be shared and stored on each player's individual HDD and thus enable WRS time trials. As far as I know we have only heard that the created tracks can be raced from your lobby with your mates. But being the optimist I am, I guess in the end we will be able to really share our created tracks.pics
HOW TO "CREATE" a track in 10 steps!:
Course Maker:
...
10) Generate it, Race it and Share it! (Suddenly i feel GTP WRS much more
exciting and fun! GT games a la LBP! OH the combinations!! is infinite!)
.....
So will the elevations be random or are we able to dictate if we just want a level track and just determine the banking or camber of the corners? 'cuz if that is possible then we would be able to simulate a lot of oval tracks and some simple road courses.
I did notice them and was wondering whether there is a way to shift that terrain before you have the track created.Glad someone else notice the terrain lines as well
👍
Bet you 1 to 500 they will!..Not to be a complete party pooper, but we don't know yet if these tracks can be shared and stored on each player's individual HDD and thus enable WRS time trials.
