I don't know but if they are randomly generated (as we know), it makes sense.

Yes. It was officially stated that you will be able to play your own tracks online with your friends

I wonder if there will be one custom track thats 'most popular' that everyone plays on...

If so, who will be the one that makes it. I can't wait for a guy named FunnyLumpkins to be the creator of the most played track. lol

Did you mean FunnyPumpkins?
In that case it would be Halloween track, very narrow, many corners and rain. Time will be set at 24:00..
Can't wait to play it!

I'm looking forward to this feature. I hope it proves a good add on, and not like 1/4 drag racing with a Vegas theme, remember that nonsense?

Love to create a brands hatch, but thinking about it the amount of people that will get this game surely someone would generate a track similar to a real life brands?

If there's a way to coax the Track Maker into creating a Brands Hatch, Batthurst, Spa, Hockenheim, Pike's Peak Hillclimb or whatever, you have to know there will be hundreds of examples of each. I'll be on here and in the Track Maker threads looking for the highest rated courses to download, and hopefully making a few of my own.

The only problem I see with tracks being available as DLC (besides the fact that Kaz said GT will ship as a complete game) is that there wouldn't be any way to incorporate them into the events that already exist in GT mode, meaning you could only really use them for time trials / arcade mode.

I don't know if you can assume that they don't have the ability to put the tracks into the code like that. Granted it would be a lot of work probably, but then again Poly is known for taking its time.

The theme on the top right looks like a generic track theme

And it appears you can select up to 10 turns per sector, or maybe just frequency of turns out of 10
Then the tightness of the turns, but it doesn't show what the middle slider is for

Okay, two points/questions I'd like to pose.

Does the course maker have a limit as to how many different courses you can create? For example, if I want a course with 5 sectors, are there only X amount of layouts the computer will generate before it starts repeating itself within my 5 sector course?

And secondly, why shouldn't PD (although they may already have) through in templates for real world courses. All PD would have to do is have track layouts from real tracks (elev. changes, banking, etc. already programed in) while it recreates the road of the course in whichever environment we choose.

There is probably infinite combinations, it's randormly procedurely generated within the parameters you set for number of sectors and values within each sector

OK, I've collected up to 8 diferent Themes we've seen so far in various promo-screenshots.

Notice I'm not positive are the 7th and 8th (last row) old preview images of 1st and 3rd theme.

Anyone who can find additional screens of Themes is more than welcome.

Looking at the images, I think that maybe #5 would be a generic race track environment, rather than a Nurburgring Nordschleife environment. #3 Looks a bit like Circuit de la Sarthe, #6 looks like a kind of Isle Of Man style, road racing environment.

Ok, so in the order that is used in Amar's post.
1. High Fens Dirt(?)
2. Toscana Dirt
3. Eifel Paved(?)
4. Toscana Paved
5. Eifel Circuit
6. California(?)

Also, I agree that 7 and 8 are repeats of 1 and 3. So, I'm pretty sure that "German Springtime" is really Eifel.

Not really because the "German Springtime" theme has a country road, WRC esque feeling, where as the Eiffel is clearly a circuit theme with race grade tarmac. 2 themes.

The potential for road-style photomode shots are going to be huge with this feature. The one with the tree-lined roads and the one with the turbines especially.

I haven't browsed the whole thread so I'm not sure if this question came up before.

So does anyone think we'll be able to just make a simple straight road? I'd like to do some testing on it (and most likely a lot of people) with the Bugatti and other fast cars, especially the X1.

I remember them saying you can make the number of corner or something to that effect. maybe you can put a point to point with zero corners and have a long straight road....would be awesome for photo mode i think 👍

I havnt read the whole thread,The video for track editing raises questions...I hope im wrong..but it looked like a random generater, then we decide steepness etc.but..im hoping we can make straight roads.maybe 5km straights :D .drag race 1/4 mile roads,in the rain,day.night. Wow! ! !that would be cool

I didn't see the previous Amar post so I made this 4 screenshot comparison.
In any event if different pictures actually means different environments (some pictures are similar i.e. 6 and 7) we already have 9 of them.
That could explain the scrollbar position of the taxigamer screenshot . It makes me think of 10.

Sorry for double post
Guys I don't know if you already talked about this.
This is the first screenshot of a course maker section tab.
3 sliders are provided. If someone is able to read the 2 labels (the third is covered) It would be great.
I would expect number of turns, banking and road width.

I'm starting to think that the WRC section of this game could be huge. With 9 or 10 different environments and an infinite number of random point to point stages.... wow

I think the first would indicate the amount of turns as we can see 6 turns on the map in the indicated section. This would mean the section updates a bit late but that's no trouble.

The biggest boon for me is that the terrain height is random, and we've been told before that we can tweak the terrain in some way (I think "degree of terrain" was the translation) so it's looking promisingly flexible.

All we need now is to be able to shuffle those blue points about 👍
