Audi R8 5.2 V10 FSI Quattro

I think I might call it quits on the R8. I honestly don't know the first thing to tuning so this is as far as I'd ever get until I start learning how to tuning.

Yeah, its based on a production RX-7.

So does that mean the JGTC cars are allowed as technically they are based on production cars?
I don't think they should as I remember Tsuchiya being allowed to drive his ARTA NSX around Tsukuba but it didn't count as the Lap Record as its a race car.
Tuner cars I don't see as a problem but the Race cars (JGTC/DTM etc) shouldn't be allowed in my eyes.

By the way, if anyone here wants to do an Online Time Attack type thing (just a free run on Tsukuba) Add me on PSN I'm always in a Tsukuba freerun (normally my own lobby named "GTP Time Attack")

Can I have a 52 on the board please =)

2 replays, one for a low .9 and one for a high .9
I didn't know the difference between saving a replay and a ghost, so I did both.
The regular replay only has 1 lap in it, so it's not large.

Car is a GTR Spec v '09

All aids off, ABS = 1

JGTC or DTM cars are not based on a production car, they are carbon monocoque chassis and only have to retain the roof from the original, like you said they dont count.

Ill update soon.

forgot to post exact time - 52.908

Ok guys, update on the rules:

The times are getting very fast now, some excellent laps. From now on, you beat the fastest time in any of the categories you must upload the replay. You can do this by exporting the replay data then attaching it to your post.

Is there anyway to take the replay file and convert it to a video file? Or is the only way to get a video by recording the tv screen?

Take filphil89's replay. Un-zip it and shove it on a USB (the format of the replay should always be PS3- SaveData - then the number of it, so if you get one with just the number, you'll need to put it in a SaveDate Folder, then a PS3 folder). Put USB in the PS3. Find the USB stick on your PS3 and find the replay save and copy it to the directory where your replays are in GT5 in the Saved Data part of the PS3.

Raptor - No way of converting the replay data. There was a youtube converter in-game but it was disabled due to compatibility issues. You'd need a capture card or video it by hand.

Balang - When you unzip my file it leaves you with the PS3 folder. Just put that entire folder in to your usb drive. When you connect the drive to your ps3 go to SAVED DATA UTILITIES and look for your USB drive and copy the data to your ps3.

When you go to the replay theater there's a way to upload a file transfered to you in the same manner similar to how you exported, but this time you're importing. The exact process escapes me right now

Thanks guys, didnt know about the PS3 folder part.

I've been testing out the 458 Italia and can't seem to get a good time with it, can't get the power down. You can't adjust the downforce can you like in GT4?

Only if you can fit the "aero parts" to it, then its in the settings menu under Body? or chassie...

Yeah, like SF says, it's in the chassis setting or the first setting and it's listed as aerodynamics. There are few cars where you can adjust front downforce. The R8 was one and the race modded cars.

Did you see my replay, Balang?

Balang - There has to be a rule clarification for "production" cars. Race modded cars technically do count as they're stripped shells. There's no way for someone not to know which cars can or can't compete because there is no true definition to production cars. JGTC's cars have a base production car so they're technically allowed to be used. I thought the clarification were to cut off cars that were made specifically for RACE purposes like the GT-ONE or 787B race cars which do not have a production model run. Just like the supra has a JGTC model, the JGTC model should be allowed to participate because it is based off of a production model. That's how I interpreted the ruling you've posted.

i vote for no superGT cars as they are retarded on street tires.

and okay fine how about this we make it really easy...

IF IT DIDNT ROLL OFF THE PRODUCTION LINE, THEN IT DOESNT QUALIFY??

meaning superGT cars and le mans cars and such are not allowed =)

there done.

Balang wants this Time Attack to be like the actual Time Attack & like I've said in a previous comment, Tsuchiya was allowed to take his ARTA NSX (JGTC) around Tsukuba & smashed the record BUT it was not allowed to be the record as it is a race car.
To keep it simple NO race cars should be allowed. No race cars are allowed in the real life Time Attack only Tuner cars so in keeping it like the real life Time Attack it should be the same.

the GT one was based on a road car :)

I forgot about your post with Tsuchiya and I do agree with the sentiments posted previously. For some reason though there has been a little interest as to which cars are allowed to compete because it can be difficult in to seperate race cars from others.

The only part I'm confused about is the Racing Modification.
That would technically make it like a Tuner car as all it does is change the livery & apply some of the weight/suspension changes etc.

Let's think of it like this then. Since the car, originally, came from a production run it counts as a production vehicle, albeit, a highly modified model.

@ filphil89, i'm turning on my PS3 now to watch them.

Yes, there does need to be a clarification of the rules. This problem has happened in the real life aswell as people started using 911 GT3 RSRs in Time Attack events when they are based on FIA GT cars but still use the original chassis, they were allowed until it was clarified that they weren't basically.
Most Race Cars are based on the original chassis but it is hard to tell which ones. Modern SuperGT GT500 cars are not, they carbon monocoque, while the old GT500 from the JGTC era are based on production chassis.

For this reason I don't think SuperGT or JGTC cars should be allowed and the same goes for any FIA GT or LMP class car.

Like DC9990 said, the cars should have originated from a production/stock state, therefore even tuning cars are allowed but it can be unclear at the same time.

RM modification is allowed.

Now some tuning companies like RE-Amemiya have a street based RX-7 (the blue "daimao" rx-7) and the Asparadrink GT300 RX-7. In this case the Asparadrink is not allowed but the blue RX-7 is.

If its still unclear which cars then simply ask before and we'll clarify.

EDIT: just tried to upload the replays, and i can get them onto the PS3 in the Save Data Utility section but they are in a different folder to my other GT5 replay saves, and then I go into GT5 to upload i cant find them. ?

You can put in the original post:
If there any clarifications needed, then please just ask

When you upload the replays to your PS3 it'll be within the same folder as your GT5 SAVE file which holds all your data.

Is that the folder you uploaded your files to?

It uploads in to a folder called Gran Turismo 5: Replay, while my own replay files are in GRAN TURISMO 5 folder.
